Have you consulted your doctor about stopping it? ## Just increased iso mono dosage from 60 to 90 for 3 days -its working for my chest pain but it bothers my stomach big time all day and I'm up all night because I cant sleep and it's very disruptive all day. Isosorbide MN ER 30 MG - I took this drug - 1 each day - for 1 1/2 months to relieve the steady pain of Esophageal Spasms and developed severe headaches. Thought at first it was from arthritis in my back so went a chiropractor for 1 month - no help there. Stopped taking this drug for 4 nights and "WOW" No headaches. I will NOT take anymore of this medication. ## Who told you to take it to treat that? Isosorbide Mononitrate is usually used to treat angina pectoris, because it dilates the blood vessels and can reduce the pressure on them. Thus, it is not a pain reliever, nor a muscle relaxant. And headaches are a very common side effect of this medication, due to the very nature of how it works. ## Your headache indeed was because of the medication, had you needed it for a HEART c...

For lack of funds I was without my isosorb mono er 30mg tab WES for five days. I started taken it again and after two days of horrible headaches realized must be my meds. My question is can I cut them in half so my system can more slowly get used to the Isosorb again? ## Hello, Based on my research, Splitting tablets (if split unevenly) may effect the designed release profile significantly enough to where it may cause health problems. The way certain tablets (especially coated and controlled release tablets) are broken down and absorbed in the body can change when they are split. This can potentially decrease positive effects and increase negative effects associated with the medication. Tablets that are safe to split normally have a score line or breakage line. Are there any breakage li...

I drive a commercial vehicle and take isosorbide mononitrate. I've heard recently that I'm not supposed to take this medication and drive commercially. Does anyone know about this for sure? I've been taking this and driving for quite a while with no adverse effects, but just need to know for sure. Thanks.

My Dr. put me on 30mg of isosorbide mono er. Not for Angina but to improve my oxygen intake. My problem is that When I take a pill I cannot take another, the next morning, because my blood pressure is in the 20's. I am 88, had open heart triple bypass surgery 6 years ago. Plaque, that was my only problem. Drs. say that I have a strong heart. Question -- Can I split the pill and take only half a pill per morning. ## Wow! Your BP drops to the 20's? Is that systolic or diastolic? Strong heart, or not, the is a dangerously low number. My PCP and cardiologist worry if mine drops below 90/60. Have you been experiencing any symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache? Are you on any other medications?

I don't like the way I feel. Dizzy at times, stomach problems, constipated and dry mouth. ## How long have you been taking it and why was it prescribed? Those can be normal side effects, you may experience headache and diarrhea. However, since this is used to treat heart conditions, you shouldn't stop it, without your doctor's approval. Are you on any other medications?

I accidentally gave my father a isosorbide mononitrate ER before he went to bed tonight after he took one this morning. Should I call the doctor? ## While I doubt a double dose will do more than cause more side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache, it is always best to check with a doctor to be sure. How is your father doing? Did he experience any adverse effects?

I began taking Imdur 30mg on December 15, 2015 because I began to have attacks of angina. I did not realize that I was supposed to be taking Imdur all along following 3 Stent insertions in June. The severe headaches began immediately - they are so debilitating I can not function. These headaches, which I read are supposed to lessen after a few days, have not. The headaches today are just as severe as they were a month ago. I have an appt. next Wednesday with my Cardiologist - because my angina continues, and the Imdur does not appear to be working and I am still having severe headaches. ## Hello, Patrick! How are you feeling? What did your cardiologist say? Headaches are a very common side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness and f...

pill red color R30 ## Sorry, I cannot confirm that from your pill description, I cannot find a listing for anything with R 30 on it. However, if you are certain of what it is, here is the monograph listing for this medication: Isosorbide Mononitrate ## I have taken this medicine for almost 5 years, whenever I stopped taking it (couldnt afford it)and started taking it again, I would get the terrible headaches until my body got used to it once again. After not taking it for almost six months, I got it refilled once again. The headaches arent there, the pill is different and I am wondering if I actully got Isosorb Mono like the bottle says. It is now a white pill, they were always red and it says Ku128 on it. ## can I break iosorb 30 tablets in two and take 1/2 at a time to reduce the side...

In one day, I received a flu shot, started wearing progressive lenses in glasses for the first time, hit my head (minor), and started isosorbide. I spent most of the day vomiting with debilitating headaches. Some of the day was a return visit to the doctors office to vomit there as proof. At one point, I put a weightlifting plate wrapped in a towel on my head. The worthless pain medicine Tramadol did not help. Excedrin Migraine didn't help either. ## I am very sorry about what you experienced. Have the symptoms resolved? My best guess is that they were caused by the Isosorbide, it is well known to cause those types of side effects, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, flushing and frequent urination. ## I started taking isosorb 3 months ago my doctor had me stop ...

I was prescribed 60mg of imdul when i complained of recurring slight chest pain after a 2 minuets walk but pain disappears when i take a short rest and can then finish my walk with no pain. Few days before prescription arrived started not having the pain. Should i still take the medication when it arrived? Thanks. ## Hello, Ruben! How are you? Did they do any testing, such as as an EKG, or did they just prescribe the medication? It really depends on that. If they did testing and said that you need the medication, you should take it, but if not, you may want to get a second opinion from a cardiologist. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache.

A cardiologist started me on Isosorbide Mononitrate after I had a few small heart attacks, before starting me on this , I needed nitrostat and the nurse took 40 minutes to bring it, my troponin levels kept increasing, so I've been taking it for over 3 years now, when I started - it took about a month for the headaches to quit, and when sitting - get up slowly and try not to bend over, crouch down using your knees and hold on the the back of a sturdy chair, getting up fast or bending over as to pick something up off the floor, resulted in a headache or a fainting feeling even 3 years later, my cardiologist said it was a normal side effect, the card nurse had the cardiologist use nitro paste on my chest at first , that day shift nurse that made me wait for nitro was getting even for me t
