Looking for some real life experiences to hear about. I'm new to nuvigil as of today, and like to have the occasional cocktail. I've read warnings saying not to combine, so am I going to have to quit drinking? Anyone with experience I'd love to hear from you. ## Hi James, I'm not one to speak from personal experience, but according to umm.edu, there are no drug interactions listed between Nuvigil (armodafinil) and Alcohol. Based on these findings alone, I have no reason to believe that you'd experience complications upon using the two together in a responsible manner. Other drug interaction checkers I've come across do not list anything discrepancies either, so depending on where you read those warnings suggesting otherwise, it seems to me like the best thing to ...

can alcoholics be given restyl during sober periods and what could be the effects if such a person is having a higher BP reading? ## Restyl contains the active ingredient Alprazolam and most doctors will not give it to someone with an alcohol problem, due to the risks to the liver. It is a Benzodiazepine and as to the blood pressure, it can actually help lower that slightly, since it causes depression of the central nervous system. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i am drinking 4 pegs of 60 ml. indian made rum [alcohol, made from sugarcane molasis] from last 25 years, and now i seriously want to quit my daily drinking habit, i am trying not to drink alcohol for 4-5 days, but without drinking of my daily stuff i cannot take sound sleep, for that one of my friend suggest me to st...

I have been taking naltrexone for a month now to help me quit getting drunk on white wine. My pharmacist said I shouldn't drink any alcohol while taking this drug but would like to know if I went out on a weekend, could I drink a glass of wine or two while taking naltrexone? Would there be any severe side effects? ## Wouldn't that be defeating the purpose of why you wanted to start taking it? Not only is it risky to consume alcohol with any medication, but if you wanted to stop drinking, it really makes little sense to go right back to it. Have you consulted your doctor? Have you undergone any counseling for this issue? ## Co: Your pharmacist does not understand the way naltrexone works or what its purpose is. Naltrexone works by the principal of "pharmacological extinction...

My husband has been taking Gabapentin 900 for quite some time now but he won't stop drinking (he has cirrhosis).. He will even take the medicine with beer. He has experienced a lot of symptoms but he blames the pill and not the beer, but i know an alcoholic is like that ... He won't admit it. How bad is it taking Gabapentin 900 with alcohol? ## What symptoms is he experiencing? Typically, taking a prescription medication with alcohol could result in liver damage, and a worsening of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness, according to the FDA.

How long does Oxycodone take to get out of the system before I can safely drink (quite a bit of) alcohol? I'm an 84 year old white woman. Weigh 130lbs, am 5'2" tall and very ill. Haven't had a real drink in about 25 years. Used to drink a lot and miss it.

I'm seeing "none" and "never". But tell me the truth. With 2.5 mg Percocet every eight hours, is a glass of wine dangerous? Is it dangerous to drive? What about if I was taking it every 12 hours? I am almost ten weeks post op on a pretty major back surgery (fused two discs, I've got quite an apparatus back there). ## Yes, it is always risky, and they should not be combined. Alcohol and opiates both depress the central nervous system, that's why they can cause a high/buzzed feeling, as well as drowsiness, dizziness, and sedation, as side effects, and when you combine more than one of these substances, this can potentiate these side effects, making them much more severe than usual. Thus, you could end up dozing off inappropriately, blacking out, experience seve...

one tabled twice a day for tension without alcohol ## Can i drink pur bloka together with alzam? ## It is never a good idea to drink alcohol with prescription medications, some don't react well with it and with most it enhances the side effects. ## Can Alzam affect an alcohol reading if quite a few are taken before an alcohol test?

I'm getting concerned about my husband. He has been put on Effexor XR 75 mg, together with Prazosin, and Clonazepam 1 mg, for depression and anxiet and PTSD. When he feels more anxious he will take another Clonazepam, or a half mg of it. I realize his dosages aren't high on these medications but he is also extremely sensitive to meds, so for him this may well be a lot. Lately he has been drinking, after being completely off the alcohol for quite a few years. He will start drinking wine after work, and will drink 3 or more 16 oz glasses. Then he will take another 1.5 of clonazepam some nights, or else 2 Tylenol PM's and go to sleep. I know the drill about drinking and I try not to nag him but I did tell him this pattern is dangerous, against his doctor's instructions and ...

I've recently started bupropion, it's been a few weeks. I think I experienced every single side effect the drug had over the first few days but all is good now. I'm not depressed, nor do I have anxiety. I was actually hoping that maybe it'd make me happier but it hasn't done a single thing to my mood or drive; positive or by negative. I started taking it to quit smoking and I really enjoy it more than chantex as the drug makes me make the decision to stop smoking. It's decreased my cravings and side effects of quitting. I've noticed also that I have a dramatically reduced urge to drink. Even if I begin drinking I don't over do it, but typically I just have no interest in drinking. I find this amazing because, not that I'd admit it publicly, but I thin...

Doxycycl Hyc 100mg Cap, do you know if you are allowed to drink alcohol while taking this medication. ## Alcohol should generally be avoided while you are taking any prescription medication. The reason is because alcohol can cause aggravation of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and drowsiness, which can result in one drink being equivalent to 2 or 3 and so on. Learn more Doxycyline details here. So, if you do decide to drink anyway, don't expect to be able to indulge quite as much as you usually do and make sure that you won't be driving. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Can u drink alcohol if you took 1 room quin several hours ago

I've been on 10mg of Brintellix for 3 weeks now after a week of taking 5mgs. Initially the nausea was bad in the morning, but that has recently improved a lot. My experience so far is that it has drastically reduced my anxiety spikes and it's incredible to no longer be at the mercy of those horrible gripping pangs in my solar plexus. I used to drink quite a lot of wine over weekends because I found it helped with my social anxiety (despite facing the consequences of malaise the following day!) But did not feel the urge to have any wine this weekend and was not as much in need of something to relax and enjoy myself. My boyfriend complained that I was a bit of a zombie the first week or so, but I feel increasingly sharper and more able to think on my feet and remember stuff. So far I

My spouse recently began taking this when she finally decided to quit drinking alcohol (after many years). She is now quite surly, depressed and tired all the time. Almost unapproachable. Does anyone know if this is a short-term effect of the drug and the withdrawal of alcohol? ## Yes, such issues are actually listed as very common side effects of Campral, she may also experience diarrhea, abdominal pain, increased urination and muscle weakness. However, things should improve after a month, or so, as her body gets used to the medication. If not, then she should consult her doctor, you should also contact them if things get worse. Is there anything else I can help with?

Health is my goal and I need a kick start since I am 5'3 and weigh 275. I quit drinking soda, alcohol and binge eating. Still not 1 pound. I'm drinking a lot of water. Not excercizing so much yet. I was just diagnosed with Lupus. I want to shed about 20 pounds before I start excercizing. I haven't had many side effects. Quite honestly I feel like I am taking a sugar pill. I’ve been on 8mg candersartan for a month , at lowered my blood pressure quite quickly , but now it’s been a month I just checked it on someone’s machine and it was too low ,116/59, I have not had any alcohol for a month also so that was causing my high blood pressure and I’ve lost half a stone as was 3 stone too heavy , so maybe the life style change would of lowered it anyway and the pills maybe have made it too low which I’ve heard is dangerous, I’m getting a new machine tonight so if it’s very low on that , can I stop the pills , obviously see a doctor but that can be hard to get an appointment ## It would be best not to stop the medication without your doctor's approval. I have been a regular taker of Percocet for recreation. I know, not a great idea, but I have a question. Apparently, I took much more than normal, with quite a bit of alcohol a couple of nights ago. I woke up the next morning with recurrent panic attacks. I had noticed that I had attacks on occassion if I was not careful about how much I took, but they lasted a minute or two and then left. Since my last dose (about 48 hours), I have been experiencing attack after attack ... I am assuming that I may be in withdraw or experiencing a side effect, but as the hours go by, I am not so sure. I see that it takes up to three days to get it out of my system (previous post). I have been a regular user, but not all of the time. If I have them, I take them, otherwise, I have always been fine.
