Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325 (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?

My wife is suffering horrible pain because our local pharmace gave her Amneal Hydrocodone 10/325 for the first time this week. It's like she is taking nothing. Amneal needs to get their act together. I am calling the pharmacy to make sure she never gets these again!

I have been on Hydrocodone for RA and connective tissue disease for years. After the rescheduling in Oct 2014, I have tried 3 different pharmacies to get my script filled ( I go to a board certified anesthesiologist specializing in Pain Management) ever since the rescheduling, many of his patients ( including me) are being told by local pharmacies that they are "out" of this drug & no idea when they will get a shipment, all said it was on "back order" Does anyone know why this is happening? I find it disturbing that people with legit illnesss that are law abiding citizens and subject to drug panels to make sure we are not criminals are being denied pain relief from diseases that we did not ask to have! Any information will be appreciated

Good luck I have same problem. It's about the mighty dollar. I was on the 10/325 since 2008. Then they game me watson which are worthless. now I'm forced to try the Amnea brand. They are changing to the weaker white ones due to they are cheaper for the pharmacies to purchase. they do not care what we need. Again it's about the mighty dollar and I think we are stuck. I have called well over 50 pharmacies but to no avail. Wish u luck. we are all gonna need it.

Hi, I just picked up my new generic Norco also and it is the Ameal brand. I have noticed they don't work as well either. I too am tired of the stigma with pain meds. I almost feel like a criminal when I get my Rx filled. But, when I have to work another 5 yrs I do what it takes to get through the day. Have a good one.

Yep.this is exactly what is happening to me and my mother. Something is not right. My pharmacist said many people have complained of this. Scary when you are hurting.

Yes my pharmacy has replaced my Watson norco script with white pills from Amneal. The difference is horrible! The Amneal is absolutely useless. I don't know why but they do nothing for my pain. I'm sure the pharmacies are doing this to make more money, but I for one want my Watson brand script back. This company should be investigated.

A patient is taking Norco 10/325 (manufactured by Amneal) and is not feeling better. She is 93 and has multiple medical issues. Her generic pill is oval, white, and is stamped IP 110. Have others experienced the same effect from this drug not relieving pain?

I have seen 3 podiatrist and had 4 cortisone shots. I have been prescribed 3 different anti-inflamatories with no relief. I have been diagnosed with plantar fasciosis which is simply chronic plantar fasciitis. My podiatrist told me that my fascia is so inflamed and swolen that I need to have it removed. Then I will be crippled, not that I don't feel that way anyway. I don't enjoy taking narcotics for he pain but I cannot even walk 100 feet without needing to sit down. Anyway I got off on a tangent. When i talked to the pharmacist, she told me that they are getting calls weekly if not daily about the white hydrocodone not working for them either. I have also seen other threads about the blue loratabs 10/500 now being white as well. People taking these are having the same complaints about having no pain relief. Guess I need to contact the manufacturer.

I have the same script and my normal pharmacy carries the m367 on them. They dont help me either. I had to call around and ask the pharmacist what kind they had, finally i found a pharmacy that carried the good ones. I have came to the conclusion that the yellow ones with v on them manufactured by qual are the best.

I went to the doctor yesterday for a very painful shoulder condition. He prescribed me hydrocodone 5/325. When I got home I took one, and felt no relief, I felt nothing at all except for my horrible shoulder pain. I took one more, and I felt a very slight relief from the pain but that was it. I looked at these pills and saw IP 109 and found out they are the Amneal brand. I am going to contact the company to let them know this particular generic barely works. I wish I had known about this beforehand as my shoulder pain is quite severe.

I have noticed a difference too. I picked up my m367 refill and since then, after a day or two, I started not feeling well. A couple of weeks have passed and I'm extremely sick and in pain. I was thinking maybe the variation of 20% the FDA allows in active ingredients is messing me up. With all the new laws and talk, it would not surprise me that this manufacturer is purposely cutting back, to aid in getting people off of the medication. It's hurtful if it's true.

I cannot agree with you more. I fought for many years not to take any pain medication for my Fibromyalgia and my neck pain and the migraines from the pain got so intense that my doctor literally had to force me to start taking something for the pain. In the last 3 years that I have taken literally ONE norco a night, I got a better job, got promoted in less than a year, and bought a beautiful house. In other words, it made me a functioning human being again. I happen to do well with the Qualitest yellow Norco as I also went through a HUGE spell of these awful generics that would hurt my already bad tummy, give me terrible headaches and no pain relief. I live in the Sacramento area and just recently the only pharmacy to my knowledge that carried this brand no longer does. I had my Dr. write a prescription for the "yellow only" and there is no pharmacy and I've been to them all, that will either A) order it for me, or B) carries this brand. Because of this, I have had to start taking these awful generics again and am recently trying the Amneal which are not good. My stomach hurts, it burns my stomach terribly, and again gives me even more of a headache than I already have and no pain relief at all.

It's a shame that the people like us with REAL pain on this thread who's lives have been changed by this medication are treated like addicts and the carp of society for taking medicine that HELPS us. This medication changed my life and now I'm hearing they no longer carry my brand and are reducing the medicinal quality and function of this medication in general? I mean really?!! Over the last month I am slipping back into being a sick, non-functioning, lifeless person just living and breathing with pain again. I would love to see these people that are making these decisions be on the other side of the fence and live with pain and then tell me that we are pathetic and don't need it. It's nuts, it's disgusting, and I feel for all of us here.

If someone does happen to know a pharmacy in the Sacramento area that carries the Qualitest please let me know. Heck I would drive a 100 miles just to get my brand to help with my pain!! Otherwise, Amneal in my humble opinion, you mine as well just take a placebo pill because that's all it is, a sugar pill.

Same results with Amneal, seems to dump everything out all at once and then poof. Made me sleepy and lasted about 45 mins. Avoid at all costs.

Every since the manufacturers started getting sued by non profit groups and, worse, State's Attorney Generals Offices they have basically changed the formulation of their generic opioids to be essentially worthless. An over the counter Tylenol or Alleve works just as well. Aside from lowering the amount of opioid medicine in a prescription the manufacturers have tried to change the molecular structure of opioid medicine to take out all of the properties in opioids that might give a person a feeling of euphoria. The bad thing is as they changed the formulation of the opioid medicines they also removed any benefits received from taking pain medication. They have reformulated the "good" (meaning effectiveness, NOT getting a "high" out of pain medications) out of the pain medications and left chronic pain sufferers with medications that are mainly worthless and ineffective. We are in such a negative political climate right now. BOTH political parties are kowtowing to the loudest whiners in the public. Although the whiners are actually in the minority they yell the LOUDEST so they are the ones that politicians listen to. The fact that no Attorney or class action group of Attorneys will come close to touching this issue should speak volumes. Normally, these Attorneys would jump all over ANY issue that they see a payday from they will not touch this issue because, even though, this is an easily winnable case, the political costs would be high too. We are so screwed right now. The government tried to outlaw alcohol through abolition and all it did was set up an underground black market for beer and whiskey. Anyone that is familiar with the "speakeasys" know what I mean. Instead of just stopping pushing Doctors to prescribe pain medications and stipulating that it is now known and understood that pain medications are addictive or, at the very least, create dependency for long term users the manufacturers have tried to reformulate everything and that has made pain medications basically junk and worthless.

I go to a pain center, and I asked my Dr to write Patient prefers Lupin Pharmaceutical Brand. I usually don't have a problem, but I do check my prescription when paying the pharmacy. If it's Amneal Pharmaceutical brand I give it back. My pharmacist orders Lupin for me. The 2 medications can be tested by a chemist,& they're not the same strength. Amneal doesn't help my pain at all! Give that a try..I really hope it helps you! Terrible to have to even ask because it shouldn't matter which company makes the medication..

Amneal is pure garbage!! It’s made in India and who knows what type of s*** they are putting in it. Tell your doctor and tell them you want another prescription. Make sure the pharmacy you use is not pushing the Amneal garbage. I had my own bad episode with it.

Yes. They are different. Pharmacists tell me many patients say they do not get any pain relief with these. Talk to my doctor...and TV reporter

Re: Denise (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

You are right that is exactly what they are trying to do. Plus during the quality lacking the price has doubled! But this is a fact, generic companies can legally use 80% of the active ingredient. They aren’t even bound by law to use 100% of the active ingredient. So the people are being robbed of both their money, their time that could be spent pain free and they are robbed of valuable HOME / WORK times.

I was getting Hydrocodone from Walgreen's and the manufacturer was Actavis. The pill said Watson but Watson sold out to Actavis and the pills were not working the other day. I went to get a script filled for the Hydro at Walgreen's and they changed the manufacturer to Amneal. Well, these are not working and they give me a headache. I think all these manufacturers need to be investigated. They are playing around with pain meds by lessening ingredients.
