I am a 63 year old woman. COPD [51% lung capacity] I have recently increased my intake of Amloc from 5mg's to 10mg's. Since then I my feet and ankles have started to swell to such an extent that it feels as though my skin is going to burst. Should I be taking duiretics? ## I have been taking Amloc 20mg for 8 months, now my feet and ankles are swollen. Can I use ADCO RETIC together with Amloc 20mg to help with the water retention in my feet?

I have been on Breo for quite some time but was given a trial of Trelegy. Used for 6 days but had thick mucus in throat during night and heavy deep cough, back on Breo for 4 days then completed Trelegy for 8 days. The following day had bowel pain and mucus (diarrhea) for 3-4 days then constant fecal diarrhea. Put on Cipro & Metronidazole then off Cipro and on Amoxicillin-clav. Extreme pain & diarrhea during night, went to ER. Given IV meds and sent home with Diphenoxylate/atropine. At that point diagnosed with diverticulitis but no explanation how it was caused (I have had it but ALWAYS could determine what set it off). Finished all meds with no relief so put on Cholestyramine. Been on it for 8 days now and finally getting relief from constant diarrhea. This entire experience ha...

I was given a sample of breo ellipta for bronchitis.. just bronchitis. I was on it for 2 days when I ended up in the hospital for severe heart palpitations, chest pain, dizziness, loss of taste.. I completely felt out of it. Elevated blood glucose and low potassium. I was told I was having a bad reaction to the steroid and it would take a few weeks. The heart palpitations and dizziness still come and go but are getting less intense. Panic attacks and depression are still rearing their ugly head. Has this happened to anyone? How long could this possibly take to go away? I have no previous health issues. 32 year old female in good health... So frustrated at this point. They gave me a holter monitor to wear for 2 weeks that I take off and mail back tomorrow. I'm afraid at this point it...

I have had one or two duds per box of Spiriva. That is when they do not rattle and the capsule breaks. I think it is due to drying out because when ripping the Bubble wrapped sets of pills apart they are so crappy that they are compromised when ripping apart. You can't see it and after they are exposed to air and dry out, they break wrong from being brittle and I don't know if they retain the medicine. I either skip it not knowing if I got a dose or I take two and run short. At $10.00 a pill there should be no failures. If they need such protection they should be in better wraps. I also have quick unexplained weight gain around my middle that is quite concerning. Quick headaches too. But this is also the first time I don't have constant pain in my chest and windlessness. But...

What do the letters COPD stand for? How do u contract COPD? What are the symptoms of COPD? What kind's of treatments are available for COPD? What kinds of medication is used to treat COPD? ## Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, there is no one way to contract it, someone may develop it after many years of smoking, years of dealing with chronic asthma, exposure to dangerous products they've inhaled, as well as other means, according to NIH reports. Some of the symptoms may include problems breathing, wheezing, chest tightness, and an inability to exercise. The treatments depend on what works for the person experiencing COPD, they may need to use oral medications to improve their breathing, inhalers, or even oxygen if it becomes severe. Are there any other questions? ## I am as...

I have COPD and was wondering if Ardosons will cause any adverse side effects to my breathing? I have 2 inhalers: Spriva (once daily) and Symbalta (twice daily). ## Ardosons contains Betamethasone, it is a steroid class medication that is used to treat allergic reactions, inflammation, and immune disorders. (An NDC link for more information: 66993-897.) The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including rash, nausea, headache, skin redness, and irritation. (In the U.S. it is most commonly used topically.) Symbalta is not the name of an inhaler? Can you please double check the name and post back? Thank you! And given you have issues breathing, it would be best not to take anything your doctor has not approved for you. ## In my first post I mistakenly mentioned that one of my in...

I was just given this relatively new drug today called Bevespi Aerosphere. I have stage 4 emphysema. Wondering if anyone taking this inhaler can comment either for or against this drug? Would love to hear what other patients have experienced. Thanks. ## The medications it contains aren't actually new, it is only this brand name and formulation that are new. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dry mouth, and cough. How is it working for you?

I've mentioned this once before and I will again. I've posted my problem with Spiriva and serious weight gain problems before, and have also told of my solution to solving this problem. I had gained over 25 lbs while taking this inhaler for 5-6 months. It seemed that each and every pound was only around the midsection and nowhere else. In spite of drastic dieting the "belly bulge" would not leave. It was after months of dieting I had had enough! Last winter, starting in mid December I waged war against this intrusion on my well being and went to war! I put my car up in the garage and went everywhere on foot including shopping and visits to here, ther and everywhere. I trudged through snow, ice, and freezing weather for 4-8 miles/day. Along with that I dieted down to the ...

Hello. I took Spiriva inhaler a couple of years ago for six weeks and gained an unsightly 22 lbs that I cannot get rid of. Even though I haven't used the drug in two years, while trying to lose the weight ever since, I just cannot get rid of it. Every pound has been on the midsection and nowhere else. Along with that is that I'm left with a distended abdomen that looks ridiculous. Even though a less common side effect it still exiists. Does anyone out there have experience with this type of problem, and if so can you help me, give advice? ## These really can't be side effects of the medication, if they are lingering so long after using it. Learn more Spiriva details here. However, there are other medical conditions that can cause these types of symptoms, such as Cushings syn...

My mother is a COPD patient for many years. She is under treatment for many years too. She is 84+. At present she has swelling on both her feet which is also painful. I took her to her Nephrologist who saw all her reports and said that all her reports are good and there is nothing wrong with her kidneys. Since her lungs are bad it is putting pressure on her heart which is also not functioning very well, hence d water retention n swelling. He has prescribed tablet "Q Shine" which he says is good for both heart and lungs. Want to know if there are any side effects? ## Have you taken your mother to a cardiologist? If she has fluid putting pressure on her heart and lungs, that could be congestive heart failure, according to the NIH, which requires actual medical treatment, not just ...

I was worried about the side effects but I took for 2 weeks and then I got flu like symptoms, a sinus like headache, and stomach pain. The Dr said I did not have a fever and saw no reason to prescribe an antibiotic. Sadly I also did not see any improvement in anything like my Shortness of Breath so I decided to stop. My question is: Has anyone had a headache from this drug and if so did it move from one side of the your head to the other. Mine seemed to be a sinus type headache and was to be over my left eye first and now over my right. I do not have any current sinus issues. Anxious to hear anyone's experience with the headaches. ## Hello, Denny! How are you? Headaches are a known side effect of this medication, along with cough, diarrhea and joint pain. I stopped taking about 5 days ago-tremors have greatly lessened. weill see about other symptoms soon I hope. also i didn't notice any change in breathing. I did notice an increase in mucous-that was continuous. even bringing up mucous didnt change or improve my breathing. Now i do not feel like i am drowning in mucous-feel much better. ## Hello, Blazer! How are you? Have things improved more, yet?
