Doctor To Prescribe In Tennessee

I need a doctor who will prescribe my clonazepam in Tennessee and will takes my insurance which is tenn care or I will self pay. My name is Susan and I have been on benzos 17 years. Now my doctor is winging me off and anxiety is horrible. Will someone please respond and tell me who I can call or even give me a list of doctors please?

Hello, Susan! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

General practitioners are supposed to change their prescribing practices for this types of medications, under request of the DEA. They have been instructed to either wean patients off, or refer them to a specialist, if they need to continue on a medication that's a controlled substance. Thus, if you need to continue on it, you'll most likely need to see a psychiatrist.

The FDA classifies this medication as a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Is there any chance your current doctor might refer you to someone else?

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Hello Susan, most people, doctors included have no idea the horrific withdraws of benzos, have been on this time about 3 years, but what i have found is that i would rather take librium for several days than prolong the agonizing withdrawals over a long period of time, actually im in the same situation,but left to my on devices i could never have them in hand and come down bit by bit,again just sharing my experience, Hope that helps some.
