Has anyone used the new SUPREP kit before a colonoscopy?

Would like any comments about taste, ease or side effects.

Thanks!

It didn't taste horrible but it wasn't great like salty juice. Within 15 minutes it was time to set up camp in the bathroom. Passed water constantly for like 3 hours then it was only once in a while. I did throw up half hour after the second dose however

First time user. Went to Internet to get comments and advice on best way to take and after effects. All comments on how to take reflected my physician's views. Which I would have followed anyway. I was really looking for some advice on ways to avoid nausea, vomiting, cramps, etc. So, followed the directions explicitly. Popped a few Demerol an hour or so before. No nausea, no cramps, no discomfort other than feeling bloated from so much intake of liquid. Not a bad taste. Quick results. So to me the entire experience was "cake". This was about my dozenth or so scope. Most Likely, considering my age (81), my last.

Suprep is way better than any other colonoscopy prep I have used before. Your intestines and colon are cleaned thoroughly. Not so much risk of accidents. Highly recommend it over anything else. You may have to pay $45 for it. Well worth it.

The mixture was the worst thing I ever tasted, however the second dose was easier to get down than the first dose, since I had become somewhat used to it. I sucked on a popsicle in between sips of the mixture. Good luck.

Really what's the big deal about swallowing down the suprep. It was easy. Didn't taste good but not that difficult to chug. Tastes like sea salty grape cough syrup. No big deal. First dose took about two hours for results. Nothing crazy explosive just a lot of moderate liquid movements for the next 5 hours. One my second now and the same thing.

I started as directed at 5 pm. By 5:18 pm, I was in the bathroom and it was working it's magic. Not too bad until the vomiting and nausea kicked in. Called the Dr and was given an anti nausea pill. Now I have to take half of the second dose at 9 pm and the remainder at 4:30 am. I have chills. There has to be a better way to do these preps.

I've actually had worse tasting preps. Just took my first dose and I added a crystal light tangerine mango packet to mine (doc okay'd) and got through it. But I had a few odd reactions. 1) Quite naseaus (but did not omit), required laying down. 2) My teeth feel weird, like sensitive. 3) Could barely get through the two 16 oz waters afterward and it took about two hours instead of one, because I was so bloated and full. And 4) I'm still sitting here an hour plus later with barely a few trickles of loose stool.

I have had more colonoscopies than I can remember due to atypical polyps. All the preps suck. Suprep is certainly a bit more doable as limited in volume. Icy cold water and sucking on lemons help. Literally, follow your gut on this one. Try to get most all of the first dose in your system. This is easier as not yet bloated and averse to taste. If you get yourself to the liquid yellow bile phase with no solids in your stool, you are mostly there. Take as much as you can of second but it won't be much I bet. My doc says best to skip some of it if you know you are going to vomit. Don't sweat if your stool is watery liquid. There is nothing solid left in there and you will do fine in procedure. GI docs like the overkill approach as they are terrified of not having a squeaky clean procedure, as they should be. Trust your body though in telling you when you are cleaned out and don't feel forced to drink every drop. This approach has worked for me many times. But that isn't an excuse to do it half-assed. Make sure you get to the liquid phase and expect some of that yellowish appearance.

Poison, pure and simple and as if taking that stuff which takes abuse to a whole other level, the only thing it "produced" was further abuse by the Doc and the staff.
Assigning all the blame on me, the patient, accusing me of NOT completing the procedure ( I did complete). Never went back to that practice and later used another that did not use SUPREP. All went well. Amen!!

Ok folks. I'll share my story. Hope it helps. I'm having my 3rd colonoscopy tomorrow. I have been diagnosed with Crohn's, so I am sure there is more to come. Today's prep is Suprep. At first while drinking it, I was saying that it is worse than GoLytely. But now that I'm done with the first bottle and I'm drinking water. It's better. That awful taste is out of my mouth. With GoLytely it lasts for much longer because of the shear volume. Suprep started worked its magic in about 15 minutes. I'm not looking forward to the second bottle which I am supposed to do in the morning before the procedure. I feel like I will be giving the doc a present if I do what they tell me. But he obviously knows more than I do. Hahaha we shall see. I am also a nurse and have worked in a GI clinic and do see what happens on the other end when the patient doesn't do the prep correctly. So I will be a good patient and do as I am told. (We shall see who really knows more ). I do have Zofran on hand for any nausea. I wish I could use CBD but alas I cannot as a nurse. But I do recommend it to my patients!! So happy to you all!!!

I tried suprep today. Nastiest taste ever. I numbed mouth with menthol cough drop, drank it cold, used straw. I visciously threw up after about 2 oz.
had to call dr for anti nausea med. she wants me sucking on lemon/lime wedges in between sips and try again.

I used Suprep recently before a colonoscopy. Never again! Immediately after returning from the hospital I began feeling like I was getting over the flu (achy, low grade fever, exhausted,) A week later my ankles swelled and I could barely walk on them and my hands broke out in a horrific rash. They looked like they'd been scalded. I also had numerous red spots on other parts of my body. I had blood work done and nothing showed up. I'm convinced I had an allergic reaction to this medication. I had a colonoscopy 12 years ago using a different prep and no problems. I'm currently on prednisone for my swollen ankles and cortisone ointment for my horrific skin rash. My doctor said he'd never seen anything like this particular rash before.

Currently using this as we speak.. I began at 7pm last night for a 2pm colonoscopy. This stuff is awful.. don't listen to the people who claim it tastes like sweet tarts. It's absolutely vile. I drank mine cold, mixed with cold water and through a straw and somehow got the first bottle down within 10 minutes. I chased it with sprite which helped me with the horrible after taste a bit. Soon after I was guzzling my next two bottles of water which was rough. I felt bloated and freezing.. literally shaking with chills. No real nausea or stomach cramps so that is a plus. It took all of 20 minutes to begin working... I was basically in the bathroom from 7:20 til 9 going constantly. It slowly started to taper off and left the toilet about 10 pm. From then on I was in and out of the bathroom every 10-20 minutes. By about 11pm-1am I was able to doze off for a few minutes here and there til the urge hit again. I finally slept from 4am-530 un-interrupted. Woke up but still on and off the toilet.

Now it's about 7am and finished half the second bottle but couldn't finish it all because I would've ended up throwing it all up. Back on the toilet again for another 4 hours. This is just awful but gets the job done I guess.

My doctor said 4 hours apart for the Suprep. The instructions that come with the product mention 10 to 12 hours apart! I would like a bit more of a rest than the 4 hour interval before I drink the 2nd half of that vile stuff. :( Sigh. I was going to give myself an extra hour or two, which would still give me 9 hours before the procedure. Does anyone know what the thing with the timing is about?

Thanks!

This is the most horrible prep I have ever taken....truly gross! I have only done bottle 1 and I am dreading number 2. I would rather have my heart eaten out by a lion. Vile vile vile. Hopefully I can get 2 down, if not o'well.

Already posted on this before. It's not a product I would choose for my worst energy to use.
