Orange Subutex 153 (Top voted first)

Updated

I refilled my monthly subutex Tuesday and received orange oblong tablets inscribed 153. My pharmacy has carried 54/111 over three years. Does anyone know if the orange ones are going to permanently replace all other generic Buprenorphine? Also, are any other patients experiencing loss in quality? Thank you

@BC1111,

I know you feel you weren't prescribed all of the corn starches and anhydrouses that are in a Subutex but Those two I mentioned and the magnesium are all to help you dissolve all 8 mg of the Bupe, if 8 is your dose, and they are also designed , or put in there to act as a buffer and help the half life of the drug remain the longest lasting possible. If you check the old white Roxonne laboratory website, they state that all of the additional drugs that you don't need or didn't get prescribed were also all incliuded in the old white ones. Or at least from the webpage I read the ingredient from.

I took opiates for five years, i have now been off for 4 years on August 3rd thanks to using subutex as prescribed. Always under my tongue and always 8 hours apart from one another. Every form of Buprenorphine I have tried tastes bad and if anyone in this forum thought the white ones tasted pleasant under your tongue then you need to go see a taste bud doctor cause yours are fried?? I found out that 99 percent of the complainers are the abusers who take more than prescribed, ect. The other 1 percent of the complainers are the price or lack of availability as bc1111 mentioned. I also only want to complain about the price and availability because In the Northern Kentucky, Greater Cincinatti area it is impossible to get Subutex filled anymore because the D E A and Kentuckys Senate have waged a personal war on the Subutex specifically made by Roxonne, Teva, And Ethypharm companies. All of us legitimate users who take as prescribed administered under the tongue have to suffer thanks to the abusers and people who sell theirs as well as run out early from over-use. "THANKS ABUSERS AND DRUG DEALERS"!!! You ruined a good thing for us 1 percent...

I totally agree Mary. When I take more than I'm supposed to, that's when the headaches occur, which was the same scenario with the Roxoane 54/411 tabs. I like the new orange ones better as well. They take slightly longer to dissolve which to me, is a benifit by making sure all of the Buprenorphine is dissolved in my blood vessels under my tongue. The only reason I hear others truly complaining boils down to the fact that when they abuse them, they burn your nose unlike the white ones. I think anyone who misuses them are in fact abusing them because they are wanting a buzz to hit them hard and fast, yet resulting in a shorter half life which in my eyes, I call that abusing them which is exactly the opposite of what the drug is administered for. Some people will never change and it's sad, this epidemic of opioid dependence has his hand in the greater Cincinnati area which is where I'm from.

Jenpink..So sorry you don't like this brand! I had been addicted to pain meds for many many years and this new/or old brand works just fine. Again, if your taking for the right reasons you shouldn't have any problems at all! What about them do you not like? Just curious. I was taking 10 to 15 painkillers a day...I stoped with no problem using this brand. I've gone from 8mg twice a day to about 2mg once a day. I have energy, feel normal and living a good life. Like i said before, I may get a headach here and there but only because I've taken more then i should. If your only in it for the high...one day you may find you won't be able to get these anymore and the whole purpose has been defeted. The laws are going to get alot stricter here in the next few months when ot comes to this medication.

Are you sure your tablets stated 54/111 because the only white round pill I know of with those markings are Anti-Malaria pills they use in third world countries. The correct marking should be 54/411. Both drugs are manufactured by Roxone Labratories but could be a very bad mistake if the Malaria medication is what the pharmacy has given you.
Sincerely,

Prices also went up significantly (walgreens) for this version from Actavis (Actavis is now Allergan). I must find another pharmacy with the smaller white pills again. These are full of "other" stuff* to make it hard for people to abuse it... by making it burn if you do.

For me...and i'm sure everyone else, it is:
1. terrible tasting
2. very hard to divide (I divide into 4 pieces...impossible to make equal doses)
3. headaches due to taking too much (and not enough water before)...because impossible to dose correctly.

(from website): pi.actavis.com/data_stream.asp?product_group=1967&p=medguide&language=E

citric acid anhydrous, crospovidone, FD & C yellow #6 HT aluminum lake, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, mannitol, pregelatinized starch (maize), providone, sodium citrate dihydrate.

I was not prescribed all that stuff. sux...but...it is bupe.

It's all up to the individual, but I will say there has been a lot of complaints where this generic is concerned. Most patients are complaining about the after taste, but there are some that are claiming they are not absorbing as well as the other brands and they are feeling withdraw sooner.

I as well just received these low quality generics. Orange subutex with 153 on them do nothing. I feel like they're not even real. I was taking the white ones with an arrow on the other side. They were the best. I hope Walgreens switches back.

@Frankie,
My comment was for those complaining of the taste or headaches associated with the new Actavis Orange Subutex, I would rather stick dirt under my tongue if it would work, because both colors taste disgusting and can cause headaches due to over consumption.
Don't quote me on this, but I believe the Orange Actavis Subutex are coming to America from Dublin Ireland, I might be incorrect. The batch you got could very well be placebo pills as far as I'm concerned if they are not closely watched when coming from another country. I would save your bottles and explain to your pharmacist and your doctor what is happening and they might get to the root of the problem. Maybe your doctor can check your nano- blood levels in a simple blood test to see if your properly getting the medicine and dosage sublingually. If it is Dublin Ireland, they could be tainted. Also the 1 or 2 ingredients they made slight changes with, may not work properly sublingually with certaiin individuals like yourself. Hope I could help sincerely because I know the importance of Subutex and how it can change and save lives. I am breathing, walking, proof.

I'm wondering, too, about this "nose burning" some people are attributing to certain generic subutex pills. What, are you insufflating them? Why??? As for the headaches, that side effect almost certainly comes from taking more than the proper dose; they're formulated that way purposely to discourage abuse. And lastly, just a little "grammar police" instruction: Suboxone is pronounced suboxOWN, not suboxin, and withdrawal does not have "s" at the end; it's withdrawal, not "withdrawals." Just felt a little cranky today--sorry if I offended anyone.

BC1111, buy a pill cutter with a lid that snaps shut. Break the pill in half, then the halves in half. You just have to line it up with the blade in order to get an even cut. You will have four quarters now. God bless everyone and best of luck to us all!

I forgot to tell you..yes, put under your tongue. They taste nasty but I don't swallow much till dissolved. You will still have mushy stuff under tongue at times..its ok, just swallow..takes about 2 maybe 3 minutes to dissolve.

Hi Helpihate...I've noticed if you take more then you should you will get a headache...I took a little less than my normal dose this morning and it works better...and energy is better. The saying less is more I think works in this case! Give it a try and good luck.

I have had no issues with the new Subutex. I once in a while get a headach, ONLY because i may have taken more then I should have. It's a good warning to cut back. After almost 2 months on this brand the after taste has subsided a bit...I believe I like this brand better! I think if your taking right and not abusing them...good choice..but if your taking to get a buzz or pick me up...Whats the point of taking? And yes...I do get the energy from these just as i did the last brand.
