I used to take high doses of narcotics for severe neuropathy pain. That crap almost killed me and destroyed my life, leaving me destitute and homeless. I had to move in with my sister, and then some friends to stay off the street. I have been taking lyrica for several years and it helped, even while on the narcotics. Since going off the narcotics, I have relied entirely on Lyrica to deal with the pain. My doctor changed my dosage about a month or so ago to 300mg twice a day and soon to 300mg three times a day. The difference has been amazing and the neuropathy pain is almost completely gone while the Lyrica is in effect. I was in a auto 04/2010. My back is broke in several places and my L shoulder. My family an I were told I need a 24 hr operation on my back and a 12 hr operation to replace my shoulder. I got Cancer of the EPIGLOTTIS, getting treatment with Radiation. New Oxy 30 MG swells up like a sponge making it harder to swallow which make it hang up in the tumor just in front of the voice box, base of tongue. Our son is heavily addicted to suboxone. It started when he tried to function properly after he quit taking opiates. It is been going on for a long time. He buys pills illegally and lies to us where his money go. He ruined all relationship with his employers. When I went to the Dr's today, I was told by the receptionist that the 30 mg Roxicodone that I have been prescribed (for a couple of years) has become very popular on the streets, and known by it's blue color so well that the pill is going to be reformulated and changed in color to white in the hope that it will not be as attractive to addicts. I have read articles on Methadone. I started in 1970 and came off a few times and went back. I was 90 lbs and went to 300 lbs, now I can not walk because my knees have been eaten away by my drug use. I threw away my Methadone, but my doctor says big yes and writes me a prescription for non-generic. She says it is not as strong as the generic version. I now have a problem with this medication. Has anyone else noticed that OxyContin 20mg wears off before 12 hours? I'm waiting for the extended relief pain meds to take effect and it doesn’t last for 12 hours. ## They’ve never lasted 12 hours since they were brought to market. That was how they flooded the streets. Doctors knew they didn’t last 12 hours so they would prescribe an extra here and there. I live in Susanville ca. Was going to my Dr. For 20 years and was on Methodone which gave me my life back after 2 back surgurys, 22 knee surgurys then finally a knee replacement, now I have to have my other knee replaced. The DEA came into my Dr. Office and took his licence to give any narcotics away. I was forced to go cold turkey cause no other dr. In town would take any of my Dr. Patience out of fear.
