Dilaudid / 170 Mg Of Methadone

I have 4 mg of dilaudid but in on about 170mg of methadone, I recently feel and sprained my elbow and was wondering if this will take away the pain, or will I be taking it for no reason

Hi Joanna from RI, because u r on such a high dose of methadone, taking the 4mg of Dilaudid will probably defeat the purpose. I wouldn't recommend taking the Dilaudid. You probably wouldn't get any effect from it anyway. But, I wouldn't mix the 2. I'm sorry 2 hear about your pain, I suffer everyday with pain. But, I'm on suboxone. Use 2 b on methadone, which helped much more with pain. But, I switched 2 suboxone. What a dumb move I made. I'm also from RI. Good Luck!

Hi, Please help! ive been on 130mgs of methadone for 4 years now and I'm have a major operation done where there depending in Diladid to control the pain... I'm getting a local anesthesia for lipo suction where I will be awake the whole time.. What pain medication will work that I can feel? Or am I better off not taking me methadone for 2 days prior so the Diladid will work?? PLEASE HELP!!!

Be completely honest with your Doctor in how much Methadone you're taking. And if you already have, don't worry! They will make sure you're completely comfortable & in as little pain as possible. The anesthesiologists are good at what they do & they will make sure you have the proper "cocktail". Just make sure they know what meds & how much.

My girlfriend is suffering and dying from bile duct cancer which has spread throughout her body. The doctors have her on methadone and dilauded. The method ins is in liquid form and she has S port to delver the dilauded, every 20 minutes I'd necessary, round the clock. My question is this; does the liquid methadone negate the effect of the dilauded? Is the dilauded really helping work on the pain or should she ask for an increase in methadone. She says her pain is controlled at the moment but wants to be as pain Fred as possible as long as possible so she can have quality time with her children before passing.
