I found a bright pink oblong pill with #324 on one side. ANY IDEAS? ## This tablet is manufactured by Chain Drug Marketing Associates and they list it as containing 25mgs of Diphenhydramine; it is sold under the name Qc Complete Allergy Medication, a generic, or store brand of Benadryl. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation. ## sounds similiar to darvocet n-100with is like a glorified tylenol. it is considered a low dose narc. ## A darker pink oblong pill with 324 on it is QC Complete Allergy Medicine 25 mg. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine and antiemetic drug.

Omg...I had no clue darvocet was removed off the market....I had an old script from 4 yrs ago....I had teeth extracted 3 days ago and I am in extreme pain...I took one of the darvocet.... Now im terrified it's going to kill me. ## no u won't die...the fda removed the drug due to higher rates of heart problems...it is as safe now as it was 4 yrs ago. ## Mickey is correct, it wasn't killing people when they took one pill. What it was doing was causing cardiac damage and issues, however, they were also reversible in most cases, once the drug was discontinued. You should dispose of them though, to make sure you don't take any in the future. And for most dental extractions, a simple NSAID, such as Ibuprofen is enough to relieve the pain and swelling, unless your doctor or den...

My grandfather has a Darvocet prescription from 1997- 16 years old. He's convinced that he can still take it even though it is so old. I think they need to be thrown them away .... Are they safe even though they are 16 years old?? ## Hello, Worried! How are you? Yes, the Darvocet should be disposed of, not just because it's old, but because it was also found to be dangerous and has been pulled from the U.S. prescription drug market. It was found to be caridotoxic and there were some fatalities. ## Thank you so much! ## I had some from 2008 and it was fine.

I have given Darvocet to patients for over 50 years. It is much superior to the codeine addicting medications. I have been unable to find any pain medication as effective as darvocet on medium acute or chronic pain. How can we get this medication back on the market? ## Darvocet and it's related medications will not be returning to market in the U.S. or Canada. On top of the severe issues that caused it to be pulled from the market, it has been replaced with safer and more effective medications. First, it was just as addictive as other narcotic opiates, including codeine and yet was found to be nowhere near as effective as the others that are available. Second, it was found to be cardiotoxic, thankfully, most issues it caused were reversible, when the medication was discontinued, but...

I have been taking darvocet for 10 yrs and have never had a side effect. This is the only pain reliever that I can take because of my ulcers and diverticulitis. I also take this for my arthritis. What am I suppose to take now? ## I am in the same boat. I cannot find a substitute for Darvocet n/100. I have tried Tramadol and Oxycodone. I get Restless legs Syndrome from other meds. ## Sorry, but it's unfortunate that no one cares. Millions of people have taken this med for pain and because they cannot take other meds. One solution is to find a global source; there is always an answer. ## Find a pharmacy who sells the drug globally. ## There were two primary reasons why all medications containing Propoxyphene, and its relatives, were removed from the market. The first being that it was...

Migraine headaches seem to be a trait in my family. My grandmother, mother, myself, and even my daughter...have all suffered from them, starting in early teen years. We have tried other meds but none completely stops the debilitating pain as Darvocet did. No, it did not stop or prevent the migraines but the pains were completely gone until the next dose was due...which allowed us to continue with life and work. With so many people the drug helped through the 50+ years on the market, why not bring it back with a heavy black box warnings? I feel bad for the handful of patients who died on it (though the Tylenol in it kills more a year) but for the many other people who used it without problems...why not bring it back? ## Unfortunately, the FDA deemed the Propoxyphene in Darvocet, and its ...

It has since been pulled from the market in the U.S., under direction of the FDA, due to the increasing number of overdoses and cardiac events that it was causing. It was also known to carry the risk of being habit forming, and to cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, headache, and dry mouth. My Dad is taking Tramadol in place of Darvocet. He took Darvocet for 20 years no side effects, now he is taking Tramadol and is good for pain but his blood pressure is going high and he has arrythmia and terrible depression. I think this pill has problem working with Paxil, Atenolol, Norvasc and Digoxin and should not be given together or adjusted. Why are doctors not aware of this and what else could he or should he be taking? Confused and upset! I f Darvocet cause heart attacks then why could he take it for 20 years without problems and now with Tramadol the safe one he's having all these troubles. ## Well, first of all, no medication is absolutely safe, they all carry risks. Now, the next question is, how long has he been off the Darvocet and did he stop taking it abruptly? Darvo...

Round rectangle pink pill with 93 on one side 068 on the other. Please ID ## I found two pills in my hotel room that are oblong shaped and salmon pink. The only markings on each are a big P underlined. Just curious what it is? ## I think the marking was possibly 93 890 and it was a generic for Darvocet, which was manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals, and contained 100mgs of Propoxyphene and 650mgs of Acetaminophen. It was a very mild opiate narcotic used to treat pain. The FDA had it removed from the market due to the high risk of overdose, and the risk of cardiac dangers that it caused. It also carried the risk of being habit forming, and could have cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. big pink pill with the letter M on one side and the numbers 1772 on the other. What is it? ## It is Darvacet N 100/650 used for pain ## Darvocet ## Right, Generic Darvocet Acetaminophen 650mg & Propoxyphene 100mg ## The prior posters are correct, although I do want to add that this medication is no longer available in the U.S. The FDA had it removed from the market, several years ago, due to the risk of overdose, and cardiac complications it caused. They also warned that it carried the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It was manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Is there anything else I can help with?

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will they be removing Darvocet off the market? I think it is stupid to do so. If it is taken off, then another will become the drug of choice for overdosing, so on and so on. It is the acetaminophen that kills, a toxic dose is around 4 grams. It would take around 8 tablets of Darvocet with 650 mg of acetaminophen to reach this level. ## Actually because your metabolism cannot digest darvocet as fast as other pain reliever just 6 pill can kill you and it is because of propoxypene that this happens it is a very dangerous drug that only help very few people. Most people who OD on this drug are not doing on purpose. Taking just 2 pill at 100-650mg in a short amount of time slows the heart rate and makes it harder to breath falling asleep after doing so can be fatal. ## There is a bill in pl...

I have been having severe migraines for decades. My family doctor, neurologist or any other specialist has not been successful to take care of my migraines. Darvocet used to be the only thing that would ward off a migraine. I have an appointment with a pain/rehabilitation Dr in 9 days. Out of desperation I had some Darvocet left and over a three-day period I took the last 10 of them as they had been prescribed for me years ago. I need to know if there could possibly be a trace of Darvocet in my urine drug test 9 days after I took my last Darvocet? ## I've had migraines for years and we have finally found the right drug. Everybody's different and what works for one person doesn't necessarily mean it will work for another. The name of the med. is Naratriptan, brand name Amerge...

I lost my health insurance and have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, my rheumatologist will not see me unless I can pay the $75.00 fee, which i cannot. I had to stop Darvocet when i ran out and now am noticing insomina, night sweats, etc. How long do you think this will last? ## It really depends on how long you have been on it, if you have been taking it for a long time, then it could take as long as two to three weeks. The effects will be mostly mild as long as you weren't using it more than prescribed and they will gradually taper off. Many people have found some over the counter items such as Imodium and Benadryl can help relive the withdrawal symptoms and make them more bearable. ## Your withdrawal could last up to 4 weeks. I have spinal STENOSIS and need Darvocet. I cannot take aspirin or Non Inflammatories. I have a script from my doctor. ## I'm sorry, but Darvocet has been removed from the market in the U.S., Canada and most other countries. It contained the active ingredients Propoxyphene and Acetaminophen and the Propoxyphene was found to be cardiotoxic. Learn more: I'm very surprised that your doctor wasn't aware of this information. There are, however, other narcotic analgesics on the market that contain Acetaminophen, rather than NSAIDs, so you may want to discuss using on of them with your doctor. Percocet, which contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen is the most commonly used. Are there any other questions or comments? ## There is nothing wrong with Darvocet. Just some people who overdo...

I found a white pill that has P500 on one side and the other side is smooth. I can only find a pink pill like this white one. So what is this pill? ## Hi Tiffany, Ciprofloxacin is the only remote match I've seen to this description; it's white and oblong, but has P on one side and 500 on the other. I think your best bet may be to contact the manufacturer of the pink version of P500 (Pliva Inc.) to find out if they changed their formula... Reason being is that I've also seen the same situation happen with pain medication tablet colors being changed from yellow to white over recent years, but still bearing the same exact imprint. So it's probably worth a shot. Just for the record, the pink version is identified as generic Acetaminophen (500mg) + propoxyphene napsylate (100...
