I have an inflamed tooth that is killing me. I take a beta-blocker (Toprol XL) which keeps me from taking NSIADs such as Alleve. (The active ingredient interferes with the blood pressure lowering effects of Toprol.) I have a reoccurring knee injury and was prescribed Tramadol which gave me an allergic reaction, the hospital prescribed me steroids, Pepcid and Benadryl to counter act the rash. I am a Vietnam veteran with PTSD. I took this drug for several years and it was a big help. Now Doctors are saying that they will not prescribe this medication because it'a addictive. Hi everyone, I've been taking tramadol for a few years for a severe spinal stenosis, knee pain both knees (work related) upper arm pain, osteoporosis arthritis, etc. When I first started taking tramadol it was for a broken metatarsal in my right foot. I was originally given Vicodin, but I made me too loopy so took it to my doctor and asked for something else, he prescribed ultracet.
