Orange Subutex 153 Half Moon Better Than Strips (Page 5) (Top voted first)

Updated

Yes, they are Subutex 153 half moon and the are shaped like a surf board. They work way better then Suboxone strips. People keep saying they cut the strips into millions of pieces, if that is the case you don't need them in the first place. This new one orange Subutex 153 half moon surf board shape ones last way longer, and work great (oh my god they work so great!) I recommend them to anyone using the white ones or the strips, they both suck compared to the new ones. Take it of leave it but it's the truth. If you take just a half it will last you two days...unreal.

Re: Jessyka (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

8 mg a day is a lot. Any baby will have withdrawal from that dose. 1 mg of buprenorphine is biochemically as strong as 16mg of methadone. That’s like taking 96 mg of methadone per day. A cut down to 2 mg by week of delivery should lessen the chances of dependent of the baby but there will still be residual effects. Best advice is to not have a baby while dependent on opioids but I know that’s not fair to say. The problem lies in the fact that an unborn baby receiving this drug via the umbilical cord is going to have a neural pathway already carved out in their brain that loves opiates due to this. The first time they take a painkiller like Vicodin for getting their wisdom teeth out or if they hurt themselves in a sport during adolescence is all but guaranteed to create a feeling of filling a void in the kid. This leads to cravings and addiction. Not to mention the fact that they are genetically predisposed to addiction more than others already via your contribution of their genes.
Sorry to get lost there but I guess I’m just warning that you should do your best to ensure they don’t take opiates even if surgery is required. There are local anesthetics that will numb the area for 3 days (IE Experil) it’s like Novocain but lasts for 48-72 hours. Hope all is well with you and your child and wish you the best!!

I would feel sorry for anyone having a baby while still on buprenorphine treatments, if I could not detox off before I got pregnant I would not expect my newborn to do very well,..or put any baby through any type of detox..I mean it if I couldn't do it how would you expect a baby to do it...just my options are detox yourself off before you think about bringing a newborn into this world, because if you cannot detox off don't bring a baby into the world of addiction

Re: Johnny (# 52) Expand Referenced Message

Best damn comment I heard in a long time..on top of that coming from a guy, way to go, I agree,..I mean if a woman cannot detox herself off buprenorphine treatment and then she expects her baby too?

Re: Concerned american (# 85) Expand Referenced Message

You are absolutely correct, for any woman who is thinking about having children, please detox yourself first, I mean if you cannot detox for the sake of your baby,..then don't expect your newborn to detox because of your own habbit subutex or suboxone. I know the doctors say it's ok, it's not ok .at all..it almost makes me I'll to think about a newborn going through any type of detox because you couldn't do it for the sake of a baby, yet you cannot detox first..it's a shame

How much did you take your first day? I've been using and want to stop so badly and I got prescribed the orange half moons and I'm afraid to try them. When do you take them? Do you have to wait until your in full withdrawal?

Anita, I would be frank w/ your doctor. Also, while I was breastfeeding, my dr made a point to let me know that the naloxone in suboxone is not recommended as they do not know the affects on the baby. I was on subutex during that duration and I never had an issue. My prescribing dr as well as my ob-gyn both seen subutex as the better med to take during this time. If I were in your position (as I was when I was breastfeeding) I would simply ask my dr for the subutex. Level with them. Honesty is the best policy. And today was my first account with the new orange half moons & in my opinion, they DO taste like the strips. However I was on the white 54-411 while I breastfed & they did not have that taste & they were easy to dissolve so perhaps you should try getting those instead. Good luck.

Cafdog, i hear you! They do seem to last forever. I naturally wake up between 6-8am at the latest and dose every morning for the past 5 yrs. Ive been on this medicine for 3 days and twice i forgot my morning dose until about 9 or 10 and I literally took it just to keep the schedule.. But now that I have 120 of these moons im going to start cutting back.

Depending on where you live, it can less or more difficult to find a doc willing to prescribe them to treat pain. But i Find, the right doctor - will be happy to hear your husband would rather be on bupe than percs...

My father is prescribed for pain, I am prescribed for addiction. + ive always heard and from my fathers experience, subutex works better for actual pain than suboxone anyways.

I recently picked up a new prescription of subutex at Walgreens and it was the half moon 153's I've heard mixed reviews on. When it started to dissolve ugh I literally spit it back out assuming the pharmacist had made a mistake and gave me the wrong medication! They taste HORRIBLE!!! I read somewhere that they are being made to taste bad to keep people from abusing? Idk if that is true but all I know is that they gag me. Does anyone else have the same issue? I will say that even though I spit most of it out I felt pretty damn good ;)
