Clonidine For Tachycardia But Also On Suboxone (Top voted first)

Updated

I was perscribed clonodine for tachycardia but have also been on suboxone for 6 years..which I would love to get off of. After research I see this drug also helps with the withdrawals.. can I use the clonodine to help withdraw from suboxone? Will I withdraw from the clonidine also if I stop taking it? Is it just another drug that I'll be physically addicted to?

It's really hard to say, since we are all different, so much of it depends on you and your metabolism.

But yes, Clonidine has been known to help with withdrawal symptoms according to FDA reports, and yes, you may experience some withdrawal symptoms from it, if you stop it abruptly, however, it depends on how much you were taking and how long you were taking it.

What dosage are you taking?

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I just started taking the clonidine yesterday and it's .1 mg..dang it has me messed up. The suboxone that I've been on is actually the buprenorphine 12 mg. A day. (They are the 8 mg. Tablets and I break on half) should I try to cold turkey the suboxone with the clonidine or wean off. Yesterday I went all day until almost bed time and took 4mg. Of the subs. And then I broke the clonidine in half also so I wasn't a zombie. This morning I felt alot better and took only a half again. I feel good. I just would love to get of the subs. But wasn't sure if I'm switching 1 drug for another, or am I going to be addicted to 2 pills now instead of 1. Are the withdrawal symptoms from clonidine similar to the subs, or is it just because of the blood pressure and you can't just stop abruptly?
Thank you for your response!
