THIS IS ABUSE, and THIS IS ILLEGAL!
and the time has come for ACTION!

An alarming number of medications are simply no longer available in FL. Oxycodone, adderall, hydromorphone, -just about everything from class 2 and beyond.
I have legitimate prescriptions from a Dr I have treated with for YEARS, but they are now as useless as the paper they are written on.
It is much, I repeat MUCH easier to find the medications which I am PRESCRIBED on the STREET! -that's the ONLY place to find many targeted medications now!

The "pill mill bill" is bogus BS, there has not been ANY pharmacy who will fill the obnoxiously large "pill mill prescriptions" in fact, finding a pharmacy in your OWN AREA who will -make that CAN fill a prescription from a legitimate Physician is simply impossible.
No one seems to really know who to point the finger at either!?? Some blame the Pharmaceutical industry, still others blame the DEA, so, tell me, who is causing this? who is depriving us of our rights to professional and legitimate treatment here in FL? because as soon as I am sure who to go after, I am going to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!

My little pharmacy has just about gone out of business, Just last week when checking to see if anything had come in at all, the Pharmacist (who I have gone to for nearly a DECADE) told me that it is the worst for some of their Cancer Patients, and those who take behavioral and Psychiatric medications.

as a matter of fact, this "medication ban" has DEFINITELY caused a DEATH in one area:

Hi,
I've been trying to find a pharmacy to fill my father's prescription for 168 30mg oxycodone for almost a week now he's got slipped disc in his back and has been in immense pain without them, is there any way to fill his prescription online or is there a pharmacy that has them? I've tried going to pharmacies from sarasota all the way down to homestead FL. He needs them asap, can anyone help please it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I totally agree! Im sick of being treated like a drug addict! Im blood tested, urine tested, electrically fingerprinted at my Dr's office. He does all he can to make sure you're following all the rules. Now we deal with Pharmacies who decide who gets their meds? Some want only cash, others say if you havnt been there within 6 mos. NO, only if you live within 30 miles? How is all this legal? Some are lg. chains. They wont give info by phone so you drive around for a week to no availe.I CANT TAKE MUCH MORE! I had to switch to Hydromorphone 8 mg. today. Its not even close to Oxycodone 30 mg. But you can buy them on the street for $20.00 ea. When in Gods name will someone help us???

In reading your posts, I couldn't agree more with you all. I feel your pain, as my husband suffers from severe cervical pain as well and is unable to fill his RX.

What is sad, but true, is that those people who are in true need of the medication for their severe pains, pay the price for all the other As... who screw it up for everyone else. The feds should go after the abusers, not those who truly have a medical need and are in constant pain. What else is this government going to control. This country is being run with a socialist mind. The idea of "All for one, and one for all" just doesn't cut it. Not every person is the same, and if you have severe, chronic pain, and are taking maintenance medication with a ligitimate RX from a Pain Management Doctor, you should not have to suffer. I agree, it's time we step up to the plate and stand up for our rights. Florida is the worst state for this BS. Obviously, the feds have nothing better to do. They are wasting tax payers money in tackling such stupidity. Instead, why don't they ban alcohol and cigarettes too. Afterall, there are millions of deaths every year involving alcohol and cancer. They only ban what they want to ban. It is what is convenient for them, and nothing else. This is an outrage.

SORRY!! EVEN MY POST ON HERE GETS MESSED UP!! I went to my Dr today. I am totally legal and have been on my meds for 4 years. The past 3 months have been a nightmare! My pharmacy I had been going to in Venice, FL all of a sudden said they don't have them. They say they order, but never arrives. Now I have to ride to at least 40 pharmacies before I get a yes. Every month!! Last month it took 4 days and I finally found 6pm on 12-30-11. I have been so upset over the stereotyping at each pharmacy. This is ruining our lives just trying to fill. This is harder than getting them prescribed which is very difficult as is. The people that are legally prescribed these meds and live in FL are hurt the most. These pharmacies should mind there business, do there job and fill without question for anyone that has a real Dr and real script. Help us! So messed up. We are in enough pain as is and to put us thru all this drama. Not right!

Very sad. Went to my Dr anf 30 pharms in Sarasota county as I have been doing for past 3 months and every pharmacy says no. This is a HUGE epidemic and the people that have legal scripts are succeeding! I am wiped out from doing all this work just to try and fill my leak prescription. I have to travel all over again tomorrow. Last month it took 4 whole days blood, sweat and tears and finally I got lucky. This is horrible! I believe some places have it and they are picking those they think have serious pain. However, this is all wrong! I have been in pain for a long time playing hockey since I was 3 and started taking roxis legally for the past 3 years after my MRI's came back with real reason to be on these meds. Help us! This is so unfair. Many people that are in our same situation can only take so much of this hardship before they really do something they wouldn't ever think of. This needs to get better before it gets worse!

I agree Dane, however there are a lot of people that get injured and docs prescribe opiates, and these people, not really knowing much about them, take it. Then they get hooked before their script runs out. Theres fault on both sides...

I feel for ya I truly do. I called everyone from the DEA to Florida Department of Health and filed complaints. FDOH was the nicest and seem to be trying to help the ones who are truly in need. First off NEVER EVER USE WALGREENS. My doctors office said they call them and make them fill out an additional form and it takes at least 24 hours to get your prescription filled. I did all the , after being a 35+ year client of only Walgreens. My prescription costs alone is enough to pay 3 of their employees salaries for the entire year. They begged me to keep using their stores and said it up to the pharmacist to decide if they get dispensed. Like I said my own doctor told me to stop using them. Publix and Walmart seem to be the kindest at understanding the pain your in and seem to do their very best to accommodate you. A few pharmacists are forthcoming on when they get their shipments and give you the best chance of getting them filled. Have you tried a fyntenol patch? I think it is the best thing going. It gives you steady pain meds for 72 hours. My first time on them and I slept a full nights sleep, the first one in 8 years! Tell your story to a pharmist who cares and you will treated better quickly. These places mostly get one shipment a month so it's important to keep trying every day, even by phone, and see if the shipment is in yet. Now please ONLY FOLKS WHO REALLY NEED THEM FOR LIDGET PAIN DO THIS. I don't need fakers and dealers messing up my chances to get my meds. Stay tenatious and find a pharmist who cares and will listen to your entire story. Call you insurance company and maybe they can help, who knows they are the ones paying all the money I'd think they can pull a little weight. The smaller mom and pop type places are nice but now adays you have to have been a client for some time before they can take care of you. I can understand that they need to take care of their regulars first. If you use my formula you should have luck. I even brought in my medical file to show the pharmist once and he was shocked and sorry cause a lot if pain can't be seen from the outside. Try the patch, they are cheap and they work the best. I hope you get back on you feet real soon. Best wishes

Just about ANY pharmacy can fill a prescription for generic oxycodone. If the Dr. has prescribed a particular pill that the pharmacies do not have, go back to the Dr. and tell them you need it in a more common form. I use 5mg oxycodone tablets for break-through pain and EVERY pharmacy I go to has them. Of course, your prescription must come from a Dr. that has a DEA number and the script must be on a form that has security features. If pharmacies are not filling your dad's prescription, you need to ask them WHY and go back to your Dr. with that info.

I TOTALLY AGREE they are making it impossible for people with LEGITIMATE prescrptions to obtain their medications! or there is OUTRAGEOUS price gouging. This is only going to cause people to go looking ANYWHERE for their meds, which can only lead to criminal enterprising & profiting.

at least sign the petitions!
better yet, copy the filings from a previous lawsuit, put your name as the plaintiff
and file it Pro Se. (make sure it applies to you in the first place, and that you are substantiated, -there are plenty of Free Legal resources out there... Use them, and don't construe THIS as "legal advice"
I intend to file suit against the FL Surgeon General, the DEA, the Sheriff of my county, and a list of pharmacies that is just staggering.
Class Action? anyone interested? I welcome anyone who has been damaged by this witch-hunt.

My husband & I moved to the Fort Myers area 6 weeks ago. We moved here from NJ because the cold weather would keep me in bed, in tears, 2 out of 3 days. Now that we're here, and after seeing a pain management doctor, I am unable to get my medications. I have prescriptions and have been told by the pharmacies that they don't carry it or don't have it in stock. I went to a Winn Dixie yesterday, where I saw 2 other patients that were in my doctors office getting their pain medications filled. I was denied!! I was given 3 reasons in under 2 minutes! First it was we are not accepting new patients even though the sign in the front of the store clearly states we are accepting new patients, then I was told that the medications they have in stock are for their EXISTING patients only (I even asked if he could please order these for me & was refused!!) so I left. I went home & called them to inform them that, according to the paper I received at my doctors office, "It Is Illegal for a pharmacy NOT to fill a duly executed prescription!" at which point Paul, the Pharmacy Assistant chuckled and said "well we can't fill it if we don't have it!"!!!!!!!!!!!! Unreal!!! I called the corporate office and have threatened to sue if this pharmacist (Javier) continues to refuse to fill my script!! They are now working on coming up with a solution! I am praying that this situation will change so I can get the medications that WORK FOR ME! I shouldn't have to get new medications, worry about getting sick from them, worry about getting tired from them (when I work from home due to my disability) or the medications simply not working on my pain. I'm just as fed up & will do whatever is necessary to be able to get my legitimate prescriptions filled. I have Fibromyalgia, both knees need replacing, both shoulders need surgery & I have a spinal cord injury with 33% of my spinal cord being crushed from the bulged/slipped/herniated disks! This doesn't even begin to cover the pinched nerves & muscle spasms I have that are excruciating! Count me in!!

Well the more I research it, the more I realize what absolute BullS*** that is. Our gov. just wants to take every penny it can from us and then say F*** you to the people who are injured or in serious/chronic pain. Sure, they give all the benefits in the world to our vets. Don't get me wrong, our vets are our most valuable and underappreciated people walking the face of God's green earth; as trivial as my opinion is, I salute you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! If I have to go get shot or step on a land mine for help with my 3 diagnosed, progressive diseases in my back (at 38 years old), please let me know. Although I couldn't manage basic training, I can shoot from years of hunting. Therefore, please give me a gun and I will go pop a few towelheads so that I can have benefits and receive my NECESSARY meds so that I may have some kind of a life....because the one I'm being forced to live (F*** you Pam Bondi....Florida's new state attorney b****) isn't worth living. I can't even be a father to my 17 year old son because I can't even throw a ball due to the UNRELIEVED pain. However, before B**** Bondi slept her way to the top attorney's office in Tampa, I could get my meds at the first Walgreens I stopped at. Now, I get laughed at by pharmacists (aka...people that were too dumb to graduate from REAL doctor courses and training) or by pharmacy techs that don't know their a$s from a hole in the ground. In my meaningless opinion, our founding forefathers would be ashamed of what we have let their country turn into.....they would roll over in their graves. Additionally, I love the way the pharmacy workers pretend to check for your prescription meds (the second isle in for about 2 seconds) then they laugh and say we're out of stock and have no clue when we will get more. Then, they have the nerve to say, "Have a nice day"; meanwhile, they were looking at over a thousand oxycodone 30 mg. pills and provided you ZERO service and ZERO sympathy for what you are going through. I have two words to those idiots at Walgreens...."SUCK IT."

I have not been able to fill my script for weeks and then was given a tainted injection which I almost died from all because they pharmacys won't fill my prescription. Which is from a well respected DR in Tampa FL. This month has been a nightmare and cost nearly 50k in medical bills. The pharmacies I have found will not accept insurance and were charging $1700 for 120 oxycodone 30mg then the others I found take insurance but not for this one script. It is bull s*** and I am fed up with this make believe shortage. The government is praying on the public and becoming legalized drug dealers. I thought there were laws in place for price gouging and there is no way a pharmacy can just say they won't fill it because they don't like you which has been the story all week for me. I went to one today which was a 2 hr drive and they said since I don't live close to them they won't fill it and all the places by me are out or not accepting new patients people get sick every day how can they decide not to give you the medication the doctor has prescribed for you. I thought they took an oath to treat people not cause more harm. I'm so frustrated

Hi, I have a bimalleolar fracture in my right ankle. I can provide x-rays. The problem is that a pain management clinic in my town cannot see me until a month from now. I also have Fibromyalgia and prior to the fracture I was prescribed Norco 5mg PRN 120Qty. I would go through this prescription every 2 months. Its three weeks out from my surgery and my doc wants me to be "weaning" off Lortab 5mg and Ibuprofen. Please if you can provide any helpful information, anything that might help make my case with my orthopedic surgeon until I have an appointment set with a local PM clinic in MD, I would greatly appreciate it. I want to show that I am not receiving proper pain relief for this extremely painful fracture, I had a pre-existing prescription for Norco 5mg for the treatment of Fibromyalgia and now I am being asked to not take it anymore, and on top of it all my ankle is still far from being healed up. I am just beginning physical therapy and the pain has started up again so bad, it feels like it did when I originally broke it.

My Doctor informed me today that several of his patients are filling their pain meds out of the state. He claimed that he wasn't sure weather it was NJ, Las Vegas or both. It seems that it's cheaper to fly out of the state of Florida and back than it is to fill pain meds at a local pharmacy. The fact that even one person has to go without pain meds because of the mistakes and greed of others is just wrong. If the DEA were doing their job twelve years ago when this all started and didn't let this become out of control in the first place, then innocent, legitimate, pain control patients would not be suffering today. I'm ashamed to say I live in a country that treats it sick and elderly in such a way.
