I am hoping that someone can help! I am searching for a pain management provider in West Tennessee (Jackson TN, Memphis TN, etc.... I was brutally attacked at work (law enforcement) and left for dead. Everything pretty much healed up over time except my left shoulder. It was pretty much shattered! Now it is made up of alot of screws and pins. 6 surgeries later and I am still in debilitating pain. The pain clinic I was going to shut down for being pinched for insurance fraud. It sucks because there was no warning before hand what so ever. I need a doc that will prescribe my meds and not just put it off as these inj's. will work. Dont get me wrong the inj's. help but not enough all by themselves. WITH the meds and inj's. it sets my level of pain right around a 3 so neither the...

I need to find a doctor who will prescribed me opanas and oxycodone for my back pain in or around Knoxville,Tennessee ## I need a doctor who will write pain meds for severe back pain in east TN ## Hello, Darin! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe, or if they will or will not prescribe medications, that I can refer to for you. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that may be able to refer you to someone? These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side eff...

I'm in need of pain management and im new to the area ## Hello, Suzi54! How are you? The best suggestion I can make for the easiest way to get the help you need would be to set yourself up with a GP and then ask them to refer you to someone. What general area are you in? That would make it easier for people to suggest doctors, if they know of any. ## I need a pain clinic in tennessee that will let me bring my medical records and prescribes oxycodone 15mg ## Comprehensive pain management might work for you. Provided you have the right insurance or can pay cash. They have several offices in Tennessee. U can Google to find the number and the office closest to you. I too have been thrown away by Covenant Pain Management. Its odd that my last visit was in July, after that I was put out to dry after almost 10 years with the same Dr. This is one PAIN in the ass. I have back problems, surgery in 1996. Then an auto accident in 2000 that left me with a metal rod in my femur, metal in my left arm, arthritis in knee, hip hand ect. Nobody gives a damn about the individual, just let the insurance companies and Government make the medical decisions. They have done such a great job running the country and the new National Healthcare program, I am sure they are qualified to make these medical decisions, like I am qualified to fly a fighter jet. Sign me up. Lets get these crooks out of office and let Doctors do the medical decisions. ## Dr here in Knoxville and...

Anyone know any private doctors that WILL write methadone for sure? In the east Tennessee area? Thanks ## Hello, Listed below are a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other site a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Unfortunately, you can never know whether someone will write you a prescription or not just because they wrote it for someone else. "Legit" doctors will write a prescription on a case by case basis, depending on whether or not you (the patient) truly needs a specific medication. Due to the high level of dru...

I have a unique situation. I am a recovering addict with severe chronic pain. I have really bad scoliosis that's in my neck and back and been in several really bad car wrecks. Lets just say I'm a tree magnet when riding with other people. I have been on suboxone and subutex for the last 2 years. Before then I was going to the methadone clinic on and off for a few years but I couldn't pay for it anymore so I had to stop going. And before and during that I was going to the pain clinic for my back and neck pain. I was prescribed 120 10mg oxycodone and 120 60mg Morphine. Before all that I was Doing like 6 to 10 80mg OxyContin and 6 to 10 200mg morphine a day off the street from age 16-24. This was before I got insurance and found out I had scoliosis at the age of 24 and now abou...

I am a 32 year old mother of infant twins and a 3 year old with several chronic pain issues, and unfortunately also substance abuse issues. I would like to find a doctor who prescribes methadone for pain in the Middle to West Tennessee area because I feel like that would be the best possible solution for me. I believe I could take 20 to 30 mg daily and be pain free....I can't think of anything else I could take as small a dosage of and not hurt and/or have cravings all the time. Let's be honest here, if you are on chronic pain medication, your body has cravings on the short-term meds. If a doctor who prescribes them regularly says they aren't for me, then I will accept that. Unfortunately, I don't know of any doctors, and the people I know who ARE prescribed methadone gu...

i was on soma approx 10yrs then 1 1/2yrs ago my dr said she couldnt write prescriptions for them anymore i have taken 5 different relaxers and nothing works like soma. why cant i get them now? ## Well a couple years back Soma was re classified as a schedule 4 medicine and many Doctors don't like to write for it. Funny thing, I have had 3 doctors since the new law prescribe me Soma, go figure! ## Soma is the most commonly abused muscle relaxant, because it is so potent. And Eddy is correct, it was changed to a schedule IV controlled substance several years ago. As such, to have them prescribed on any long-term, ongoing basis, you'd need to be seeing a specialist, such as a pain management physician. ## Can soma be prescribed with oxycodone? ## Very doubtful with the new regulatio...

Hello been going to methadone clinic for about 10years going for pain although its a maintenance program. Looking for a Dr because it costs so much to go to clinic. On 120 MG's. Live in west Tennessee. Any suggestions? ## Hello, Brandon! How are you? Unfortunately, you're not going to be able to switch. Due to the current laws, for addiction/maintenance, it can only be given in a clinical setting by those that have been specially trained in its use for such. Regular doctors can only prescribe it for pain and what you currently have in your records is the fact that you were going to a treatment clinic, so a regular doctor isn't going to be able to prescribe it for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello Brandon, not sure if you have found a doctor yet to help yo...

why have doctors in memphis tn stopped prescribing pain meds? ## Based on what's been going on lately in the pharmaceutical world, my guess is that most of the rudimentary doctors have become reluctant to "over-prescribe" narcotics, because they fear that they will loose their licenses upon doing so. The same thing appears to be happening in parts of Florida. Does anyone have some extra insight on this? ## You are spot on, this is true in all 50 states, and, intensified with the so-called, "OxyContin Express" Unfortunately, out of state patients, driving from West Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky especially, to Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties in South Fla, about 3 years ago, before, Florida passed legislation, to join the Prescription Monitoring Program. Nov. of 2016 I moved from Pa. to Tenn. out of family need. I am 60 yrs. old and had numerous lower back and cervical surgeries. In Pa. I received 180 percocet 10/325 per month. My pain spec. here in Tenn. will only prescribe 120 per. month saying by Tenn. law this is the max amount allowed per month. Can anyone tell me if this is fact? Thanks. ## Yes, it can vary from state to state. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. If it isn't controlling your pain, you may want to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Does anyone else have any advice to offer?

I need to find a doctor that will prescribe Methadone for pain use. They wont even let me go to clinic because i was on it for pain for many years ## I live in south bend Indiana and was going to a methadone clinic for 8 yrs, I then found a dr. who wrote me 10-10mg pills a day which is 100mg a day. That was what I was on at the clinic. Then I started getting dirty drug panels and after the 4th one he stopped writing for me so I went back to the clinic and they toke me back on with no problems. I have never heard of the methadone clinic turn anyone down due to getting it for pain from a doctor originally. How are you? There is no database listing doctors that will prescribe any given medication, so I can't search for one for you in that respect. Do you have a PCP in Utah, yet? If you require such medications on a long-term basis for chronic pain, then under the new regulations, you'll most likely need to see a pain...

I had an appointment with PM Thursday, June 7. I called my PM and had my appointment moved up to Wednesday, June 6. I've been taking care of my Dad in Arkansas. I live in Tennessee. So I asked my doctor if she would put on the script fill today which was Wednesday. The reason was my Dad had passed away and I needed to get back to Arkansas. It was a few days too early to be filled. I took my script to my local Walgreens cause it said to be filled today. They denied it to be filled that day no matter what the doctor wrote. It was the Lortab 10/325 Watson brand. Then I went to my local Wal-Mart and they filled it like the doctor ordered. These were the Mallinckrodt brand of Lortab. With the Watson brand I've had little pain. When I started taking the Mallinckrodt brand it barely to...
