Re: Marty (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I was diagnosed 3 days after Christmas with a DVT. My doctor put me on Eliquis and I'm allergic to everything but I have had no side effects that I'm aware of with Eliquis so far

Have been on Eliquis now for about 18 months. Initially had swelling of legs and feet but my system has adjusted itself now to this pill. I take 2.5 mg twice a day. Also take Furosemide. Apart from the unpleasant odour of urine and faeces I have no complaints. Steady body weight; I have to eat to keep that up. 5 ft 6, 118 lbs. I am 92. I am avoiding dairy and beef, and alcohol, and limit my coffee intake to one cup per day.
Also cut white sugar and white flour out. I am quite well considering my age.-.

What are the negatives of this drug? I have been taking it for almost one year! I'm scared to death to take it. My dr refuses to change it to Coumadin! At least there's an antidote to that.

I have been on eliquis for a little over a year. My blood test and cbc came back normal, but my doctor refuses to take me off this drug! I feel like i am on LIFE SUPPORT! He says it's possible i will have a stroke. I don't know what to do? If i would have known then what i know now, i never would have never taken this drug. They didn't tell me upfront about this drug! I am beginning to believe it's all about money!! $300.00 a month.

always look forward to hearing positive replies to the drug blood thinner Eliquis - but - it does seem they are few and far between - anyone can check that out. So to Update 6/18/17: Since Sept. 2016 over 9 months ago I was told the chances of my gettig a stroke or a heart attact were almost a given if I did not immediately take A VERY DANGERIOUS BLOOD THINNER CALLED ELIQUIS. I am an 85 year old female, previous long term tennis player, jogger, hath yoga instructor and always conscious of health issues, fortunately I have never been on drugs other than short-term ones e.g. antibiotics, so still happily holding out on ELIQUIS. All you 60 year olds how I wish!
fortunately I have never been on drugs of any kind other than short term antibiotics

Sorry Jerome, but this site is to help by informing others how the people who have taken the drug Eliquis have experienced it and what they did about it - 90% of what I've read has been totally negative - period. This blood thinner is a very dangerous element and read the comments of what physical harm and discomfort it causes. I take your snide remark as a photo of who you are - you see how easy it is to be snide - Good Luck - no thought whatsoever.

90% of the above statements that are pro ELIQUIS were made two years ago 2015 and is a bit of a stretch to use it as informative in 2017

I have been taking 2.5 twice daily for approx. 10 months. The only drawback I have had is fatigue, which may or may not come from the eliquis? But I am scared to stop taking it, because I have been told the same thing. (Stroke, heart attack, bleeding, etc.) I am 66 years old. Would like to see if it is safe or if I should stop taking it. {edited for privacy}. Please keep me informed. Thank you.

All you satisfied Eliquis users I have a news alert for you: T.V. headline "ELIQUIS BEGINS TO MOVE FORWARD IN FEDERAL MULTIDISTRICT LITIGATION". I for one am so grateful for so many people who shared the horrific consequences of taking this drug. It has been six months since that cardiologist told me to take this drug because my choice would be either "getting a stroke or a heart attack" if I didn't - period! Of course he didn't mention all the things that I might experience if I took this drug, in spite of my telling him I had had SIX NOSEBLEEDS the previous month. Again, do I thank the negative comments for holding me in suspension all these months - Yes, Yes, Yes I do!

Eliquis is being sued for blood thinning methods that are litigious.

Marty - it has been a very long time 2015, can you update your enthusiasm for the drug eliquis?

I thought once on eliquis - always on eliquis - I was completely taken aback at your comment about having to be on this drug 6 months only - logically that must mean YOU DO NOT HAVE AN IRREGULAR HEART BEAT, and you only need a "blood thinner" for a limited period of time, but for what?. I'd appreciate it if you could be more specific.
