I have been diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and I have a knot on my upper back and neck. I was wondering if this could cause painful tension headaches, neck pain, as well as facial flushing, it looks like I have been in a tanning bed. ## The other symptoms you've listed can be symptoms of it, but they should kind of come and go, especially when at rest, as reported by the NIH. However, the flushing is not a normal symptom. Are you on any medications?

You can learn more about anal stenosis here. The FDA warns that Humira may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, back pain, and administration site reactions. I have been plagued with a back pain equal to a 7/8. I get epidurals once or twice mostly in the facet. Recently the pain has been a 10. Should I receive an epidural elsewhere than the facet? ## Facet blocks never helped me, and I have Facet disease. Try a Steroid Epidural, they have worked wonders for me, and have actually delayed back surgeries. Some epidurals have lasted me 8 months.

Hello, I have stenosis of the left and right ICA. The left is 75% blocked and right 50% blocked. I possibly have Moyamoya, as well.(Hence the stenosis) My family doctor just switched me to this combo because after being on 50MEQ of potassium, I finally reached a normal level range of potassium. Is this something I should revisit with my doctor? I can't afford anymore narrowing! They are still trying to figure me out. ## Hello, Sheryl! How are you? I've not found anything listed in the side effects provided by the FDA that says this medication may cause more narrowing. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dehydration and increased urination. Have you consulted a cardiologist?

Prior surgery in 2002 for spinal stenosis...bars and screws - sever stenosis above previous surgery ...Neurosurgeon prescribed Gabapentin 3 times a day for nerve block. ## Hello, Shirle! How are you? Gabapentin isn't actually a nerve block. The FDA actually classifies it as an anticonvulsant that can also help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. It can alleviate nerve pain, due to the way it works on the receptors in your brain. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. It works well for some people, but not all, which is normal for all medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

If you are taking a fentanyl patch of 100 every 48 hours what is the next step that is necessary to help control the pain.b ## Hi, Bernie! How are you? On this, I really have to admit that I'm not sure. Fentanyl is the strongest opiate narcotic available to treat pain, so I'm not sure where else you could go. In some extreme cases, I do know that doctors have resorted to combining patches for someone that's grown tolerant to the highest dosage and is very tolerant to opiates in general, so that's possibly an option. Though this is usually reserved for those with intractable pain due to cancer or other severe, life threatening illnesses. In some cases, they can hit a point where comfort and quality of life outweigh the fear of prescribing too high of a dosage. Learn more ...

I have been reading some of the discussion threads and really would love your advice. So back in 2012 I slipped two discs with one that had a tear and I have spinal stenosis. Had wonderful docs that helped me get back to some since of normalcy. I had used Gabapentin for a period of time, then came off of it once I had an injection for my right leg nerve pain and numbness. Just a note, I have never been 100 percent probably not even 75 percent. There were times when the pain in my back was so bad, I would would just be angry. A second MRI was done last year and they told me I was not a candidate for surgery and gave me other suggestions like yoga, etc. That proved to be more harmful then good. Through it all I have tried to maintain some sort of life style and dealt with the pain with Ic...

I've been suffering with spinal stenosis for many years. Some mornings I can't even get out of bed. I live in Gorman Tx. Please if anyone knows of a doctor who would prescribe pain meds please let me know. Thank you so much. I'm so tired of hurting so bad all I do is sit and cry or stay in bed because its too difficult to get around. ## I suffer from spinal stenosis. I've dealt with this for many years, with no relief. I'm hoping one day to find a doctor who will help with pain meds. ## Hello, Blanche! How are you? If you require medications on a long-term ongoing basis to control chronic pain, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, ha...

My mother has spinal stenosis which cases her great pain. She uses B transpatches 50. which provides no relief. What could be used as an alternative? She is 84. ## I have cervical spinal stenosis. I have used fentanyl patches and lollipops in the past to control my pain. It is very strong but can be given in very small doses and due to her age I doubt a pain specialist would give her any grief over it. Dilaudid also works well for me but I am a poor metaboliser so not many opiatess work for me. You might want to ask about either one of these pain meds. ## Yes, the Fentanyl patches are also what I would suggest asking her doctor about, it is a very strong narcotic, over 80 times stronger than the Morphine, so the patches come in either 0.25mcgs or 0.50mcgs. They are time released and eac...

spinal stenosis and pyriformus syndrome ## Lortab contains Acetaminophen and the narcotic Hydrocodone. However, there are no manufactured tablets on the market that have more than 10mgs of the Hydrocodone in them. I just need something to help when the pain gets too bad several times a week. The tramadol does not work anymore. Does anyone know of a place in Hampton Roads VA that will help? ## I do not know of a place there. However, if you are willing to drive to Richmond which is seventy miles away, I know a doctor who will treat you with proper medication (better than tramadol and less than MS). ## @Bamagirl -- I have your health ailments and A LOT more. I have spinal stenosis, degenerating and bulging discs, I have been taking 2-5/325 percocets, 1- 500 naproxen and 1- 10 flexerel every 6 hrs for 3 months now, I know I'm addicted to them but this is the only thing that alleviates my pain, what are the other long term affects of this regiment ## Are you addicted too them, or dependent on them? There is a difference. Dependence is when you have to have them to function, due to a medical condition and your body has become used to having them. Addiction occurs when you abuse drugs, because you like the way they make you feel, so you keep taking more and more of them. And as to the possible long-term effects, most medications are processed through the liver, so there is some risk of developing liver damage. The Naproxen may also caused f...
