I have been on Lipitor for cholesterol of 298. I occasionally take a Xanax 2.5 to help sleep and anxieties. What diet pill can I take to help speed up my metabolism and lose weight? ## Hi Michelle, If you're referring to prescription drugs, there's always Phentermine as an option; but I'd suggest staying away from fat burners, as they tend to put a lot of stress on the body, let alone the side effects of prescription ones. Have you just tried changing your diet? If your goal is to lose weight fast, I find juicing fresh fruits and veggies to be the quickest option, while at the same time you're also increasing many aspects of your overall health and well-being. So it's a win win situation in my opinion. I hope this advice helps! ## Can I take levothyroxine for low thy...

2 months ago I tripped in the louse - fell - slammed both upper arms onto floor hard! Very sore for a week or so. a month later arms still hurt - went to Dr, who took xray and said said it was in the soft tissue. now it has been 2 months and arms still hurt! I have been on lipitor for about 5-6 months and wonder if that might be why? I do have fibromylgia so hurt most of the time but this is different. Could the lipitor be delaying healing and causing continued pain? I am thinking about stopping for awhiel to see if it helps. ## Hello, Interestingly enough, joint pain, as well as muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, are all side effects of Lipitor. So I think you are right in assuming that lipitor was delaying your healing time and causing continued pain. Side effects referenced from: ...

I have recently started taking generic Lipitor made by Ranbaxy and I'm experiencing tinnitus. Has anyone else experienced this?? ## These statin medications are notorious for causing odd problematic side effects in a fairly large percentage of people that try them. Learn more Lipitor details here. It can take about a month for your body to adjust to the medication and for such side effects to start tapering off in severity. If it doesn't, or if it gets worse, then you should notify your doctor. How bad is it? ## It's been about 3 weeks and the intensity fluctuates. I've been thinking that if it doesn't improve I would stop the generic Lipitor for about 10 days or so to see if the symptoms decrease or hopefully disappear. My doc says he never heard of any problem with...

I have always had normal cholesterol but a year ago was diagnosed with a 40 percent blockage of carotid artery. I started taking atorvastatin 20 mg and this past March my new doc raised it to 40 mg. A month ago I started getting joint pain all over. My internist ran blood tests and I was negative for Lyme and RA. However, blood tests showed some indication I have inflammation possibly related to some form of arthritis. I will be seeing a rheumatologist very soon. Could atorvastatin be the cause? ## Hello, Isabel! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. And yes, these statin medications are very well known for causing joint and muscle pain as a side effect. In some cases, it's been so severe that the people had to stop taking the medication. I went off Lipitor at Dr's recommendation as the diarrhea was getting worse. ( been on it approx 3 yrs. The diarrhea after two weeks off , continues ...is even worse,.how long can I expect this...it is affecting my whole life.....of course during all this we are having remodeling done ( baths!!!!!) and my mother- in _law just died. ## Hello, Lass! How are you? I'm so sorry about the problem that you're having. Are you certain that the diarrhea was caused by the Lipitor? Did you doctor do any tests or checking? After 2 weeks, it would be unusual for it to still be causing the diarrhea, but everyone is different, so it is a possibility. Are you on any other medications? Have you experienced any other withdrawal effects, such as headache or chills, that the FDA lists?

My doctor recently prescribed Lipitor for me. I took 2 pills and had such a bad reaction I stopped it at once. I felt so spaced out that things did not appear normal. I can remember small things, like hearing my daughters voice but did not know what she said. Seems like some loss of memory and functions. I remember my son driving home but felt like we were lost and he did not know where he was going. Did not recognize places or landmarks. Has anyone else had side effects like this. It is scary and would like to know how long it lasts? ## Hello, Judy! How are you? No, those are definitely not normal side effects. As listed by the FDA, the typical ones include nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Have you contacted your doctor? There are other medications that y...

I took Lipitor 15 years ago for 1.5 years. It felt like somebody was burning the spot below my big toe on my right foot. It was happening for a while and I didn't realize that Lipitor was causing it. One day I just decided to stop it and the burning went away. Then again I started taking Lipitor after 15 days to see whether it is causing the problem .Sure enough the burning sensation started again and I knew then that the culprit is Lipitor. After that I stopped it completely and the he burning was gone but the inflammation and swelling on that spot remained permanent till today. As usual doctor said it is not due to Lipitor though my body knows it is. ! ## Hello, BR! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you've had. I was on a Statin for the past 5 years and have suffered with migraines for the past 15 years. For many reasons I decided to take myself off the Statin 2 years ago. I attributed my decrease in migraines by changing jobs and reducing stress. My doctor recently convinced me to start back on a Statin. I've been on it for the past month and have noticed for the past week I've had constant migraine pain. So I've decided to live with the POSSIBLE risk of heart disease rather than the debilitating pain from daily migraines. ## Hello, Even! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you had. First, I'd like to clear up a misconception, if you have high cholesterol, it isn't just heart disease that you're at risk of, you're actually at risk of a full heart attack, b...
