My doctor had me on Angelique for nine months now. I have decided to stop taking angelique cold turkey, now I have started bleeding. How long is this bleeding going to last and is it normal to have a bleeding like a period. I haven't had a period in 7 yrs now. ## Yes, that can be a normal withdrawal effect, when you stop such a medication, according to the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache and PMS-like symptoms. However, you should have things checked out by your doctor to be safe, especially if the bleeding gets heavy, or continues after a few weeks. Is there anything I can help with?

hello, I am away and rainout of Angeliq tablets. Silly me, but medical aid full of nonsense in giving another pack in advance, however thought a week off was not to serious. I have been off a week soon, and started bleeding after two days. A brown discharge then to red normal bleeding discharge. Is this normal. I have been on Angeliq for 6 years with supervision of my Gynae. I recently had a polyp removed and they are insisting that if another polyp re-occurs I should have the insertion of the Mirena ring which has less of the one hormone that causes polyps. I heard though that the Mirena has had major problems/side effects as do most tablets etc. Which is better? Any natural remedies as last resort.

I get nauseous when using hrt. Been on Angeliq for months and now nausea is starting again. Can i take Angeliq on alternate days to relieve nausea or is it unsafe to do that? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? No, it wouldn't be unsafe, so you can do that, as long as your doctor approves. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 56 yrs old and have been taking Angeliq for 8 yrs for menopause. I'd like to stop taking the pill because I have been cursed with multiple yeast infections this year. If I stop taking Angeliq will the infections subside? Also I have trouble sleeping? Do I need to taper the pills? I'm worried that it will effect my sleep that I need so desperately due to anxiety issues that I have been fighting for years. Anyone have trouble with either one of these issues? ## Hello, Donna! How are you? The most important first step is to have this checked out by your doctor. There is a chance the infections have been due to the Angeliq, but there is also a chance they are unrelated. And a slow taper is best, suddenly stopping it may cause withdrawal effects, which as listed by the FDA, may ...

I am trying to find out if the hormones in Angeliq are synthesized in a laboratory or if they come from pregnant mares? I won't take any medication that involves animal suffering and feel very strongly about HRT and how many horses suffer to decrease our symptoms. I have done a lot of internet searches but nowhere can I find out how Angeliq get their hormones which makes me think it might not be in a humane way.

I just realized i miss my daily dose of angeliqu yesterday! I took my dose this morning. Should i tKe yesterdays today too? ## Hi Kay! Just continue on taking them every day. Some people double up and some don't. It wouldn't hurt if u decided 2 double up. But usually if u miss a dose of pills, you would just take it as soon as u remember, unless your close 2 the time. 4 your next dose. ## @Kay, I realize Cats68 already responded, but if you need any additional clarification, I did come across some facts from the manufacturer that may help. According to the manufacturer's webpage, if you miss a dose of Angeliq (Drospirenone + Estradiol), they recommend taking it as soon as possible. However, they also go on to state that, "if more than 24 hours have gone by since your mis...

I am currently on Estrofem Hormone Replacement. A friend is on Angelique and says it has allievated all of her systems - I find that my moods are still pretty all over the place and she said that Angelique has helped in all aspects of her menopause. Should I change to Angelique? Is it better or different to the Estrofem? Thank you. ## am currently using angeliq and its eating up all my savings, I had my ovaries removed, is there a cheaper hrt on the market i can use instead of angeliq?

Do I need to take Angelique with meals or at certain time of the day? ## No, not necessarily, but taking it will food may help minimize some of the side effects it can cause, such as nausea and dizziness. And you should try to take it around the same time each day, basically keeping each dose as close to 24 hours apart as possible. Are there any other questions I can help with? Learn more Angeliq details here. ## Will I put on weight taking these pills?

I take angeliq daily - I made a mistake and started this months pack at the wrong end.and i have just realised after 11 days. What should I do now? ## There is no different in the dosage of the tablets from one day to the next, unlike some hormonal contraceptives, so you can just continue without any problems and there's no need to worry. They are only packaged that way to try to help people remember to take one each day to try to avoid them missing any doses, but it really doesn't matter which end of the pack you start from or even if you'd start in the middle. Learn more Angeliq details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## thank you that is good

I started second packet of Angeliq and after taking the second tablet on the 30, I started with a brown discharge and then started bleeding, not hugely but everyday since. Is this normal, will it eventually stop? Not sure what to do. ## This is a hormonal product and it can be normal to experience such side effects for the first 3 months of use, while your body adjusts to it. However, have you consulted your doctor about it?

Can anglique be used as an oral contraceptive aswell ## Angeliq contains a form of Estradiol and Drospirenone, it is a form of HRT and no, these are not designed to be used as contraceptives. When on HRT, it is advised that women use another means of non-hormonal contraceptive. Are there any other questions? ## I have been on Livial for some time and am still having hot flushes and sweats. Would Angelique be better for me?

I'm 53, post menopausal and my hormone levels were checked and all very, very low - I've been taking bio-identical hormones (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone) since July but today my dr put me on Angeliq. Wondering what others think? ## My doctor just gave me angeliq also. I notice it decreases testosterone...yuk! I like testos. Any comments? ## My circumstances are very similar to yours and I was also put onto Angelic. My body also seemed not to absorb that !! I do not know what the next step is as I really want some form of Estrogen. Please let me know if you find something better

I have been taking Angelique for about 9 months. I am 57 years old and was having extreme vaginal dryness and hot flashes. Two months after beginning Angelique, my mammogram and a sonogram showed cysts in my right breast. 6 months later, one cyst had grown by 5mm. The cyst was aspirated and benign. My doctor says it is my choice if I want to get off the Angelique. Will I be facing multiple cyst aspirations and possible cancer if I continue the Angelique? ## There is no way anyone can give you a definitive answer to that, hormones have been known to cause these types of problems in some women, but there is also no way to say for sure that cysts would not have developed if you weren't taking it, either. Angeliq is an HRT that contains Drospirenone and Estradiol and HRT is not recommen...
