Have just been prescribed Trepiline for Lupus, I am already on prozac are they compatible ? ## Hi, Luppy! How are you? No, these two actually aren't considered compatible. They can both increase the level of Serotonin in your brain, which can lead to a very dangerous condition called Serotonin Syndrome, this condition even has the potential to be fatal. I'd really suggest double checking with your doctor, before adding the new medication. Adding additional complications isn't something you need to be risking.

I am on stresam 50mg and have now gotten a trepiline 10mg prescription today to take at night before bed. Is it safe to use both together? I would like to know if one can take Trepiline and Aterax in combination ? ## Trepiline contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, it is a tricyclic antidepressant. Atarax contains the active ingredient Hydroxyzine, it is an antihistamine, used to treat allergic reactions and for its sedating/calming effects. They can be used together, but you should know that using both at the same time can cause additive effects, so you should know to watch for certain signs of possible problems, such as: blurred vision, fever, disorientation and hyperactivity. Were they both prescribed by the same doctor?
