I have had limes disease for three and a half years. I have developed lots of co infections from this disease. I am on pain killers for fibromyalgia and arthritis and other debilitating problems. I need to go to Germany but at the moment do not have enough money. The medication I am taking is now having hardly any effect. I have had IV petidine before and it helped a lot. I'm on Norspan 20mg patches (7 day release). I am scheduled to go for bariatric (gastric sleeve) surgery and was wondering what pain relief I can be given/ask for (Pethidine is obviously out as Norspan is an opiate antagonist, but tramadol may work, but is not as strong as pethidine) ## I'm really not sure what all is available for you to use. Have you discussed it with your doctor? It might be necessary for you to stop the Norspan for awhile, before surgery, so other pain medications can be used. Hi, I have Gr 5 scoliosis in my back, I was born without arms and my left leg is shorter than the left. After many years of the use of medication due to 17 operations om my leg, to lenghten it and my back, no painkiller worked I used morphine,pethidine and Valeron, all very highly addictive. We had to find an alternative. They gave me lentogesic and I never looked back.I have been using it for 10 years, with no side effect. I use a maximum of four a day and on a bad day 6. This is the only painkiller that works. I dont know how they can take it off the market, do they not think that taking away a persons only hope when you are in so much pain that death would be better.
