My mother was on Lipitor for over 10 years, since 6 years ago she developed Alzheimer's symptoms, she short term and med term memory is gone, kept asking the same question. She has a lot of confusion and is not confident anymore. I saw the news about Lipitor 3 weeks ago, and test it by stopping her Lipitor med. 2 weeks later, she is 85% recovered! She is like a different person now, asking me detail questions about more complex subjects, and actually wanting to learn to use the remote control! I am glad to have her back in my life, she is back from Hell. ## btw she was only taking 10mg of Lipitor. It was taken as precaution only, she exercise regularly and eats very lean. ## Hello, St Leung! How is your mother doing? Due to the side effects that such a medication can cause, I just d...

I take Serepax, Lipitor & Co-Q-Max and Magnesium Chelate 750 daily. My question is: is is safe to take Gingko Biloba whilst on these medications? Thanking you! ## Hello, Christine! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between them, but you should double check such information to be sure. The only actual medications here are the Serapax and the Lipitor, the others are just supplements. You should, however, be aware that the Serapax carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take lipitor, lisinopril, celexa, vitamins B12, C, D, E, folic acid, fish oil, can you tell me hate is the best times to take them? ## A lot of it really depends on what works best for you and/or if your doctor has given you any special dosing instructions. For instance, in most cases it's preferred to take a blood pressure/cardiac medication like the Lisinopril in the morning, so it can help control your medical condition during the time of day that you're most active and will naturally experience the most fluctuations. And the vitamins, especially the B12 can give an energy boost, so they are usually best taken in the morning, so they don't cause insomnia. However, in some cases, the vitamin D can cause some drowsiness, especially in higher doses, so many people take it ...

What happens to your cholesterol levels when going off lipitor cold turkey? I went off of it two months ago and then got scared about my cholesterol levels. I went off by weaning. First, one full pill then 1/2 pill next day. Did this for almost a week. Then I went to 1/2 pill daily for a week. Then 1/2 pill every other day. Finally I stopped. I had no side effects except feeling great. My greatest concern is my cholesterol levels. Do they sky rocket and if so how much? Also, if I start a niacin, red rice, ubiquinol To regimen will this help. Can I take these while weaning off lipitor? You see, after I went off the lipitor I got scared and went back on it . Thanks for any help anyone can give me. ## Hello, Squeekers10! How are you? When is the last time you had your cholesterol levels ch...

Possibly some can get Lipitor for $4, but with my Anthem Insurance, my cost through CVS is now a $51 ripoff. This scheme is so tricked up, it boggles the mind. According to my CVS pharmacy, when the patent expired and the $4 co-pay started, Pfizer DOUBLED the price of Lipitor. So here's the trick. They say they are giving you $50 off, but it is apparently $50 off of the new doubled price. With Anthem, my copay is now more than $51, so I and others with Anthem (and likely lots of other insurers) now have to PAY MORE than we ever paid in the past. Ironically, I can still get Crestor for $25 with their loyalty card, so you can guess what I will do! It sure seems that Pfizer thinks consumers have no choices, are stupid, and won't be able to figure this out. Wrong! To add insult to i...

## please send info on lavocor asap--side effects--mood swings--negativity ## I'm curious as to whether or not this person was actually meaning to ask about Lipitor, which contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin? Or possibly Mevacor, which contains Lovastatin? The name clearly leads me to believe they meant some type of statin medication, these are usually the first choice for lowering cholesterol. Thus, I'm going to include the link to Statin details , so if they'd return, or if someone else is unsure of the name, they can learn more and possibly see which is the correct one. ## My daughter has been taking this drug for 10 days. I have been taking lipitor for about five years, and my last annual physical showed I am now pre-diabetic. I have an older sister, who was diagnosed with diabetes last year, and she had been taking lipitor for many years. There is no history of diabetes in my family, on either side, so I am very concerned that Lipitor is causing the problem. My doctor says I need to stay on the medication, that if I quit taking it, my cholesterol levels will peak. Right now I am in the low-normal range. In reading the studies on-line, it says if you quit taking Lipitor, there is a chance of getting a stroke. Nevertheless, I am determined to go off the Lipitor. Has anyone else done this, and can it be done gradually without side effects? ## Hi Maggie, I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience ...

This Rx for generic Lipitor- just checking the dosage as they are 1/2 size of the 40 mg I've been getting. Who is the manufacturer? ## The tablet says MX on one side & 121 on the other Who is manufacturer? What is dose? ## Hi, Chet! Thanks for clarifying! This tablet contains 40mgs of Atorvastatin and they are manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Learn more Atorvastatin details here. Mylan is a very reliable company and the size is really nothing to be concerned about, that can vary depending on the inactive ingredients a company chooses to use. taking lipitor 20 then got another script for the above ## Hi, Pam! I can see where this might be confusing. Atorvastatin is just the active ingredient in Lipitor, so it's the generic for it, but is still the same medication. This medication is most commonly used to help lower cholesterol and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Learn more Lipitor details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it dangerous taking Lipitor and Lyrica together, same day. ## I didn't find any interactions listed between the two, but you should double check this information to be certain. And, of course, you shouldn't do so, unless they've both been prescribed for you by a doctor. You can learn more Lipitor details here and you can learn more Lyrica details here. The main issue that you may experience would likely be a bit worsening of some of the side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness and dizziness. Have they both been prescribed by the same doctor?

generic lipitor ## Simbastatin: 80 Mgs. What is the price for 90 day supply? ## For anyone else seeking information, the name of the medication is actually Simvastatin, it is most commonly used to help lower cholesterol. Learn more Simvastatin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and joint/muscle pain. And this website does not manufacture, prescribe nor sell any medications or products, it is an information only website. Is there anything I can help with? Are there any questions?

I reacted badly to Lipitor 7 years ago after a stent placement. My doctor now wants me to take Atorvastatin 10 mg. I don't think that is a good idea. What are your thoughts? ## Probably not, if you had a bad reaction to it, since Atorvastatin is the exact same medication, Lipitor is just a brand name for it. Learn more Lipitor details here. There are other options on the market that you can try, if you need to lower your cholesterol and diet/exercise aren't working. Fenofibrate is one that isn't related to the statin class of medications. Learn more Fenofibrate details here. Did you ask what other medications you could take?

I received a Lipitor 80mg pill, large white round and fairly flat, with "R" on one side and 196 on the other. Since it is different from the one I had been taking, I wanted to be sure it was the correct medicine. What do those markings mean? Is this just the same medicine from another pharmacy? ## Actually, the tablet that meets this description with the R 196 marking is listed as containing 75mgs of Clopidogrel, which is used to prevent blood clotting. Learn more Clopidogrel details here. It is not Lipitor or the generic for it, which is Atorvastatin. Learn more Lipitor details here. Did you get this as a prescription from your pharmacy? If so, you need to contact them immediately.

Learn more Metoprolol details here. Learn more Lipitor details here. However, you might want to double check this information with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. What did you switch off of the Losartan? ## Lipitor and certain other medicines can interact causing serious side effects. My generic brand of Lipitor was recalled. CVS gave me replacement of above in the old bottom. Just wanted to double check the medication prior to taking it. ## The tablet in question contains 10mgs of Atorvastatin, which is a generic for Lipitor, so if that's the correct dosage, then you do have the right pill. Learn more Atorvastatin details here. You mean they just gave you back the same bottle? That's very unusual.
