For those looking for cream of tarter tablets you can get the same results by just taking a 1/8 tsp of pure sulfur per day for a few days to get rid of most skin problems... Any allergy to sulfur is probably just an allergy to "Sulpha" drugs and not sulfur , the element 16.. sulfur is available online.. in the tablets the cream of tarter was used as a binder and for taste..

I recently had a bout with boils caused by insect bites. I used a preparation with sulfur and petroleum jelly as a topical treatment on the bites. I also took orally 1/4 tsp of sulfur {99.5%) and the boils were gone within a period of less than two weeks.

It comes to this.. Sulfur, Element 16, is a life extending, bacteria controlling, health improving material "Mineral" !!! It is required by the body for a lot of uses but is currently depleted in food and generally not available as supplements (cream of tarter sulfur tablets) used to control "boils" bacteria, insects flees ticks, etc. The Medical/Pharma consortium will not support or even provide information to benefit the use of Sulfur.. Using small amounts of the mineral sulfur can extend ones health and result in the extension of a healthy life... used as an antibacterial it will prevent cut infections.. taken orally improves joint, knee, hip, and lower back problems.

Linda actually I have never found anyone allergic to Sulfur the mineral, they show an allergic reaction to "Sulphur Drugs!! which are pharma products.. The mineral Sulfur Element 16 is required in the body for the production of "joint" and cell production . When taken will , in most cases reduce the "Pain" of arthritis. The amount to take is a 1/8 tsp per day and sometime a little for joint pain.. in some taking sulfur orally is said to be life extending.. Sulfur is not known by many in the "natural " supplement use../ I will expand on its use at a later time!

Sulfur is related to ingredients found in certain antibiotics, so peoplewho are sensitive to sulfa drugs might have a reaction to eating sulfur. Because of its antibiotic properties, women can develop yeast infections from ingesting too much sulfur. Also, those sensitive to sulfur might develop diarrhea from ingesting it, so even though the amount Jo mentions is tiny, go slowly

The last time I purchased the wafers was when my 33 yr old was in 1st grade, the Pharmacist told me they could no longer order them but he had one bottle in the back! Sulfa and sulfur are two different things! Sulfa contains sulfur but according to several web sites the allergy is from the molecule reaction of the nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen combined with the sulfur. Sulfur is found in amino acids necessary for life.
I'm going to try the recipe of:
1/8 tsp powered sulfur
1/4 tsp honey
and add 1/2 tsp. of Cream of Tartar and maybe a drop of lemon or vanilla-can't hurt! I'll let you know how it turns out!

That is the reason they wanted to shut him down. Their excuse was that he was too old to continue his manufacturing. But he is still sharp as a tack at 77. My sister and I took these sweet cream of tartar sulfur tablets too when we were growing up. I talked with my Momma and my small town druggest, and both said the same thing. Whoever, quit making these gems a very long time ago. I was advised to try to find sulfur tablets for human consumption. Good luck y'all!

Sulpha drugs is a pharma process to make a compound that can be sold as a remedy for some ailments and allows them to make MONEY. some people using this formulation exhibit an allergy, primarily due to the compounding in the mfg process!! Virtually NO one is allergic to SULFUR . It is natural in the body and is a necessary mineral for some requirements in the body.. If no sulfur the body "borrows" other minerals to create the necessary cell derived molecules.. Sulfur is a natural antibacterial used by GI's during WWll for protecting wounds, infections etc. The tablets were used for "Boils" and other skin infections for children and anyone needing help. There are several methods for using sulfur compounds for natural cures but the FDA has essentially shut down the general use... I have researched this element (S-16) for many years and it is remarkable in the ability to reduce some problems!

It's about $70 for a Dr. Pill Punch pill press. You can make your own pretty cheap. Buy the sulfur from your local farm supply 5 lbs for about $15, and the cream of Tartar from Amazon (10 lbs for about $40). You will have to figure out the proper ratio, but it would be easy to make your own. DO NOT SELL!! The FDA closed down the people who were selling the pills because they weren't clean enough.. But for now, what you choose to eat is still YOUR BUSINESS. Good luck.

If you cannot find the Cream of Tarter tablets you can take pure Sulfur, element 16. The proper dose is approx. 1/8 tsp or .1mg by weight. This is the mineral and no allergies have been reported. Sulpha drugs can cause allergies due to the manufacturing process. I have used pure Sulfur for many years with no negative side effects and actually gained the benefit of skin problem reduction experienced by the use of Cream of tarter tablets! pure Sulfur (99.8%) available online! a small amount placed on the skin will show if an allergy exist. Have not found ANY with pure Sulfur...

Cream of Tarter Sulfur tablets are almost 100 years old, perhaps longer with variation. It is no longer available except through special suppliers... difficult to find.
The active ingredient is pure "Sulfur" element 16. The tablet equivalent is approx. 1/8 tsp taken orally... It works for a lot of symptoms (such as joints, skin, boils) as there is a lack of sulfur in our current food supply... See the post by Charlie on August 16.
