Tapering Down From Liquid Methadone 50ml

Hi I'm Jason. I'm currently on 50ml of liquid methadone for opiate addiction. I really want to detox off this poison. I've just moved 14 miles to West London in England UK, it's a great move as I was living in a room in Tottenham North London, which was a complete and utter s***hole, excuse my French. My mental health really went out the window and I abused drugs most days and nights, as I was surrounded by it in my flat. There was even a drug dealer and everyone I knew took these drugs, it was hell. Anyway I'm now after 4 years alone again in a beautiful 1 bedroom flat that's all mine. No one knows me. I don't touch drugs but I'm still on 50 ml of methadone.

So I'm asking you guys what's the least dangerous way to cut down and get off this stuff, as its really holding me back in life. I know it's not easy and you sneeze and sweat and feel like crap but I'm ready I get sufficient money to buy good food to help me too so I'm in the perfect position to finally drop this stuff and get back to work. My name is Colin and I live in Vancouver Canada I have been on methadone for for over 20 years and I don't believe I will ever get off of itI work a regular job 9 to 5 Monday to Friday as a community outreach worker and I have Sean way to meany people who try to get off the methadone only to start using drugs again I have a very good doctor who says you need to have 2 years of stable clean life before he will even consider weaning someone off of methadone I am on 100 mls and I pick up from my drugstore once a week and become I broke my back when I was young I am now on a manantance doce and I am ok with that it's way better than the life I was living so please look at the reasons why you want to get off and how long you have been stable for and if you do decide its what you want to do take it very slow and give your body time to get used to each drop like 6 months any quicker and the drops start to compound and you will get withdrawal look me up if you want to talk more Lakelizerd

Good for you!! That’s absolutely wonderful that you’ve been able to get out of that destructive environment and away from those that really don’t care about you or have your best interests involved!!
And YES you can do a SLOW TAPER OFF OF LIQUID METHADONE..
Go to whatever clinic that your currently dosing at and tell them you want to detox completely and they have protocols that they follow for any medical detox from liquid methadone.. Now depending on how either “Tough” or “Sappy” you become. Usually they taper you down around 1mg per day. And the doctor that’s been prescribing your dose can and will prescribe you other medications to take to help you with the symptoms your going to feel and go through while taping. It’s really not that bad considering your addiction to opiates I’m sure that you’ve been in withdrawal before so you already know how that feels.
Plus 50 mg is a pretty low dose of methadone as well.. and when they are just slowly taking 1mg a day away from you the sickness one feels from the withdrawal is lessened significantly..

Go to meetings. Talk to people. Make new friends within N.A. for yourself and surround yourself with positive people places and things. You’ve already done the hardest part. You made the decision to stop using drugs, you moved to a town where you don’t know anyone to start over and now for you; this last step in changing your life is to taper off of the methadone. I have faith in you and I know you can do it.
My husband has over 32 years clean time now.
Because of the pandemic Covid-19 the majority of the meetings are Online right now so you can go to one anywhere in the world literally 24/7…

In my opinion you should taper yourself down to 20 mg that is what they recommend in the clinic I go to and other ones I've heard of. Can I ask what your plans are after you come off of the methadone? Will you be continuing with another maintenance program? I myself am thinking about tapering off of methadone and going back on suboxone im getting sick of going to a clinic everyday of my life.Anyway best of luck to you in whatever your decision may be god bless

Hi mate I was In the position I moved from harlsden 2 mill hill 4 the same reason . U dont have 2 b in any pain just taper down 5m each week u wont notice it dont do it cold Turkey it will hurt an no sleep 4 weeks I tried that way any good luck let me no how you get on

Wow mam 100 is a lot. I bloody cold turkey for 3 weeks. I'm back on 25mls. You're right - no sleep, sneezing, cold body, shivers. I was so ill and depressed like a zombie. It was horrific my friend. I was under pressure u see from my dad but f*** him its my life.
