Is the Medihaler-Iso (Isoproterenol Sulfate) Inhalation Aerosol Asthma medication still available or has it been discontinued? I've tried most of the others and they really don't work. You really have to do too many repeat dosages to get relief and even then, it's not complete relief. Know what I'm taking about? Have any good suggestions? ## It is still available, though it is rarely used, since other treatments have been proven more effective, so it may be difficult to find a pharmacy that carries it. What you may need to do is ask if one can order it in for you. Which others have you tried?

can sotalol cause pursistant cough. ## Hi roger, Sotalol can cause shortness of breath or wheezing as a severe side effect. In such a case, it is highly recommended that you contact your doctor immediately to determine whether or not you should continue the medication or opt for safer alternative. ive been on sotalol since may of 2011 and my calfs and feet are numb or there just plane tired all the time. it bothers me to walk. i had an ablation of the heart in may. sotalol has improved my heart but my legs and pads of my feet hurt ## Are they swollen at all, or just hurting? Learn more Solatol details here. The reason I am asking is that there is some risk of developing congestive heart failure while taking this medication and that would start with peripheral edema, in most cases. Have you talked to your doctor about this, so they can check it out?

What atiovbiotics are safe to use with Tikyson? ## Hi Sue, From what I could gather, there are certain macrolide antibiotics and certain quinolone antibiotics that interact with Tikosyn (Dofetilide); however the prescribing label for this medication does not mention which antibiotics fall into these two categories and which one's don't. In this case, if you are looking into using a specific antibiotic, your doctor should know based on your medical records that certain one's may interact with your current medication(s). I would however suggest reminding him/her of this possible interaction just to play it safe when you are being prescribed something. I hope this advice helps!

Having considerable side effects while taking amidarone. Are there other medicine's that can do the same thing, but without possibly all the other side effect's. If you could give me some alternative's I would really appreciate the help. Thank You ## Hi Larry, It is important to know that all prescription drugs pose the risk of side effects. Whether or not you respond favorably to another medication is not something anyone else can determine ahead of time either, unfortunately. A few suggestions I can offer though for other similar drugs with antiarrhythmic properties are: disopyramide dofetilide dronedarone flecainide procainamide propafenone quinidine sotalol Those are just the generic names, but I hope it helps open up your options!

What is in these pills? How often should I take them? French or Dutch instructions will not do. I already have them and don't read either language. ## This medication contains the active ingredient Flecainide, which is an antiarrhythmic agent that's used to treat conditions such as atrial fibrillation. Learn more Flecainide information here. Has your doctor instructed you take this medication? The dosage can vary, from person to person, depending on the condition being treated and the severity of it, so I don't have a hard and fast answer for that. Normally your doctor would provide you with instructions.

I am 72 years old. I am about to start Flecainide. I have to stay in the hospital for 2-3 nights so that I can be monitored. I have an irregular heart rythm. I am being started on a full dose. I am really scared. I have read about possible side effects. I wish I could be started on a low dose but I am told that by strarting on the full dose I will be monitored to see how I am tolerating it, how effective it is in controlling the arrhythmia and what type of side effects I get from it if any. That way, if there is a reason to lower the dosage they can do it and not have to worry about monitoring me because they already know how I tolerate the full dose and lowering it would not cause me any problems. I am so frightened that I could be sensitive to this medication and a full dose may be to...

I believe Pacerone had a hand in the death of my husband is there a forum on that. ## I'm sorry for your loss. Our forums are just specific to medications, not any certain categorical discussions on them. What did he die from? Have you discussed it with his doctors? There are certain medical conditions that it should not be used with, due to some complications it may cause.

I am a HCM patient with irregular heart beat, age 43Ys, M. I had taken amidarone 200mg (1+0+0) with Concor 5mg for 3ys. 6month ago Amio was stopped due to side effects. My thyroid function test was not normal. It was hyper (TSH=0). After stopping Amiodarone I hve been taking Concor 5mg twice a day (5mg+0+5mg). Irregular heart beat was more or less there with a tollerance level, also my doctor told that recent Holter report/ECG doesn't show any dangerous types of irregulat beats. Recently my Thyroid test is normal (TSH=3.71) though I didn't take any med for this as suggested by my Doc. Now he wants to go back again with Amiodarone200mg once daily +Conconr 5mg once daily, and asked my opinion abt this. Is it ok to go back again with Amidarone? Seems to increase the heart rate when I trying to sleep! is this normal?? ## No, this is not normal, the possibility of developing an arrhythmia is actually warned about as a serious side effect and since the elevated heart rate could lead to it, you should contact your doctor immediately. Some medications just don't work well for certain people, so you may need to try something else. Are there any questions or comments?
