Teva 1mg Clonazepam Old Formula, Not Actavis (Top voted first)

Updated

It's January 2019 and I have been using TEVA Clonazepam 1mg for over 10yrs. I was taking most days 1.5 mg until recently. I had been tapering. Recently due to major anxiety (death in the family & several other factors) it was increased to 2mg sometimes 2.5mg. Since mid. November 2018. Actavis doesn't work on me. My doctor has given me a prescription of TEVA diazepam 10mg 3 per day. It's not working. Anxiety builds up in 3hrs. Need to stabilize for a bit and then begin tapering. I do not use SSRI's nor alcohol. No other medications. Please, any advice? TEVA worked.

Per call to TEVA on 4/1/19 they are considering bringing back their old TEVA formula clonazepam.

Please call TEVA customer service at 888-838-2872 (option #3 then option #5) for customer service and tell them about your experience to demand they bring back the old formula asap.

Several patients have said it’s messing with their life.

I, too, used TEVA brand clonazepam for years and was suddenly switched to Activis with no explanation. I learned that TEVA had bought Activis Pharmaceuticals, and was no longer producing clonazepam tablets - but distributing the Activis brand instead.

Further research showed that, at least for now, TEVA *does* still manufacture 1 mg clonazepam in the orally dissolving tablet. My pharmacist, nor my doctor knew this. I had to find it out myself and tell my doctor. Your doctor has to write the scrip for 'TEVA ODT' (orally dissolving tablets), and you might have to wait for your pharmacy to order them and get them in for you. As I said, my pharmacist didn't even know about these - she just changed me to the new brand with no warning, bounced me back and forth between Accord and Activis - both utterly useless for me. Different people react differently, but if you have a problem with these other brands, tell your doctor about it, and ask him to write you a new scrip for the TEVA ODT.

Which generic a pharmacy might carry, at any given time, depend on who was offering the cheapest price through their distributor, at the time they needed to restock their supply. Unfortunately, not every generic works for everyone that tries it.

How are you all doing, now?

Clonazepam carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as dizziness, irritability, headache, and nausea.

Re: Byrjun (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I am so sorry. I have been taking clonasepam 1mg for Bi Polar 1. I was so uninformed. Last refill was new color Teva 833. It is making me feel sick. Can not believe, a pharmacist hung up the phone because I was asking questions if the ingredients was different than Accord. Is it possible that the 1mg 833 by Teva has an opioid ingredient to make it addictive . I think my taking it for anxiety is off label. What a world that we now live in. I research everything. Just greed no pride in best product. Rite Aid has also been liable for opioid contamination Federal Court Ohio. So glad I found all comments

Diazepam didn’t work for me either. Tried it twice for at least two months each time it was a rollercoaster ride

Has anyone tried the new Teva klonopin 2mg? I did very well on the old Teva. I tried the new, maybe didn't stay on it long enough.
Switched to Roche, but they don't agree with me Very well. I did get the .5mg of new Teva and that seems to be ok for my morning dose. I can't seem to get any feedback on new Teva 2mg.
Thanks.

Re: Kim (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

I too, did very well on the old Teva. I took it for 10 years with no problem.
I tried the new 2mg Teva when it came out and it did not seem to
work. I went to Brand and it was horrible.
I did get the .5mg teva for my morning and afternoon dose. It seemed to work pretty good until recently. I also started back on the 2mg Teva back in June from the brand. It was a hard switch. I think I am still trying to adjust, but have no other choice. Brand was too strong and did not last.
I feel like I am in withdrawl. I have had a lot of stress recently. My Mom died of Covid at her ILF at the end of July.
I would say just give the 2mg a try and wait at least a few months.
I had to updose and still feel not right.
Hopefully our bodies and brains will adapt.
It is so frustrating that Teva had to pull this stunt.

I ended up going through withdrawl. They (teva) likes to tapes the longer acting benzos - it makes you look more like a ``abuser''.

anywho -

At the hospitol they game 16mg iv ativan and a valium 20. _I do not_ like ativan!

Perhaps take multiple .5 mg for your higher doses

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Teva messed us all up. It's possible that diazepam may not work for everyone, have you stabilized at all?
