Information Needed On Ultram/tramadol Addiction
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I've been taking 50 to 100 mg Tramadol per day for 3 years. The prescription is for 200 mg per day.

I noticed that wehn I go a day with 0 mg I feel a little edgy.

Now I'm really worried becasue I had ankle surgery 14 days ago and I haven't taken the tramadol because I'm taking percocet. When the percocet wears off I feel very edgy, slightly nauseous, depressed and achey all over.

Now I'm afraid that when I run out of percocet I'll be really sick from the tramadol withdrawal.

Has anyone out there experience with tramadol withdrawal? How long does it last. How sever is it?

Totally agree with the tapering off of any pain medication. Or u will withdraw harshly. I have fibromayalgia since i was 17 im 43 now. Ive taken all kinds of pain meds through out years but tramadol has bee the most effective med for me. I learned hard way when i ran out of my meds w out refills. It was horrible. So i make sure i take it on time. And other meds i quit taking i never just stop i always taper off for safety sake, unless dr orders otherwise. For some reason they forget to tell u this lil importance peave of advice regarding withdrawal symptoms. In all my years not one dr mentioned it til i went in sick withdrawing didnt know what was wrong with me.
Isnt that something. Prayers and hope for the best for you !

What you are experiencing is normal if you suddenly stop taking something that your body is used to having. Even if you do not abuse it and are not an addict, your body does get dependent on any substance that you ingest regularly.

It does not matter if it is your morning coffee or glass of orange juice. You will experience ramifications if you suddenly cut it out, entirely.

As was advised above, your best bet is to stop slowly and you should consult your doctor for assistance to help protect your health.

I've taken Ultram 300 XR for several years now. I stopped taking it back in the summer to detox my body. I didn't experience any withdraw from it. I would be more concerned about the Perocets. Slowly decrease the dosage of the perocet and see how your body reacts. Keep us posted and good luck!
