i an a patient of veinous anomaly and had a focal seizure in december 2009 till then i have been given oxetol 300mg and 100mg eptoin in morng and 200 mg eptoin and 450 mg of oxetol in evening. is it toxic?? ## Oxetol contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazepine. You are on normal dosages of it, in the U.S. it is used in amounts as high as 600mgs per dosage. Eptoin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin. It is used in dosages as high as 300mgs per dose, so you're not taking a crazy amount of it, either. Suffered seizer on 1-8-2008 was initially on Eptoin OD subsequently doctor prescribed Zenoxa 750 mg OD no further seizure on Zenoxa for last one year. Want to know side effects of Zenoxa whether it is suitable for long duration. Thanks ## Zenoxa contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazepine, which is an anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer. All medications carry the risk of side effects, especially the longer you use them, so some will taper off and lessen in severity with time. Is anybody taking Oxcarbamazepine as a part of regular treatment? If yes, then please let me know so that I can share the effects of drug and symptoms of disease. ## my 4 year son is taking this medicine and having very infreqquent sleep pattern ,sowould like to know more about the sideeffects of this drug. ## I am currently 26+. As my experience goes, this drug was started with 50mg per day. For about 1month, I did not suffer any epileptic fit. After 1 month, the frequency of fits increased. When I again visited the doctor, he increased my dosage. Again I remained fine for about 1 month, after that the same problem recurred. This continued till my dosage reached the limit for an adult. So, this drug did not cure but suppressed my fits for a small duration of 1-2 months. Now the doctors...
