ER meaning extended release--What is the ingredient used to make the medicine ER? ## There is really no specific ingredient that can be mentioned. When a medication is time released, it has to do with its formulation. For example, the FDA lists some of them as using a sponge like substance, once you swallow it, stomach acid, and other fluids you drink are slowly absorbed and this forces the medication to be slowly released. In some cases, if you look closely, you will see 2 little areas on the pill that are thinner than the rest of the pill to allow this to occur, and then the shell of the pill is expelled as body waste. This is just one method that is used to make a medication time released, there are several others. What specific medication were you asking about? If you can post back ...

Hi, I have had a bladder infection and taken only 4 amoxils cause i only had 4, it went away, but this morning it came back and with blood. I get the urge to pee, its very painful and my pee is blood red. Help? What does this mean? ## Hello, Nani! How are you? It sounds like you didn't have enough antibiotic to fully eradicate the infection. You need to see your doctor for a new prescription of antibiotics to try and clear this up. Blood in your urine can happen, with a severe infection. There's also a slight risk you may have something more serious going on, such as kidney stones, so you need to have this checked out. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything el...

Can the side effects include stiffness & cramps in both hands? ## Hello, Paul! How are you? That means that they contain 20 milliequivalents per tablet, that's the dosage and the ER denotes them as being time released. The main side effect of this supplement, as listed by the FDA, is stomach pain and nausea, so it's best to take it with food. As to the stiffness and cramping, that is most likely caused by your potassium being low, but you should have it checked out, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am taking lots chloride 10meg er cap for potassium but I still get leg and arm cramps. So I stopped taking them for a week no cramps. So what gives.

What does the sod stand for on phenytoin sod ext its a 100 mg purple and white capsule ## Why is it becoming more difficult to find xanax on The streets? ## What does SOD DR EC mean on the Diclofenac bottle? ## The SOD stands for Sodium, it designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from, that's why some list sodium, some list hydrochloride and etc. As to the DR on a prescription, just like XR, SR, ER and quite a few others, it designates that medication as being time released. As to the EC, from what I've found, it's used similar to ES, DS and etc. to designate that as being an extra strength dosage, rather than the standard prescribed amount. My esr is 94. Is that a high reading and what does it mean? ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate and it indirectly measures how much inflammation is present in your body, as explained by the NIH. And yes, the 94 is very high. Generally, in men, normal is 15mm/hr if they are under 50 and 20mm/hr if they are over 50. Abnormal results may signify several medical conditions, including cancer, anemia, kidney disease and thyroid diseases. Have you been experiencing odd symptoms recently?

on my emergency room report THIS IS THE NUMBER POSTED ## @eflint, I've scanned through several different types of toxicology reports online and have yet to find anything relating to or referencing "65 h". However, my theory is that some reference codes or abbreviations may be unique to certain labs based upon what measurements they use. So it sounds to me like your best bet would probably be to bring the report back to the ER for an overview of everything listed; that way you can know for sure. If anyone else has more specific details to share on this, please feel free to post back.

my hydrocodone has Watson 3202 on white oval pill but pharmacy label has a T following the 325. What does the T mean? ## I am not aware of any abbreviation that this would stand for and suspect it may be a typographical error, or something internal to your pharmacy. I'm 19. Experienced a strong burning sensation when urinating. Went to the clinic and they gave me ERYKO 250..with a dosage of 2tablets every 6hours. I've taken them for one day and they are making me eat so much more, throw up liquids, paining stomach. I don't know if I should still carry using them. Bc0z they are making me sick instead of healing. ## Hi, Minty! How are you feeling? That is a pretty standard dosage for a severe infection. This is an antibiotic, so the side effects that you've experienced can also be normal, but experiencing them doesn't mean that it isn't working and helping you to recover from the infection. These types of things can happen with any medication you take, it's just what happens when you add a new chemical to the body to solve a...

I've been taking percocet 7.5/350 mg. for 3 yrs. I was recently prescribed morphine 15mg-cr and I am not getting much pain relief from the morphine. I thought and was told morphine is stronger than percocet but I got more relief from the percocet than I do from the morphine. I of course plan on telling my dr. asap but was just woundering in the meantime. ## Actually, Oxycodone is one and half times stronger than Morphine, plus the Percocet also contained Acetaminophen, which helps the Oxycodone to work better. And not every medication works for everyone that tries it, so it could just be that the Morphine isn't effective for you and you may need to switch back to Oxycodone, or Percocet. Are there any other comments or questions? ## Morphine ER is a extended release where as Perc...

I take verapamil 120mg er and refilled the medication. The refill came through as verapamil 120mg her. Is this the same medication? ## Hi Michael, ER stands for extended release. Extended release basically means that the drug dissolves over time in order to be released into the bloodstream at a slower and steadier rate. This allows the medication to be taken less frequently than an immediate release medication (IR). I'm not sure about the abbreviation HER, maybe you can check with you pharmacy regarding that? You can learn more about this drug on the page for Verapamil Details I hope this helps!
