Mazon Cream (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

for eczema, psoriasis- seeping, cracking, blistering skin- I personally used it from the age of 6 mos. in 1955 to 1988, then it disappeared from shelves- it was an over the counter cream and it really worked. At the age of 3 months my skin would swell, crack and seep a clear liquid- a pediatrician introduced the cream to my mother and at the time they had a bar soap, shampoo and cream-of which I used occasionally over the course of 30 years then all of a sudden it disappeared. I did have part of a jar I used sparingly and guarded with my life and I called the company that made the cream and they said that they took the recipe out of circulation. The jar is long gone- sadly and I do not know the name of the pharmaceutical company that originally made it. I now am entering menopause and my skin has flared up out of control and cortisone creams makes my skin thin and easily bruised beneath the surface which is just as unsightly as the redness, swelling and seeping but not as painful. I really long for a good skin product. Mazon was a beige cream that resembled the inside of a milky way candy bar and I believe if I remember correctly that it was a tar based cream. I have tried other tar based ointments but the oily bases tend to only create more problems- even cortisone ointment does not work only the cream- but prolonged use has so many other negative effects- as I stated above thin skin, easily bruised-like blood looks like elderly skin that has a blood spill beneath the first layer of skin and I also notice very hairy growth from the cortisone on the forearms- thank goodness I'm a blonde. Anyway, do you know of this product Mazon or one similar that has been known to have good results??? Help Please send me any information on anything comparable- have you ever heard of MAZON cream??? Is it available again, if so where?

I have been using mazon for years...it's the only thing that worked...I have alittle bit of psoriasis left on my arms and since I have paid for 3 jars from one place in canada and 1 jar from another I have yet to receive either the creme or my money back...they said they cannot get it in stock then they should not take orders for it until they do have it...I am starting to have blood cracks and discomfort...I need this creme it's the only thing that actually helped clear it up so well...now 3 years of using this creme is fading away because the weather takes a toll on me..If you find any place that sells it regardless of the price please email me assap

I had 2 cracked fingers when I was young. I am now 76. My mother took me to a skin doctor for many months and he gave me some kind of treatments under a light. Nothing happened. Finally my aunt recommended old Dr. Graham in Brooklyn. He suggested my Mom buy me mazon and it did the trick almost immediately. Would love to have it again for itchy skin. Don't know if it will work on that problem but I'd sure like to give it a try.

Am 62 and my mom applied it to my eczema from about 1-5 years old. I may be mistaken, but I possibly recall that some form of mercury was in the formula. I read the current ingredients and found no such substance now. Have my condition under control for over 40 years by bathing without using drying soaps and by avoiding excessive sweets. Good luck to all with this uncomfortable condition.

I was born in 1954. At age two months I received my first toxin; "dpt" "shot". Withing 2 days the toxins started to come out of my skin with the madness of non stop itching. The quacks diagnosed me with "eczema". I had this "genetic" "anomoly" for 44 years until I had come down with full blown cancer. Just what did the "dpt" "shot" do? It either messed with my digestive system or my waste management. In turn, the colo-rectal system was disrupted thereby causing the toxins to come out of my skin, hence; "eczema". The simple solution to the problem was to purge the toxins. When one comes down with cancer the commerce of cancer is NOT to detoxify and strengthen the immune system, NO; they destroy your immune system then try to rebuild it! Healthcare and cancer prevention amounts to two letters; pH. If you body is below 7.0 then you are acid. ALL herbs are alkalizing while ALL meds are acid. Not all meds are good but not all meds are bad. If I were you I would drink 2-4 litres of purified water per day, eat plenty of fresh vegetables and find a herbal laxative NOT exlax. Before long you should start feeling better however it may take several years to get "normal" skin.

You are correct. I remember it contained Mercury, and I'm sure that's why it suddenly disappeared from the market. But everyone here is correct - it seemed to cure any skin problem!

You can still have a mazon type cream made with a prescription in Canada. Products with coal tar can no longer be sold because coal tar is a carcinogenic and considered bad for regular use. There are lots of compounding pharmacies that can do the job!

The cream worked wonders. I kept the jar for small pins etc and finally tossed but did read ingredients and it contained mercury. Best guess is that is why it was suddenly taken off market and formula disappeared.

The mazon I used was beige. I ordered one from canada, it was pink and didn't smell the same.

Yes, Mazon had mercury in it. So did vacines (in the form of thimerisol) and contact lens solution (for gas permeable lenses). Thimerisol was a preservative. I don't think thimerisol is used any more, but I have a severe reaction to mercury (when I get an allergic reaction to handling fish, I figure that's why), and I think it's because I used Mazon ointment when I was young. It look me a year to figure out that the contact lens solution had thimerisol in it. Now when medical people ask if I have allergies, I always put "mercury," and they look at me like I'm nuts, and I have to explain why.
I don't know if mercury would affect your current problems. It is a poison that can affect the brain. The phrase "mad as a hatter" came about because hatters used a mercury substance to make fur hats and the fumes affected their brains.
I'm glad people here seemed to feel Mazon helps, and it looks as though the current ointment doesn't have mercury in it. It just seems to take the medical establishment too long to figure out what doesn't work and what's toxic.

Yes, I used Amazon Cream I had eczema. I had been going to the doctors to find a cure. I had used one salve after another that was mixed by a pharmacist that only worsened the condition until a friend suggested to use Mazon. We did and could not believe the improvement the following morning. The eczema cleared up.
Then again 20 years later once again eczema this time Mazon did not work, by this time cortisone was available. Now once again eczema has appeared and I wanted to try Mazon. Sorry I don’t have better news for you.

I used mazon as a child due to eczema. There are times I wish I could get a jar. I do remember a very stinky smell to it. But it sure helped my rash. In reading the articles here, I was surprised to learn it had mercury in it.

You can buy all 3 types of Mazon products here at a website for Granville Wellness...

Edit: product has been discontinued

I read your post and think I also may have found the solution to my problem. The prescriptions aren't helping and the side effects are adding up for me as well.

So glad to hear from someone who also used Mazon cream...I used it for my exzema from the time I was a baby until a teenager and now that I'm 60....it's really flared again...I'm going to try to find it as it worked so well and share it with my grandson and grandaughter who also have the same problem...I hope it works as well for them as it always did for me.

MAZON Cream should be available online by tomorrow for purchase. Word has it they don't expect the inventory to last long. There is apparently a LONG waiting list

I was born in 1950 and had serious eczema and many other allergies. I used Mazon and also loved the smell. I assumed they took it off the market due to the mercury in it. I wonder if the Canadian formulas still contain it. I have also had luck using acid mantle cream. It is not prescription, but you need to get it from the pharmacist. It is expensive, but lasts a long time and really works.
