Hi i am 22 yrs old and I started having periods at the age of 12 yrs. Since menarche I am having these irregular periods with heavy flow.at first my periods are not there for 2 to 3 months and than when it comes it goes on for a month or even longer till I have taken some medicine for it to stop.i have used oral contraceptive pills in order to regulate my cycle but it didn't seem to be of much use.recently a gynaecologist said that maybe I am a milder case of pcos and she put me on diane 35 and metformin. I have a question regarding the "morning after" pill. I am a 50yr old female. I have no physical symptoms of menopause other than ten yrs of sweating. My periods are absolutely the same as they have been for 35yrs. My plight is that I am going on a cruise with my husband in 8days which puts me due to start menstruation when we leave for vacation. I am 36 yrs old . From the time I matured ( when i was 13 yrs old ) I have been having irregular periods and took various hormonal medication from my gynaec to regularise them. Till date after so many years I still have irregular periods. I am married for almost 10yrs and have not concieved. I get my periods once in 3 months and the flow is very heavy and lasts for more than a month . My gynaec has to prescribe hormones again for the flow to stop. Apart from physical exhaustion , I have to face lot of mental tension from my in-laws for my condition . I am a 59 caucasian male. Have had Hep C for 30 years. Type 1a and 5-million viral load. Will begin triple therapy in two weeks (Incivek/Peg and RIBA).
