I was prescribed fluconazole for a yeast infection after taking antibiotics. I took the first dose two days ago 150mg. I have taken one 150mg Fluconazole tablet to treat a yeast infection as a result of taking antibiotics. On the last night of taking my antibiotic I was in so much discomfort that I decided to take a Fluconazole to treat the thrush on the same night. I took my last antibiotic around (7pm and the Fluconazole much later at night before going to bed.) The symptoms have improved slightly within the last three days but I am still experiencing a very watery large amount of white discharge and red/soreness in that area. The Fluconazole I was prescribed had the instructions written by the pharmicist saying "Take one immediately and one in a week if required." Was diagnosed with a yeast infection last week. I took a 150mg dose of Diflucan on Thurs. night. It’s been 4 days and the symptoms have improved a little but I still have slight itching and tenderness. Is that a good sign? From what I hear and read, symptoms (itching) are suppose to clear up in 3 days. I also have discharge today. Can it take a week to fully clear on one pill? I'm nearly 5 years in from my breast cancer diagnosis... I was 34 I'm now 39 and at the end of October it will be 5 years clear! My issue is I've had no side effects apart from slight weight gain and bad skin or skin changes, I've ended up with hyper pigmentation which I'd never had before not even during pregnancies but my worst side effect by far has only been affecting me for the last year and a half but it's pretty much constant uncomfortable feeling down below like when you have thrush, it's itchy and annoying but also lots of discharge much more than normal... Ok so i used tho medication and got what i would like to think is a yeast infection. Thick white skimpy discharge but without the smell or itch. And i went to my GYN and was testednegative for everything but e coli wwhich was why i took it. But now there is this discjarge so i am now using an over the counter 3 day monistat to hopefully clear the symptoms and side effects of the medication. I am on day 4 of this 10 day antibiotic and have started noticing symptoms of a yeast infection. I'm wondering if I can take monistat 1 or 7 while on the prescription or if I should call my doctor and wait till after I'm done. ## Yes, you can use Monistat, unless your doctor feels you should not do so. I was recently treated for a yeast infection at the ER nd two weeks later I went for a follow up with my Dr , I was told I have a uti however I have bk symptoms. I was prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 , I'm on day 5 nd I've noticed a white milky discharge. Is this normal???? ## "NO SYMPTOMS" ## A white, milky discharge would be more indicative of a yeast infection. You may have had one to begin with, been treated for it and got rid of it, then you may have gotten another one from the antibiotic for the UTI, it's almost a vicious cycle. Hello. I have been prescribed Azithromycin for a severe case of strep throat. I am on day 5 of the weeks supply of the antibiotic. My symptoms have only slighty improved and since day 1 of being on it I've developed a yeast infection. I was also given Fluconazole by my doctor. When can I take the Fluconazole? I'm afraid of drug interactions and most of all afraid that the Fluconazole will have no affect since I still have 3 more days of the Azithromycin.
