2172 Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 5-325 Tb Mfg. Actavis (Top voted first)

Updated

I am reading a lot of complaints about this drug. I was taking Watson 3202 5-325 for pain and it worked for my pain. Now Actavis makes 2172 in place of Watson 3202. I don't see any difference.

Thank you. The World Health Organization has a reporting page for pharmaceutical companies and generic companies giving kickbacks to Walgreens while they know some of the drugs are substandard. It is a corporate decision not your pharmacist.
Report it and demand changes worldwide.

I filled out a report with the FDA, for hydrocodone/acetaminophen manufacturer Actavis pill number 2172. Having spoken to Walgreens, I called Fred Meyers and they sell the M365 version, which works. Being that we have to have a script for this medication, why not go somewhere else? The more of us that fill out FDA medwatch complaints, the better.

Re: David (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Since your original post was almost two years ago it is difficult to tell if there have been any changes in the Actavis brand that is germane today but based on all of the recent complaints on the Actavis brand it could be a safe bet that Watson (who bought out Actavis in 2014) has changed the formulation dramatically. The poster back in 2016 that stated that the Actavis brand was no different from the Watson brand may now have a different opinion. This so called "opioid crisis" has made the manufacturers of generic pain meds so anal that they are producing pain meds that are so ineffective that they are notably worse by MOST long term people who have been prescribed (and use responsibly) pain medications. When it is stated by ONE person back in 2016 that they notice no difference between Actavis and Watson and there are hundreds of people that say that they do notice a difference that means that there is something probably going on now.

Some people may be more sensitive to different inactive ingredients than others. Their bodies may also process/metabolize these ingredients at a different rate, affecting absorption. However, the amount of active ingredients in generic drugs is rumored to fluctuate by up to 20% more or less. I don't know if this varies from batch to batch, but I'm glad to hear that someone else is having a good experience with the 2172 pill, as it goes to show that everyone really does react differently, despite the nay sayers calling it a placebo by comparison to Watson's older products. Please keep us all posted on how it continues to work for you.

The Activis 10-325 oxy Generic is a joke. I've had surgeries and chronic back pain. The Walgreens Pharmacy Manager laughed at me when I told to stop giving me the brand. Gave her pages of complaints. Finally ordering me a different brand. 3 months of this, in Sahuarita Az. This pill should be taken off market but Walgreens has contract with Acticis or Watson and Pharmacy gets paid. All this crap about narcotics over use is a farse. The doctors have good intension but a Pharmacist playing doctor can screw up your ability to get pain relief and lead a normal life. Some morphine brands are the same with bad mfg s. Go to your pharmisist and make them give you good mfgs.

Actativs is the maker of Norco or I should say Allergan is the maker. If the pharmacy doesn’t give it to you request it and get your insurance and dr to agree with it. Or you will take 5 Tess vrs to 1 Allergan, Pay attention when you get your Norco. You don’t want Tess brand. JUNK believe me when I tell you. Suing Walgreens and Pharmacist over this.

I go to another pharmacy, and ask what brand they sell, after all, they make us go to the doctor and get a script, leaving us free to go anywhere. Actavis changed the formula, it used to have pink spots when it worked.
