I have zero energy, but after I take my morphine subscriptions(er15mg 2 times a day, ir15mg usually 1 to 3 times daily) an hour later I get enough energy to move. I'm interested in what body process causes this and why. I have taken this 10 or more years. Thanks ## Hello, Valerie! How are you? I'm sorry, but I don't really have an explanation for you. It really just depends on your body and how it reacts to the medication. Not everyone experiences energy from it, when I was on Morphine years ago for pain management, it always did the opposite to me and I couldn't stay awake. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am taking 10mg Oxymorphone twice a day, with Vicodin 7.5/325 for breakthrough. If I have occasion to need the Vic I take 1 tablet and it knocks me out the first day and renders me too drowsy and weak to be useful for 2 or 3 more days! Any advice/suggestions? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? All narcotics can cause sedation and drowsiness, so there's no way to say which one won't cause you such a problem. Everyone is different and the only thing you can really do is try other ones to see which one causes you the least amount of problematic side effects. Percocet might be an option that you could discuss with your doctor. It contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and the Oxycodone tends to give energy to more people than many other narcotics. I am always tired. Looking for energy. Friend gave me a fentanyl 75mcg patch. Will that give me energy? ## Hello, Mozzy! How are you? No, the FDA classifies Fentanyl as a narcotic analgesic and it can cause dizziness, drowsiness and fatigue as side effects, along with nausea, dry mouth and constipation. This is also very potent and should not be used if it wasn't prescribed for you. If you are not opiate tolerant, you could easily overdose. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have narcolepsy and was taking Suboxone strips. I got tons of energy but my insurance stoped covering them and switched me to this generic white pill with N8 on it and an arrow on the back. It gives me no energy ??? ## Has it been prescribed for this use? That's not something it is normally used for, since its possible side effects can include nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness, according to FDA reports. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. My husband was prescribed Percocet for pain. When he takes this drug at night, it causes him to wake up every 1 1/2 or so. Is there something in this drug that would cause this? ## It shouldn't, it contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, it's a narcotic pain reliever and one of the most prominent side effects it causes is drowsiness. ## i also had taken percocet..one of the side effects is..may cause sleeplessness..if persistant or bothersome..contact your doctor..may give an alternative drug for pain ## Some people do have an opposite reaction to Oxycodone and get a charge of energy from it, instead of the drowsiness, which is why some people enjoy it and abuse it. You should probably speak to his doctor about having your husband try something else. ## I have used it temporarily ...
