Avoid Accutane At All Costs - Ulcerative Colitis & Chrohn's Disease Can Occur
UpdatedI took Accutane in the late 80's and ended up with Ulcerative Colitis - had to have my large intestine taken out. Roche developed this medication for cancer treatment during the 1970's and internal studies at the time, demonstrated a link between the medication and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. You can get it while taking the medication or you can develop it many, many years after you take it. Roche pulled the medication off the market in the United States during 2009 because of the strong link to Infammatory Bowel Disease. Currently, there are nearly 8,000 cases filed in the State of New Jersery Civil Court under a Mass Tort system. If you are taking the Generic version currently, you'll never be able to sue Roche or the Generic Companies - most states do hold alllow the Generic companies to be liable and you'll have no right to sue in a Civil court. When you sign off with your pharmacy and dermatologist, just remember: You may be signing a Death Sentence.
