What Drug Can I Compare Tylenol 3

How does T-3 30mg codeine relate mg to mg to hydrocodone and Oxycodone? Working on a weaning program after spine surgery. Prior to surgery I was on high doses of Oxycodone for quite a long time. Pain mgmt Dr is a joke, I feel they are looking at keeping me as a patient, I just want off all pain meds. It would be helpful to know how they correlate to make as smooth as possible ride down to zero mg/day. I am hoping once I get to zero if there is any pain, that my body can adjust with endorphins. ## I forgot to mention, so far I have made a reduction by 70% per day. Now the w/d symptoms are getting rougher. Yes, I know there is a danger from high doses of acetaminophen. Why I was switched to Oxycodone over Hydrocodone a long time ago. Hydro condone is Vicodin and I believe the oxy condone is a bit stronger. I use 2 b on hydro condone and later they have me oxy condone b cause it would work better . If Tylenol #3 has 30mg of codeine, why are the other meds with 10 mg stronger? ## There are so many generics available for these, now, plus the fact that Codeine is so mild compared to other pain treatment mediations, that there isn't really any name brand for most of them, anymore. They are generally prescribed as Acetaminophen with Codeine, with the appropriate dosages listed. The FDA lists this as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. does anyone know how the 5, 7.5,10, compare to millagrams such as 30mg.. ## The numbers you have posted (5, 7.5, 10) refer to how many mg of Hydrocodone (the active narcotic ingredient) are in the med. Vicodin contains two major ingredients: Acetaminophen (found in Tylenol) and Hydrocodone. So, for example if you have a Vicodin 5/500, it means that the pill contains 5 mg Hydrocodone + 500 mg Acetaminophen. What's the comparison between extra strength Tylenol at 500 mg and Tylenol 3 ## Hello, Cathy! How are you? Tylenol 3 actually contains 300mgs of Acetaminophen and 30mgs of Codeine. Recently he cut the tylenol portion so that it would be safer for my liver than the previous 10/660 and 10/500 tablets. I I have always used the white oblong 10 perc and now I'm taking the 10 but it's a round pill and it is not as strong, I feel as if I'm taking tylenol3. This is a narcotic pain reliever, very strong and addictive. ## I wouldn't say they are "very strong", they are strong if you're not used to narcotic pain relievers, much stronger than a darvocet, tylenol 3, or even a plain vicodin 5/500, but weak compared to pain relievers such as percocet, roxycodone, morphine, dilaudid, demerol, oxycontin, fentanyl, and the many other stronger painkillers on the market. Norco is the brand name by Watson for 10mg Hydrocodone and 325mg of acetaminophen, they also make the generic. Norco is yellow in color and caplet shaped.Originally it was only 10mg, now it's 7.5 and 5, hydrocodone and the same Tylenol in all. Has no codiene in it. I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Need help identifying a small round white pill. Front of pill is scored in the center with and imprint of an odd shaped E on top and 50 beneath, back of pill is blank. I have been taking pain medication for the last seven years due to a stroke in blood clotting issues. Im 36 and I've found that even though generics are chemical the same. But each manufacture uses different inactive fillers. Some are good but there are a few are outright bad. And tthe bad ones are cheaper to make. Thanx ## This is an OTC medication, Acetaminophen 500mgs, a generic or store brand for Extra Strength Tylenol. ## As to telling which, sometimes it is hard and you kind of have to look up the pills and compare the imprints. Other times, you will just find there isn't a pill under LO, so it has to be zero.
