What does 10-5 mean on Lortabs? My prescription doesn't seem to be working for my pain and I was wondering if it meant Lortab 10 mg or Lortab 5 mg. So if it is 5 I can get a stronger MG ## What it seems to be is that your doctor was prescribing the tablets with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. I could be wrong, since I am not a medical professional, but I have seen it abbreviated this way before, from other similar posts. And no, a doctor cannot write it as an either/or prescription and let you pick which one you want, even if they tried, no pharmacy would fill it that way. More than likely, they will call your doctor to double check the prescription, to be certain of what exactly they are supposed to dispense to you. If your current dosage is not working for your p...

I am taking setraline hydrochloride 25 mg per day and clonozepam mouth disolving tablets .5 at night. Now i want to know how to reduce this two medicine. Any one can help me. ## The withdrawal effects, if you have only been using them as prescribed, are not usually severe, they are mainly annoying. The problem with these types of medications, if you stop them cold turkey is the rebound effect, since your body has to adjust to no longer having them. This can result in worsened depression and anxiety. Have you talked to your doctor about reducing them, yet? In most cases, they should be tapered, slowly, to help avoid these symptoms. If neither are time released, then you can safely split the tablets and start taking less of them.

What does 8mg/2mg mean? Dont know what strength I'm taking? ## Hi Veronica - 8mg/2mg means that the drug has two main active ingredients. And they are 8mg and 2mg per dose respectively. May I ask what you were prescribed? It sounds like Suboxone if I had to guess. For example, a single dose of Suboxone commonly contains 8 mg of Buprenorphine with 2 mg of Naloxone. I hope that helps and best wishes! ## Please stop buying medication off the street. It ruins it for people who actually need these meds. If you got this from a doctor and pharmacy you would have known the answer to this question, or you could have called your doctor. This is illegal and morally wrong. ## No one knows for certain that this was a "street purchased" drug. Maybe this person got away from the pharmacy b...

Ihave a newscript for levothroxine 50 MCG - things usually say MG ## Hi Linn, I definitely hear you on this one. Prescription drugs can be more confusing than algebra at times. Lol The difference of mcg vs mg is the measurement of each. MCG is the abbreviation of micrograms. MG is the abbreviation of milligram. You would need 1000 micrograms to make up 1 milligram. For your own reference: 50 mcg = 0.050 mg Learn More: Levothyroxine Details I hope this helps! :) ## Thank you. That clears up a lot. You are right, it is as bad as algebra which I also did not excel in. ## What is the difference between b12 5000mcg and b12 1000 mcg. I have been taking b12 1000mcg. Thanks! ## The first initials stand for the manufacturer, for example Teva Pharmaceuticals in the original post, and the TAB specifies that it is a tablet, according to FDA prescribing instructions. I ran out of synthroid. It shows 0.1MG. I got a temporary bottle that shows 100MCG. Are they the same? ## Hi Lucille, Conversion tools verify that 100mcg (micrograms) is actually equal to 0.1mg (milligrams), so you should have nothing to worry about as far as taking the correct dosage is concerned. If you were given the temporary bottle by another pharmacy, that could explain why they used a different measurement than you were used to seeing. I hope this helps! ## Do you have to eat when taking leverothryroxin? 0.1 mg ## Hi. I am taking methylcobalamin 500 MG inj. every two weeks, but when you convert mg to mcg you get very high numbers. What does the "LEG" mean on the prescription bottle immediately following the dosage (20 MG TAB LEG)? This was for acid reflux medication, nothing to do with legs. ## I found the answer. LEG means Lower Esophageal-Gastrointestinal (symptoms, treatment). The medication was for severe heartburn and acid reflux. ## Thanks for the helpful feedback Bruce! Just out of curiosity, which medication are you taking exactly? At first glance I was under the unique impression that LEG might've been an abbreviation for the active ingredient (since I don't normally see the indications mentioned on a prescription bottle - typically just the drug name in my experience), but what you have found certainly makes sense - especially if the medication was prescribed for a related condition. someone one who takes ferrous sulfate 325 mg ta wants to know what the ta stands for ## Hello, George! How are you? That just stands for tablet. Doctor's sometimes designate such on a prescription, to make sure their patient receives one specific form. For instance, they may specify that they be given tablets only, if they want them to be able to divide the dosage, if necessary, since that cannot be done with capsules. The FDA classifies this as an iron supplement and lists its most common side effects as being dark stool and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
