Is a dosage of 400 mg of seroquel too strong? Only taking 1 makes a family member sleep in a near coma-state? Also seeing some labored breathing. Should we go to a hospital for that?

Hello, Jennie! How are you?

It could be too strong of a dose for them. The sleeping isn't a major concern, because that usually tends to improve, once their body gets used to the medication, but that may take 4 to 5 weeks.

However, the labored breathing is something that should be addressed by their doctor.

The FDA lists the other typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.

Are they on any other medications?
