Suboxone Help? Insurance? (Page 5)
(Newest replies first)

Hi my name is Carrie and I'm from Hermosa Beach, CA.. I have been taking oral 8mg suboxone for months, as it really helps me and keeps me from popping 40 vicodin or norco's a day. I was on cobra with Blue cross when I began taking it, but it was too expensive. The cobra was 600 a month. Do you know of any independent rx coverage for suboxone? Right now i just paid 400 for 90 of them, and that's a one month supply. I'm better off taking the vicodins. I am disabled, but haven't gotten approved for medical yet. I have no insurance. If you have any suggestions, please help me, best regards.

I am currently on the Suboxone Assistance program. If you qualify they will send you a prescription card, I am currently covered 100% and pay NOTHING for 60 films/mo. Here is the number that is on the back of my card: 888-898-4818.
Good luck!!

Hi, I have insurance but am still worried about cost. And worried it won't really help me in the end :(. I'm scared. I have 20 percocets 10/325's left and that is it, to last me the next 18 days. I don't want to suffer. I also wonder if I can wean with what I have as I am really prescribed to take 5 a day but end up taking way more than prescribed. Do you have any suggestions for me? I would soooo appreciate it. My email is [email protected] [1]. Thank you SO much in advance. I just want to be normal again, and got addicted by taking it for real pain. Today I took 40mg, and was ok, just a little bit of an upset stomach and confusion/dizziness. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I currently have United Health Insurance and even though it does not pay for the office visit, it does pay the majority of my Suboxone prescription. I get 60 8mg/2mg a month and the retail for it is ~ $450. To make a long story short - I'm divorced now and will soon be loosing my insurance ( I was under my husbands ins.) Do you have ANY suggestions as to what type of insurance I should get or whom to contact to get the suboxone at a lower rate? Coming off the medication right now, is not an option . PLEASE HELP!

My daughter has been on suboxone for 1 yr and 2 months. The suboxone program only last for 1 year. We are now paying 646.00 a month. So she said the same thing cheaper to get high. I have almost lost her so many times to heroin. I have tried all the free meds and etc. nothing is working. Right before she got on suboxone she was on a ventilator in the hospital. We thought she was going to have her life back. It's like the pharmaceutical company gets you on it for a year and then you can't live without it. Shame on them. This is my daughters life.

I am a former heroin addict originally from ct now living in florida and tried calling several different locations which prescribed saboxin. All of which are out of my price range and i found out that it was actually cheaper to get high than it is to get help, unfortunatlly. However i did find somebody off the street that sells them for a reasonalble price. So keep lookin around and im sure youll come across a good connect wether its a doctor or a dealer but really, whats the difference.....ha

What happens if youve been on Suboxone Under COBRA Insurance which is about up for me and yu do not list it as a pre existing condition? Will they cover it or pull your policy. I am afraid to mention it as I might get denied. Any help would be great. Thank you

Yes, that is probably a good idea. You should see if you can obtain your state's medical coverage.

Have you contact anyone about it?

The makers of Suboxone offers a Paitens Assistance Program if you meet the requierments. I am on the program now. Also Aetna will pay for Suboxone. But they will not cover you if you tell them that your on it when you sign up.

I am not sure if there are any assistance plans that cover it, or not. You can try the manufacturers website or contact number, some other programs are

pparx.org

needymeds.org

and rxassist.org

Hopefully one of those may be able to help you.

To be honest, the COBRA price is much cheaper than the cost of the Suboxone treatment every month, however, I also realize it is still unaffordable.

Please post back and let us know how you are doing!
