Hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10/325 By Mallinckrodt (Page 5)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

My pharmacy changed my meds from the yellow 10-325 v 3601 norco to the 10-325 white m367 mallinckrodt. I've been taking the yellows for years with no problems. Today I started the whites and feeling dizzy, a little weak, kind of panicky. What is different about the two meds that would cause this?

Re: rockfish (# 105) Expand Referenced Message

what in the world are you talking about? are you a doctor or what? You make absolutely no sense and what is your point? Just because one manufacturer doesn't work the same way the other one did, doesn't mean the person has a mental issue now.

Re: madashell (# 104) Expand Referenced Message

Just do what I did ............call pharmacies in your area and ask if they use Norco yellow pills to fill prescriptions ..........that's how I found the yellow Norco again when the pharmacy I was using began to carry another name

If the Gov, medical field,FDA and whoever was responsible when they came out with these pills in the 90s, would have cared about the persons taking them Instead of giving them out like Candy to make Tons of money!

The difference is in the manufacturer and the colr of the pills. The only other problem would be I your obviously distressed mind.If I were writing that prescription,it would be time for you to be slowly taken off of it,due to your obvious problems. This is a narcotic medication and can cause problems with different individuals minds and, after some time using them,it is apparent you are suffering from a common form of psychosis this medication typically causes.I don't expect you will be discussing your insecurities with the prescribing physician, another sign of needing to be gently weaned off of them, with another medication perhaps with different properties needed in order to treat your problem affectively again without triggering your mental needs for the other medication, which should,if working, only cause a physical withdraw..

Re: Jusy (# 101) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for the info, I've skimmed through the Par website, will look more at it later. My doctor will write script for name brand but the (more than 5) pharmacies refuse to fill it with anything except malincrap. I'm contacting Par Pharm and will ask questions about availability, etc. Ideas?

And do what I did.............when my pharmacy changed names providing the pain med, I just changed pharmacies to one that was still carrying it

Norco is the brand name and the ones we get are the generic of Norco..........so they are coming from different companies..........the yellow Norcos are Parr Pharmaceutical and there are others that supply too but they are not yellow ..........the white ones are supplied by a different generic company for Norco than the yellow ones

I agree with you 100%. !! I have been getting so many nasty side affects! Like you I only take 1 type of pain med so I know when things are different. Why are we not allowed to choose what brand medicine we can take? Who put this nasty decision in effect? Or is it just more crap from the people who are trying to control pain meds? Such bulls***!

I hear now from a pharmacist that the reason only one or two pharmacies are carrying one or two pain med brands is the result of the hurricane in the Islands, where a good part of these pain meds have been made in the past...........and so, the companies that haven't been using those companies in the islands, but get their meds somewhere else still have plenty of the meds to sell.

Re: Lynn (# 91) Expand Referenced Message

They have DEFINITELY taken out more of the active ingredient and put in garbage!! I noticed 2 weeks ago the difference when I picked up my new script. I almost threw up when I took the first pill. SOMETHING is different!! Ive NEVER had that happened before. I am still nauseous and my appetite is gone and I have upset stomach!! I've been taking the Malinkrodt for awhile but this new batch made me sick!! If big pharm is trying to "control" the opioid epidemic by putting s****y ingredients in pain killers it needs to be called out!!

Where can I get a test kit!!

" But sadly, insurance will NOT pay for name brand drugs."

I contacted multiple pharmacies, mom and pop, you name it. Not one would let me purchase the name brand Norco or even another generic besides malcrap. I was told the only one they could give me was the malcrap. I'll pay the full price! Where do I get it? Now, we can't get our meds like we used to and have to settle for this substandard so-called med? we need to go to war....

Re: Verwon (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

I have been on Brand name Vicodin for 2 1/2 yrs and was told by Rite aid and Wallgreens that they stopped making my brand name and stopped me just like that! Then my Dr gave me script for hydrocodone same strength but is like it was sliced down middle! I would not even put it in my mouth! I've been trying to get a natural alternative, but no success! It has been very painful as I have chronic pain from Fibromyalgia, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Osteoarthritis, Bursitis, Tendonitis, Double Scoliosis, and my right leg being 1 1/2 shorter than the left making it
very painful to stand or walk. I can only walk with walker or cane but only short distance!

I went from taking 2 pills, 4 times a day(8) of my brand opioids to 2 pills at 10am and 1 pill before bed (3). After going through Hell for a few months! Ingot very sick for a month and a half with all symptoms of Pneumonia! Maybe withdrawal?? So so sick for long time, nothing to help weaned myself down cold turkey off them to 3 pills a day from (8)! Want to go on ULDN. and don't want any opioids ever again!

Personally, i think they have reduced the opioid level & more fillers & even placebos!! Request formula for your lot( rx).?? Don't know if you will get it or how long it takes??? You have the right to advocate for your health & always talk to your doctor!!
