How long does it take when taking medication for the pain to subside when taking this medication? ## Hello, Jane! How are you? Sorry about the UTI. However, I can't really answer you questions, since you didn't mention any specific medication. What are you taking for it? Can you please post back and clarify? Thanks!

I took my last dose this afternoon. I was given this for a uti. About 3 days in i stareted feeling awful....nausea, sweats, body aches. However i really just wanted my uti gone, and it was to late to call dr. Now my eyes really hurt, I have a small spot on both my eyes....I am wondering if this will go away now that i have finished meds or do i need to follow up with dr? ## It never hurts to have such issues checked out by your doctor, there is a chance these symptoms may go away, according to NIH reports, but there is a chance they might be unrelated. Has there been any change, so far? Are you on any other medications? Has your UTI cleared up? What do you mean by a spot, is it a floater, or a spot that is always present?

Can anyone advise me on a pain management physician somewhere in or around Virginia that is willing to treat with Fentanyl Patch for pain control? I have severe lordosis, pinched nerve (inoperable) and have received multiple steroid injections at both L5 and L2. The Lumbar pain has only worsened with severe Sciatica down my left leg to my left foot. I was actually discharged from the Marine Corps at age 19 for severe back pain, which over the years has responded to oral steroids, but no longer. I am being prescribed Vicodin for pain 2 tabs every 4 hours. However, the pain control is not consistent due to sleep, and I also fear taking 5 Grams/Tylenol every day. I just feel that being placed on a fentanyl patch makes more sense than constant refills of Vicodin and having to stop to take t...

I started taking Macrobid for a UTI, I only took one pill yesterday and one today. This afternoon my right eye hurts and waters some. I have had dry eye issues in the eye previously. I am also female and 62 years old. Will this go away when I quit the Macrobid? ## It might not, actually, according to the FDA, this medication has been known to cause optic neuritis, which can sometimes result in permanent damage to the optic nerve. It would be best to have this checked, because you may need to switch to a different medication. Have you experienced any other side effects?

I am on 58 mg of Methadone and I have been on it for a year. It does not help with pain for me, and I did this on my own to see if it would help me. I was taking 4 mg of Hydromorphone for pain before. Now I want off the Methadone but my doctor is telling me I have to go to a non opioid pain clinic for pain. What is that??? I need opioids to help with pain. What do I do?? ## Steve, Sorry to hear about the difficulties your experiencing. It's tragic when doctors prescribe potent pharmaceutical's such as hydromorphone and methadone then cut you loose. It sounds as if He wants you to see what's known as an interventional pain clinic where they utilize treatments to relief the pain rather then traditional opioids and opiates.Sadly it appears he no longer in comfortable prescribin...

I am having a terrible time dealing with the pain. I had a uti and was prescribed ciprofloxacin, have been on it twice a day for 5 days. The 5th day i had an appointment to have a tooth pulled. Had to cancel as anxiety had taken over and could not go. The pain has increased from 50 to 100%. I am a diabetic and already have nerop. In my feet and legs. I have alot of problems with my health and this has really put a damper on my life. I am a 72 year old young at heart, but feeling like 90 in my body. This is bad because my 50 year old husband is missing out on life so he can take care of me. Life was so great until ciprofloxacin came into our lives. Thankful for life and the blessing I have but this is really testing my self worth at this time. I only pray there will be more studies on th...

I've recently started taking duavee. It has been one week. I'm noticing that I feel like I am suffering from a uti. Pain is not bad but I can feel the pressure and feels strange starting my urine stream. Is this the medicine? Should I see my doc immediately. Drinking lots of water but no results. ## Its a pretty neutral compound on the uterus. It may be an UTI but the drug itself should not cause a bacterial infection, might want to check to be sure you don't have a uti to rule that out ## I am also noticing UTI with the change to Duavee. Around one week use I noticed. Planning now to change

I AM TAKING SULFAME/TRIMETHOPRIM 800 FOR UTI TWICE N DAILY. I AM HAVING VERY BAD LEG MUCLE PAIN. EVEN DIFFICULT TO WALK ## Hello, Mary! How are you feeling? This antibiotic does cause that in some people that take it, along with diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness and non-allergic skin rash. If you start to develop hives or swollen glands, then stop taking it and seek medical attention, because you may be allergic to it. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can naproxen sodium 550mg help with uti infection pain while peeing? I was trying to see if it lessens the pain. ## It might help a little, but you would likely get more relief from Phenazopyridine, it is available over the counter in most drug stores. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, discolored urine, and stomach pain. However, it is specifically used to alleviate the burning and pain that occurs with a UTI. You may want to look for it, if your doctor approves of you trying it. Are you also on an antibiotic?

I have been on Lyrica since my lumbar fusion surgery last October. I started the Lyrica in November and gradually increased the dose to 200mg day. Since January I have had terrible urinary symptoms that feel like uti (which I do not). I have had a complete exam and the doctor found nothing. Has anyone else had similar symptoms? and if so how long has it taken for the urinary symptoms to go if the Lyrica was stopped? ## OMG! I have had exactly the same thing. I have been to the doctors and had urine and blood samples taken, but both turn out negative. I have a stinging sensation in my pubic area and a burning feeling when passing water. I have only been taking lyrica for 3 weeks and the symptoms started after a week of taking the drug. They also make me feel spaced out, moody with suicid...

Since I started talking Adderall IR 20MG twice daily for narcolepsy, I have noticed a vague feeling of discomfort in my bladder.... I have also noticed increased urination, and was eventually diagnosed with IC Bladder - Intersiatial Cystitis . Anyone else experience any these symptoms? ## Yeah, the Adderall can cause increased urination. So, may the adderall is dehydrating you some and filling your bladder up more than what is normal for you? I would see if you get used to it. Also, make sure you are drinking enough fluids and some electrolytes throughout the day. The urination thing is common. ## Hello, Brian! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry about the problem you've had. Bladder pain is actually listed as a common side effect, along with UTIs. Other common ones can include ...

Is ciprofloxacin available over the counter in Mexico? It's my antibiotic of choice for my semi-frequent UTIs, and I would like to start keeping a small stock on hand so that I don't have to take it to the gyno every single time. I know someone out there knows what I'm talking about. Thanks. ## I am in the same boat as you and I just ordered a Cipro online. It came from India and I'm trying to find out if it is the same as what the doctor prescribes. it is orange in color not white. But an answer to your question yes I am sure they carry them in Mexico so stock up because I understand what a pain it is to have to go to the doctor every time :) good luck

On day 5 of my first dosage of Contrave, I started with low back/kidney pain. (I already had MOST of the common side effects such as NAUSEA, BAD HEADACHES, HOT FLASHES & SWEATS etc. How could we forget the often uncontrollable DIARRHEA! On day 9, I couldn't stand it. My doc sent me for a u/a and put me on Baytril for a UTI....but this is WAY WORSE than usual. I was so sick on days 10 and 11 that the doctor advised I STOP CONTRAVE! I hope I did not damage my kidneys during this brief episode. I'm drinking lots of water and hoping the Contrave leaves my body soon. Anyone else with a similar experience? ## How long have you been off of it, now? It can cause bladder pain, as a side effect, along with bloody or cloudy urine, according to FDA reports. It is unlikely that it has do...

What is the typical dosage per day of cipro for a uti for a 75 yr old woman? I am taking 500 mg twice a day and now have back flank pain on my right side after taking it for 5 days. ## That is a normal dosage for treating a UTI, however, at your age you may experience more severe side effects than someone younger. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change?

I have taken cefuroxime axetil 250mg to treat my UTI. After 1 day I take that pills (2 pills per day), I have blood spit when I take shower. Then, my back pain and I hardly to urine and the urine that come out is less than usual. are these symptoms are dangerous for me? I'm Male in 25 Years old. ## Hello, Hyroxy! How are you? Has there been any change? If an antibiotic is working for you, you should see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours and you should start to see improvement after a full 3 days. Thus, if you are still experiencing symptoms, you should see your doctor, again, as this may not be the right medication to help you. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there ...

I have started having pain & am sure it is a UTI. I have these Dicloxacill 250mg & was wondering if this will cure my problem. ## Self-diagnosing is never a good idea, especially with a urinary infection, first of all their are antibiotics targeted to treat it much faster and while it could very well be exactly what you suspect, there is always the chance that it isn't, it could be a vaginal infection, bowel, kidney or one of a number of other things, so your best bet would be to see your doctor and follow their advice after diagnosis. My sister frequently had urinary infections requiring treatment, then the last time, she was absolutely certain from the symptoms that it was another one, but her fiance took her to the emergency room anyway, turns out she had no infection at ...

I was prescribed Tramadol Sandoz Capsules 50mg for Urinary Tract Infection. After researching the drug I am wondering if this is the correct drug as it does not appear to be an antibiotic? ## No, it is not. Tramadol is actually an opioid, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It can help with pain, but will not do anything to treat a bacterial infection. Who prescribed it? ## I believe that the Tramadol HCL is not only causing me to be constipated, but now I developed a UTI...what can I do naturally to help while I am on this medication? ## Weazie, Although tramadol can cause constipation the incidence of uti's have no correlation in the literature. There are many OTC and herbal alte...

I took low dose Bactrim for 5 weeks for a UTI. While on it I started having vaginal burning. Called Dr about it who advised me to stop taking it. That was almost 4 weeks ago and still having vaginal pain and burning. Vulva is all red and inflamed. Very little itching. Tested negative for yeast and bacteria. Can't understand why it's gotten worse when I've been off the drug for 4 weeks! ## Are you on any other medications? Are you actively engaging in intercourse? Do you frequently take tub baths, or use a hot tub? There are various reasons why this could occur, according to FDA and NIH reports. Are you diabetic? Do you have any other diagnosed medical conditions? ## Was also on Uribel at the time for bladder pain. Went off that 3 weeks ago. No to all other questions.

I have rsd/crps, my pain management physician is moving, my disease involves bilateral hands and feet, my right shoulder is bone on bone and is not repairable, i need to find a pain management physician in the kansas city or springfield mo area that utilizes a written contract for narcotic pain management ## Hello, Kay! How are you? Just a warning: If you contact places and ask them about prescribing narcotics, before you're a patient, most will view that as being drug seeking behavior and won't even let you get in the door. So, if you do get a good recommendation, you'll want to wait, until you are at an appointment with them, to discuss your treatment options. I'm not saying you're doing this, I'm just letting you know, in case. And with any doctor, there's...
