She doesn't think it's from the water pills or any of the other things she drinks everyday. Could someone Please help me, to Help Her. Thank you ## Hello, Christine! How is your friend doing? Oh yes, that is exactly what the water pill does, it forces fluid out of the body by increasing urinary output. Plus, the caffeine in the coffee does the same thing, so she's essentially taking in 2 diuretics. Is there anything else I can help with?

I finished taking Furosemide pill about 3 weeks ago, but I'm still losing weight. Is this normal or do I have another problem? I have losted 24 lbs in 3 weeks ## Hello, Walter! How are you? No, it isn't likely that the medication would still be causing it, if you've been off of it for 3 weeks, now. The FDA classifies it as a diuretic and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and dehydration. Have you experienced any other symptoms, such as ongoing dizziness, difficulty urinating and muscle pain or cramping? You might be dehydrated. Are you on a diet? ## My husband receive an bypass last year July for the past 2 months his ankles and his legs are swelling. Dr. subscribe water tablets for the 1 month but there where no c...

I was prescribed this under a weight loss program and was wondering the side effects and any info on this drug. ## I haven't come across any specific details what-so-ever on "Moxide" Water Pills. But if it came with a weight loss program, it is more than likely some sort of diuretic that removes "subcutaneous water" or excess water weight from beneath the skin. From personal experience, these types of diuretics can cause muscle cramping and dehydration if not taken properly. Unfortunately I'm not fully aware of what other side effects might be associated with that particular brand, but if you taking it, I'd recommend staying hydrated to avoid the cramping and other side effects relating to dehydration. I hope this helps!

What do it look like my doctor say i need to be taking 5mg ## You would need to take more than 1 pill if your Doctors want you to take 5 mg as a 5 mg pill isn't available. Is this per day. I would get a second opinion if someone wants you to take that much. ## Yep agreed with above there is only 2mg, they don't have anything above that ## Reluctantly I have to say you're right. I was prescribed 10 milligrams a day 3 years ago. I have since switched doctors who has me on 8mg/day, 4 2mg/daily. This isn't a med toy want to up in dosage unless absolutely need be. They are the devil, not to mention if you lose, wash, fall in the water and yes all 3 of those have happened in one month. Your screwed. I am taking my Oxycodone and find it makes me thirsty. I've also had recent swelling in my ankles and feet. I was thinking about taking water pills to help the swelling. Is this a bad idea? I also live in the Vegas heat. Thanks ## Hello, Romi! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. As to the water pill, it depends which one. There are several on the market. It would be best to consult your doctor, before taking one to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with?

does cheratussin look niqrathin, or like a syrup ## Cheratussin ac has a thick liquid viscosity. A possible comparison is that it's thinner and runs quicker than maple syrup but thicker than fruit juice. That's the best analogy I can put together for it. If you happen to stop by your local pharmacy, just pick up a bottle of Robitussin cough syrup and it's pretty much the same consistency. The inactive ingredients in Cheratussin AC contain: alcohol, caramel, citric acid, FD&C red #40, flavor, glycerin, menthol racemic, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium benzoate, sorbitol solution ....So it will likely be a light reddish pink color, judging from the Red dye they put in it. My Oxycodone 30 mg blue pills got wet, they dried out & now are twice the size they should be & no writing is on them. My question is of they are still as effective as before they got wet? ## as long as it was water, you are fine. There might be a shorter time release bc the membrane might be worn or more porous. ## They also may not be effective, if the water started causing some of the Oxycodone to be released. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. In the future, it is always best to store your pills away from liquid sources to prevent this from occurring. They should be stored in a cool, dark, dry location. Is there a...

Since we learned that "hydro" means water, what does "hydro" mean in the drug "hydrocodone?" All drugs are made with some water, aren't they? A student wanted to know why? Thank you. ## Hello, Fran! How are you? As explained by the FDA, a drug name is used to denote its chemical makeup and its drug category. The generic name, in this case Hydrocodone, which is an opiate, is chosen by the USAN (United States Adopted Names). There is also an agency to name them in Japan and other countries, though in many cases, they will keep a universal name, if possible. The actual chemical name of any given drug is far, far too long to use as it's actual name on the market, so what they name it results from a kind of shortening of that chemical name. As an example, here...

Levothyroxine With Plenty Water; how much is plenty? ## Yes, that is a pretty ambiguous statement, however, the reason they word it that way is because many people take medications with just a sip of water, not realizing that they work better and disperse more quickly in your body if they are taken with larger amounts of liquids. Thus, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise, you should take it with, at least, 8 ounces of water. Are there any other questions?
