I am inquiring as to whether anyone has ever experienced jaw pain when taking temazapam?

Please help; doctor doesn't want me as a patient anymore, reasons are ridiculous and too long to get into, but now she has put me in a jam. I was taking Clonazepam 2mg. 2 tablets 2x per week(for anxiety & sleep), & Temazepam 30mg. 2 tablets 2x per week. I have been on both these drugs for 2 1/2 years & want to get the heck off them. I noticed the last couple months; neither appeared to be helping the anxiety/sleep issues I have had; so basically I just want off both. I have been Clonazepam free for 11 days now. I CANNOT believe how I feel--like I could crawl right out of my skin; anxiety ridden, non stop talking, more and more and on and on. Bad idea to go cold turky, but did & now out of them. So I have to deal with the withdrawal with that one I guess.... But like I mentioned, I also want to get off the Temazepam. Am not going to go more crazy & quit cold turkey on that one too. My tablets are 30mg. & I normally took 2-30mg. tablets on Mondays & Fridays. Since I don't have a doctor anymore--can anyone suggest how to taper til completed weaned off? I want to get off this crud asap. Thanks everyone!!!

In regards to the original post, there are a few different ways that this medication may cause jaw pain.

The first could be due to its causing the opposite of its intended effect, it may be causing stress and anxiety, rather than relieving it, so this could cause someone to be clenching their jaws and/or grinding their teeth while sleeping.

And the second is due to the fact that it can cause restlessness of the jaw as a side effect in some people that take it. This can cause the jaw to be sore and tired.

Thus, if you're experiencing such an issues, you should consult your doctor to get to the root of the problem and find a proper solution.

And as to Crickett's question, I sincerely hope that everything turned out alright.

In regards to tapering, in many cases now, it is just done by widening the gap between taking these types of medications, rather than gradually lowering the dosage.

If you are taking it in such a manner where it is already spaced out several days apart, then that may be the easiest option for you to look into.

However, it should only be done under medical supervision and these medications should never be stopped abruptly if you've been on them for a long time, because doing say may result in seizures.
