Percocet Helps My Stomach Pain That I Had Since I Was Very Young

i have been sent to a new dr. who doesn't want to prescribe percocet or any narcotic on a regular basis. This is the only pill besides Oxycontin which also helped. i don't know how to explain to my new dr. more than my chronic pains it is such a relief after more than 45yrs. of horrible diagnostics & operations, which has made me have severe panic attacks going to a new dr., any hospitals, or even to visit someone. I will not go for more torture evaluations of which my dr. that retired stated he never saw so many inconclusive results. I just can't go through any more diagnostics that haven't helped. Any suggestions? I don't want to go back to pain everyday. I can't function without severe stomach pains, along with my other asst. pain. Please i'm not a drug addict, just am tired of my stomach ruling my life. Please help!!!

Hello, Gail! How are you? I'm sorry about the stomach pains you're having.

Have they ever checked you for gastritis?

The reason I ask is because I suffered from it myself for years, with no proper diagnosis, until one ER doctor took a stab in the dark. He had me drink a concoction that had Lidocaine in it and, when it eased my pain, he knew it was gastritis. To put it simply, it's a condition that causes your entire stomach to turn into one large ulcer. I'm not a doctor, but if they've not looked into it, it could be worth asking about.

It is easy to treat, however, 3 months on an antacid, which for me was Famotidine, and I was able to return to a normal life. Once in awhile, I find a food or drink that causes a flare and I learn to avoid those substances in the future/

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Famotidine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and funny taste.

thanks for trying to help. I've had ulcers, hyadialhernia?? i have every test & torture since 7yrs. old, maybe younger. i just can't & i have tried again i am now 57 & am no longer adding to my horrible childhood trauma. i can't control the severe panic attacks & don't see a problem to keep taking for once in my life a painless solution. they have already made it so i go for only reg. dr. visits. even that is more stress, since my nightmare after my dr. retired. thanks so much at least i know some people care!! gail
