I feel so sore and swollen in my joints / eyes / hands / etc. Can this come from the use of methamphetamines? ## Hello Ron! How are you? I'm very sorry about the way you're feeling. Yes, this has been reported in those taking it, as listed by the FDA and NIH. Though it is more common to occur with withdrawals. Other effects may include insomnia, weight loss, severe dental problems and mood disorders. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi all this is my first post, I am so glad I came upon this forum, I am 56 have been on levothyroxine for 3 years, I am taking 150micrograms a day. For the past 10 week I have had what I can only discribe as dry eyes (after doing hours of reserch on the net) the last month my eyes have got much worse, they water continusly they are very blood shot they are stuck together in the morning, swollen lids and under eye. I had a blood test last week and was told to reduce my levo by 25mg, but my eyes seemed to get worse. I have decided to come of my meds all together and see if that helps this will be my thrid day without the meds please keep fingers crossed that this will help my eyes as I am so depressed with them that I won't even go out. I do not recommend that anyone come of their med...

I stopped taking my Neurontin after having what I think is an allergic reaction to the med. I was started on 100mg once a day for a week, then went to 200mg once a day for 1 week. A few days after starting the 200mg my eyes started itching, I didn't really think too much about it. Then about 3 days after I was increased to 300mg my eyes started swelling with blurred vision and runny eyes. I also couldn't understand why my throat felt as though it was shutting off and I started getting flu like symptoms and my face was swollen as well. My dr started me on eye drops with antibiotics in them, but my stayed swollen. A day or 2 later I thought that the Neurontin was the only thing new for me so I stopped taking it and my symptoms are way better. My eyes are still watery, but a lot be...

About a month ago I woke up with swollen eyelids, red eyes, no itching and had watery liquid coming out. The Ophthalmologist could not find anything wrong with the eyes and made a channel on the side of the eyes for extra fluid to drain. I was OK for a few days then both the swelling and redness came back. Went to a GP and he diagnosed me with a bacterial infection and prescribed doxycycline 100 mg two times for 15 days. I finished my antibiotic course two days ago but every morning the swelling of the eyelids (both upper and bottom) is worse in the morning and is gone by the afternoon, but the redness and watery discharge remains throughout. Again, the next day same issue. FYI - I don't have more crust upon waking up than I used to have before this condition developed. Please tell ...

I went to the doctor after having a swollen eyelid cause by pollen when I went to cherryblossom. I have light inflamation aound my eyes and the doctor told me not to put make up around my eyes. I'm just wondering if I AM REALLY NOT allowed to put make up? the thing is I go to work and school and if I don't put atleast a bb cream around my eyes to cover up the light dark marks then people might keep asking me. It will bother me a lot if all day people would ask me about my eyes. ## Hello, Aleena! How are you? The doctor told you that to try to keep you from irritating them even more. They almost always will. Thus, while it would be best not to do so, it's really up to you, in the long run. For the best outcome, you should always follow your doctor's advice. To be honest, ...

swollen eyes with big red circles arounds eyes that swell, and skin rash type of symptom in that area -- very itchy, skim peels, eyes water, some face swelling as well. Like a hyper hystamine effect of some kind? Benadryl and others don't work. ## The symptoms definitely sound like allergic reactions, but you do have to be very careful, the peeling skin can be the sign of it causing a very serious medical issue that could be life threatening. Learn more Opioid details here. Have you consulted your doctor? Is this a new medication that you're taking? Or has the pharmacy given you pills from a new manufacturer? side effects of betamox 500 mg , swollen eyes -redness skin reaction, fatique , itching, restless dreaming - never experienced any allergy for medication ## Just because you've never had an allergic reaction to a medication before, doesn't mean that isn't what you are experiencing now, it is always possible, with any medication. Even if you have taken it before, you could suddenly experience an allergic reaction, because our bodies change over time, as part of the normal aging process. Betamox contains the active ingredient Amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic used to treat many types of infections and this dug class is very well known to cause allergic reactions, even in people that have already used them, before. The odd dreaming and fatigue are normal side effects, but the...

can i take more than 180 mg of fexofenadine my eyes are swollen and my throat is drying up i have an epi pen but am not sure when to use it ## Hello, Betty! How are you? The epi pen should be used when you have trouble breathing and you may feel like you are going to lose consciousness, or your family should know to use it, if you lose consciousness and can't communicate with them. There are training videos you can watch for them and it should be shot into the thigh. As to the Fexofenadine, while it can be taken in higher doses, it will not usually help fast enough, if you are having a severe anaphylactic reaction. In such cases, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or your epi pen are the best choices, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, because they work much faster and could save your ...

I was given it for swelling of the face and eyes. My two cheeks are very swollen and very red. ## This is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The only way to see if it will work for you is to take, following your doctor's prescribing instructions. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. You can read more on it here: It will, still, take several days to start working, even if it is going to clear this up for you. After many years of opiode use, encountering unusual side effect. Eyes swell, big red swollen circles ring eyes -- very ugly -- that skin becomes wrinkly, dry, rashy, itchy, eyes water. Feels like some type of hyper histamine attach, but no antihistimine prevents or eases consdition. Face also swells to some degree. Any thoughts? ## Hi bridget, When push comes to shove, I would definitely consider stopping those medications. Perhaps your body may just be trying to tell you that it doesn't want opioids anymore? However, the symptoms you mentioned are commonly regarded as allergic reactions to opioid medication in and of itself; whereas taking an allergy pill wouldn't do anything because you're still taking what's causing the reactions to begin with. Additionally, some med...

for chest congestion flu sumptoms, possible asthma. ## In the pollen season I have very bad eczema in my face, swollen eyes, elephant man skin etc. When it is so bad that I cant handle the itching anymore I get a diprospan shot. In stand relieve. After two days the skin of my face is smooth and soft, no redness, swelling etc. The diprospan normally helps for 4 weeks (that’s the first shot in the season) but I noticed that I get used to it because now the itching starts already after 2 weeks. Its written that you can have a shot every week if necessary but I am a bit scared to do that, after all its cortisone. ## I understand your concerns, but unfortunately, with severe allergic reactions, steroids are quite often the only solution. Have you seen a doctor and told them that you've these symptoms for the past 6 months? Oxybutinin is for an over-active bladder. It may cause the dry mouth when you are taking it, but should go away when you stop taking it. There is a disease called "Sjogren's Syndrome" that causes a dry mouth, dry eyes, cracked lips. It is an auto-immune disease--a type of arthritis. There may be something else going on--6 months is a long time to continue having side effects. Something else m...

Has Atelvia caused a rash around the eyes or swelling of the eyes on anyone? My mother has been taking it for six weeks and woke up one morning this week with a rash and with her eyes red and swollen. I took her to her internist (who was not the prescriber of the medicine) twice this week, and she thinks that it is a build up of Atelvia. I am to take her to the arthritis doctor next week. The problem is that I had given her the weekly pill again before I saw the internist so I could not take her off for another week. ## Actually, those are symptoms of a severe allergic reaction and she needs to see someone right away for it and stop using the medication. It is warned about in the allergic reactions section of the patient advisory monograph. Has she improved any? You should also make sur...

I have been taking lercanidipine for 1 week and my bp has gone up to 212/101 from 136/85. I have leg pain, dry mouth, sore tongue, puffy eyes, swollen ankles, lower backaches and very tired. Was advised to change from previous medication as potassium was low, although blood pressure was stable. I had no side effects with that medication. What should I do? ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication, as detailed by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. They are usually transient and should go away, after about 4 to 5 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. If they do not go away, or if they worsen, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking testa for one month now and have developed a very sore and swollen for no reason. Could this be from the tecta. ## Hi Rudder, You could possibly be having an allergic reaction to this medication. Swelling of the eyes, face, lips, mouth, throat, or tongue are actually serious side effects of Pantoprazole, the active ingredient in Tecta. Other side effects include: headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, itching, and more... I would speak with your doctor as soon as possible. If the symptoms worsen, please seek emergency medical attention! You can learn more about this drug on the page for Pantoprazole Details

I went to the ER a little over a week ago for a severe allergic reaction. I'm not sure what caused the reaction but I had woken up with a swollen face and swollen itchy eyes. My left eye was so swollen it was almost completely closed. I had no problems with my breathing. When I arrived at the ER, they put me on on IV with prednisone and some allergy medicine. I went home about an hour later but he prescribed me prednisone pills to start the next day. The first day I was to take 6, then 5, then 4....until the end of day 6.
