Good morning. How long does it take for angeliq to be out of your system after you have stopped using it. I must go for a mammogram and draw blood to check my hormone level. At this stage I have a lump in my breast. My breast was very sensitive and sore. after that my breast became red and warm. Then I stopped angeliq. Now it's fine except the lump in my breast. I want to go to the Dr for them to draw blood and he must refer me for a mammogram. ## The half-life for Angeliq, which is the amount of time it takes to reach 50% of it's initial level in your body, is 36 to 42 hours, and it takes 5 to 6 half-lives to be fully cleared from your system, which would be 180 to 252 hours, so the maximum time would be 10.5 days. The FDA warns that stopping it abruptly may result in your expe...

what are the side effects when taking angelique pills/capsule? ## Angeliq is a type of hormonal replacement therapy, it contains Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol. Any type of hormonal medication, even contraceptives, could cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, weight gain and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi I'm On Angeliq, for close to two months, I have been bleeding for a month now some days heay some days light.

Does Angeliq cause weight gain? ## Hello, Charley! How are you? Almost all hormone risk causing weight gain, that's just a hazard with trying to adjust the natural levels of them in the body. It doesn't happen to everyone that takes them, but yes, it is a risk. You may also experience nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello l have been on Angelique for so many years, they cannot get stock any where, one good thing the pharmacy said that l should not on Angelique for so many years, l should be off it, one good thing they dont have stock to my benefit if that's the case, the only other thing would l gain weight if l stop !@ thanks

Hello, I was told by my pharmacist today that my prescription of Angeliq was unable to be filled because of production problems. I would be grateful for any news on this. ## Same problem in the UK. I could only get one month's supply. I had a 6 month prescription, only got 6 weeks worth of tablets left and I’m worried I’ll have to change to another HRT. I have tried other HRTs before and had very bad side effects with them. Have been on Angeliq for 7 months now and feel great on it. The thought of stopping or changes scares me. I have emailed the manufacturer but have had no reply yet. ## Have now recieved Angeliq, smaller pharmacy was able to supply them as opposed to Boots etc

I am on this drug but it is very expensive. Are there coupons out there or other options? ## Yes experience all symptoms of menopause my doctor recommended Angelique but to expensive is there another way to get this? Thank you ## Need to see if possible a discount on Angeliq ## I'm sorry, but the only coupon I found for this, from the manufacturer is no longer available. Angeliq contains Estradiol and Drospirenone, so as an HRT is fairly new to the market and there aren't any generic versions available. The only advice I can really give is to talk to your doctor about the fact that the medication is too expensive and see what your other options are. Are there any comments or questions? ## I started taking Angeliq almost a year ago. I think I've started on the wrong place in ...

After 5 years of taking Angeliq, I had to drop it from one day to the other after my mamography showed some microcalcifications. As a result, my sleep pattern has changed. I am sleeping between 0 and 3 hours per night. Has someone experienced the same withdrawal symptoms? ## Hello, Nadeige! How are you? Are you sleeping any better, yet? Yes, many woman going through perimenopause and menopause often have sleep issues due to their hormones, so it is natural that a sudden withdrawal of them would also cause it. The same can occur if someone takes a form of hormonal contraception and then suddenly stops. As your body readjusts, however, things should improve. ## Hi Verwon: Thank you for your answer. Yes, I am sleeping better, because I could not do without Angelique, the hot flushes and in...

I am 56 years old. I have been on Angeliq for just over 6 years and i feel i would like to stop the medication. My doctor said I can stop taking Angeliq in the Winter so as to not have to endure any sweats or hot flushes if they occur. So i am debating whether to stop at the end of May (I live in South Africa ). I would like to know if there will be any other symptoms I may experience, like bleeding and will it be heavy and will it happen every month thereafter? Will there be anything else that will affect my daily life and more importantly will it affect my very demanding job of being the PA to the CEO of the company I work for? Thank you. ## Hello, Chantal! HOw are you? You may experience bleeding from stopping it, but there's no way to say if it will be heavy, or how long it will...

I was on Angeliq 1/2 for 7 weeks and it was fantastic. My sweats had gone and I felt good and my aches and pains felt better. I then got a bad chest infection and fatigue set in. I am just not sure if it is the flu or the Angeliq that has caused the extreme fatigue I am now suffering. Would Angeliq cause fatigue 7 weeks into taking it? I have stopped it to see how I go. ## I am not a doctor, but my best guest would be that the fatigue is most likely due to the flu, or whatever viral illness you are suffering. The NIH does warn that you might experience it, when ill with one, along with headache, nausea, and dizziness. Do you take any other medications? What dosage of Angeliq do you currently take? ## am on Angeliq 1/2. I am feeling a little better but have severe pains in my back and ri...

I recently had to have surgery to remove a ovary and tube but in the end they removed both oavaries and both tubes. Lovely menopause as soon as I'm discharged. Doctor prescribed Angeliq. I didn't feel bad before taking it just had some major hot flashes I actually felt great. I've been on Angeliq one week and feel like crap! My hands and feet are puffy and swollen, killer headaches and joint pain in my back and legs. Should I give it more time to work? Right now I'm ready to call my doc and say enough. This is gonna get expensive trying to find one that works. Mine is temporary as in 3 months she's going back in to take the uterus and cervix. She didn't during the first surgery because they needed to wait in pathology. Anyone else have these issues with Angeliq? ...

I am 54 and my doctor prescribed Angeliq for atrophic vaginitus. Other non-systemic topical treatments were ineffective. I have been on it for 6 days and my main side effects are interrupted sleep and a mild headache. How long does it usually take for side effects to subside if they do subside at all? ## Generally, about 4 weeks or so, they should improve and subside, once your body gets used to the medication. The NIH lists other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and mood changes. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## Hi there, thank you for the response. It's day 10 and it's becoming apparent that the side effects are constantly changing. The dull headache just vanished and my usual almost daily headaches (bane of my life) have not put in an...

I am on my second month of taking Angelique and have started bleeding like a dark discharge. Also quite emotional all the time. The only reason I wanted to go on this was because of my hot flushes. How long will the bleeding last and is there anything else I can take instead of hormone tabs? ## Hello, Margie! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of HRT, according to the U.S. FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness and headache. Some SSRI antidepressants can help alleviate such symptoms, for example, in the U.S., Prozac/Fluoxetine is often used in low doses. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. It's something you could ask your doctor about trying. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I started taking angeliq four weeks...

Hello. I am 47 years old and have been on Estrodot for nearly four months without much success or change in my menopause symptoms. Can I go on Angeliq if I have had a hysterectomy and no longer have a uterus? ## You should take whatever medication your medical provider has prescribed for you, until they deem it needing to be changed. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. has there been any change, yet? Are you on any other medications? What condition necessitated a hysterectomy?

Hi. Please help. Basically which 1 has the least side effects for migraine like headaches, flu like symptoms, anger/irritability, weightgain, breast cancer. Which hrt is better/better tolerated/more popular and most importantly safer. My Aunty had breast cancer in both breasts, mastectomy. I had melanoma 5yrs ago, got 6.3 cholesterol. Would you even recommended something entirely different. Rather try natural. I'm 46 had a hysterectomy but still have ovaries but levels are super low

i am on Angelique for two weeks and has a family history of breast cancer. Is it safe to use it as i also had hepatitis A in 2014. But my liver is more than okay now. ## Any type of hormonal supplementation could increase your risk of cancer, including breast cancer, according to the NIH. Why was it prescribed? Are you on any other medications? Its other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms.

I forgot my Angeliq at home when going on holiday and skipped 4 days. I have started taking it again, but am experiencing head aches and bodily pain. Is this normal? ## Yes, that can happen, when you suddenly stop taking it, you may also experience dizziness, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms, according to the NIH. They should go away, after about a week, or so, of taking it, again. Are you on any other medications?

I've been on them for about four years, with no known side effects. However, my doctor told me to stop them now. I sometimes take one, every other day. He said to do this for a month, then quit altogether. Sometimes I'm skipping two days. This is my second week. I'm bleeding off and on. I've had a recurring headache for about three days and now nausea. I can't tell if I have a bug or if it's side effects. Certain smells are making my nausea worse, sort of like morning sickness felt many years ago. I'll be 64 in four months. ## It could be due to withdrawal effects from tapering down off of it, hormonal medications are well known to cause such issues, according to the NIH. However, given the bleeding at your age, you should have it checked out to be sure. Are ...

Is taking. Angeliq okay if I'm still having periods? I just turned 50 this year.....didn't get insomnia or night sweats until I started taking this ## Hello, Tracey! How are you? What are you taking it? It isn't necessary, if you're not having symptoms. Insomnia, night sweats, irritability, headache, and spotting can be normal side effects of this medication, according to the FDA.

Iam 45 starting angeliq is it allowed for woman in this age. I have all the classic symptoms of menopause. ## Hi I'm 45 my dr just put me on angeliq to I think it's ok peri menopausal ## It is sometimes used in people of this age, though there are risks, according to the NIH, it increases the risk of certain types of cancers. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia, and spotting. I've been taking Fluoxetine to help with my symptoms, it has been shown to help in a low dosage and it does not cause the same risks as hormone replacement therapy. Has anyone else tried Fluoxetine/Prozac to help with perimenopause symptoms?

I am self medicating with Angeliq because I live in South East Asia where medical treatment isn't the best. I found it absolutely helped with the horrific fright flight feelings I had prior to a hot flush descending upon me which was just terrible. Having stopped taking it after around 2 years, I am having mild flushes now and then but the terrible thing is I just don't sleep. I am thinking to go back on it but worry as I am 60 and not able to get mamograms and care how it might go. Any ideas or advise please. ## Wow! I am so sorry about what you're going through, being in perimenopause myself, I understand how awful hormonal issues can get. However, having high blood pressure, I cannot take hormonal medications and the best thing I've found that's helped so far is P...
