Switching From Generic Subutex To Zubsol (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been on generic Subutex for about 3 years. Prior to that I was on Methadone then switched to Suboxone. At 1st I took the Methadone and Suboxone for MAT, as I used to abuse alcohol and drugs. I've been clean from all illicit drugs and alcohol for 9 years. I have severe chronic back pain, prior back surgery, now defective due to post surgery trauma. My doctor is going to switch me to Zubsol, it's the only thing my insurance will cover. Will Zubsol still help with the chronic pain. I can't and don't want to take any if the other narcotics. Subutex has both controlled my pain to a level that I can function on and I have never abused nor wanted to abuse it. I just don't know what to expect when I change the medication ???

Zubsolv contains Buprenorphine, and Naloxone, while Subutex only contains Buprenorphine. They are both used to treat the same issues.

The FDA warns that they both carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Are there any questions?

Just make sure any opioids are out of your system before you take anything with buprenorphine and/or naloxone or you will suffer what is called precipitated withdrawal. It is as close to hell as I ever want to get. Imagine the worst cold turkey withdrawal from, say, a high-dose methadone regimen and then triple it. Suffice it to say, the "discomfort" is beyond description.
