Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 29)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.

While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.

My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.

Re: Charlii77 (# 91) Expand Referenced Message

I hate to sound hypocritical...but since I wrote that I’ve had issues with tachycardia..worse during the day...bad at night (171 bpm high during day-112 bpm waking me from REM sleep at night.) First thing I did was check w/ cardiologist.....he said heart was good after tests......he suggested thyroid or anxiety.....endocrinologist said thyroid was good...he sugggested anxiety.....went to my long term shrink....he said many patients now telling him Actavis and Leading made lorazepam is not as effective....he put me on an additional .5 mg (for starters) of klonopin at night.........tachycardia is better but not there yet...... seems it’s the india-made lorazepam.

I doubt Pharma wants us off...that’s how they make their $$, regardless of what they have in their pipelines.......I think not prescribing new anxiety patients with benzos is a good idea for some...but for me...benzos were the only effective drug FOR ME 50 years ago and still are today....not one psychiatrist nor any other kind of doc ever tried to treat a cause or find out what it was....with ssri’s I was a zombie but an anxious one at that......on same dose I started, never abused while friends killed themselves, their livers and relationships on legal booze......kind of hypocritical of the Powers that Be.

Yes, wonder about the placebo. Mylan worked fine for me at 1 mg. Leading is like sucking a small packet of stevia. My dr. was kind enough to order me 2mg a night of Leading and that helps some. Maybe pharma wants us to all gete off these things and take other drugs they are designing...who knows?

I would find another doctor and a good lawyer immediately! Btw, I never heard of any such study.......and if a Doctors credo is to “do no harm” then this doctor is breaking his oath.

Re: Richard (# 84) Expand Referenced Message

Hello, I am 70. I have been taking Lorazepam, for Panic disorder and anxiety for almost 30 years.. I am being removed with no support to withdraw or how to face miserable Panic Attacks returning. Reason for this nightmare is "studies show that elderly people given Lorazepam fall and break hips, etc". I can't find info on this "study". I see this doctor about every three months. My script is down now to 45ct, 2mg..per month...used to be 60ct, 2mg..per month. Has anyone been taken off Lorazepam for this study? I used to drive many miles in my career. Now I fear I will end up like a hermit... afraid to drive. I read on this blog about folks taking Lorazepam for many years and I would like truth. I take blood pressure meds, but no other. I'm consistently prescribed Abilify which I don't understand since I tested for panic disorder, PTSD, and anxiety. Thank you for listening and help.

WEll, my thyoid is what cause most tachycardia...it ran too high and the Dr. just thought I needed an antidepressant and I was having anxiety. It was be cause he didn't read the values on my tests correctly. Of course, he was the Dr. who told me I would die if by BP wasn't 110/60. (I am 66).

Re: Dar (# 83) Expand Referenced Message

I guess different mfg for different folks....but I seem to get the tachycardia on both Leading and the Actavis...not the old Watson.......but that is now moot....I cannot find anything anywhere besides Actavis which for me..is less effective or at least that’s what appears so....one never knows when it’s our anxiety’s perception or reality.....odd with the tachycardia...it doesn’t come out of the blue, the daytime definitely comes when exercising...which kinda sounds NORMAL to me, it’s just that it used to take a long time to get up there...but then I wasn’t wearing a heart monitor watch when I was younger either....maybe it’s always been there....same with the REM/awakening (though it seems much lower (90-105) -never had a finger oximeter bedside - always after a dream and goes down with a few deep breaths.....oh, the thrills of health anxiety, lol.....

WEll, I am having trouble get Mylan now...clearly better than Leading. I also experience tachycardia with Leading and took such a long time to work and then did not compare to Mylan. My pharmacist checked around and it seemed like not much but leading is all that will be available in my area. He tried to tell me they all have the "same" amount of active ingredients.

Okay.....so my last prescription was filled with Actavis/Watson.....seemed to work for me.......after a while I noticed I was getting minor brief headaches....in all my 71 years I just didn’t get headaches.....and a bit of tachycardia when I moved a lot or even dreaming at night, I then noticed I was washing out faster with Actavis than I was with Leading....so next week I get a new 3 month prescription......so I called around to Costco’s, Walgreens, cvs’s, NOBODY has Leading now...only Actavis...good grief, is there a monopoly now by Actavis is the space of 3 months? Not sure what options I have.....I still had some old Watson before it was moved to India.....even now they are better than Actavis......any suggestions?

Re: Richard (# 77) Expand Referenced Message

For some reason I haven’t gotten any notifications for this thread until tonight...... Re: convincing myself about my heart....well, first off my wife of 48 years has a lot of common sense plus a medical background......which did involve investigating overuse of tests and meds by docs and hospitals......plus she’s lived with my anxiety for over 50 years.......the fact that my heart rate when working doesn’t suddenly spike but rises slowly...and doesn’t suddenly drop but lowers slowly as I stop work (actually the heart rate drops pretty fast when I just rest.....like it’s supposed to)....both are a good indication it’s heightened anxiety.......as for the night time awakenings...she says i’ve had that for years...I just didn’t keep the oximeter next to the bed to see exactly how high my heart rate was...it’s natural to have a higher heart rate when dreaming...but i’m spending too much time in REM state....that can be due to anxiety.......and depression....or both.....I had put my email in my last post..they took it out.....I guess private communication is impossible.

Re: Richard (# 77) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, somehow I never got this in my inbox. I didn't have to convince myself. I had been to 2 different doctors and an ER doctor who after tests, confirmed. My heart itself was really never an issue, just my pulse being high. Anyway, it was an over-medicated thyroid that caused the problem.

Re: Richard (# 75) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Richard....yes, I have experienced what you are talking about. I don't have a monitor/wrist thing like you...just an Omron Monitor. I have not been able to take any drugs for sleep as they do just what you describe. Even 4mg of valium does nothing but the opposite for me. They are supposed to sedate. Sedation would bring one's HR down IMO. I am just taking supplements and natural things now. I have sleep problem more than panic problem. The magnesium has helped tremendously. Sorry you are going through this...it does get old.

Re: Gin (# 65) Expand Referenced Message

Okay...now this is weird. I’ve been on lorazepam/Ativan for over 35 years. No issues. As long as I can remember i’ve slept poorly, waking up 3-10+ times a night. The last 6 years i’ve been on generic lorazepam....mostly the old Watson, Leading (at the beginning of this year) and the Actavis Watson most recently. While working around the house my watch/monitor was on monitor mode.....kneeling-cleaning blinds...I noticed my hear rate had climbed to 152! I stopped...settled down as did my hr...1 day later I was on the ground working in the garden when I saw my monitor read 160...I freaked at first...at 71 that’s above my hr max.....went to ER.....ekg/bloodwork looked fine......came home....that night I kept an oximeter near me...I awakened as usual around 4:30am from a benign dream yet my hr was 103....I kept the oximeter near me....I awoke 5 more times-each time I was dreaming....each time my hr was around 100. I’ve done this for 3 nights now.....no matter how many times I wake up...my hr is always around 100...and each time a few deep breaths brings it right down.....there is no heart pounding I am aware of, no struggling to breathe, I never snore (as my wife attests)...good grief....could it be the generic lorazepam i’ve never been aware of? I utterly hate going to see a cardiologist because I find docs haven’t a clue regarding panic disorder nor do they ever think symptoms are pharmaceutically produced.....I recall seeing some say they had pounding heart beats.......anyone had high heart rates at night from your lorazepam? Did you switch to another generic? I may have had this for many years but just thought I was sleeping poorly.

Re: Richard (# 73) Expand Referenced Message

Oh really.. ok well I was just really interested in what you were saying. Can i ask have you ever spoken to One of Jehovahs Witneses? Like how you say you paint things that are so beautiful and don't know where it comes from. Me? I have to believe that someone created it. Like how wonderfully our body is made of many different parts. There has to in my opinion be someone who created that. So if your ever interested go to jw.org let me know.
