Will going straight from 40mg Norco daily to a Butrans patch cause precipitated withdrawals? ## Yes, it may, since Buprenorphine takes a stronger hold on the opiate receptors than the Norco, so it tends to kick it out, so to speak. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have been on 16 mg of suboxone for almost a month. Last night I took 3 norco 10 mgs at the same time. It has been 15 hours can I take my suboxone? ## From what I've seen on other threads, it seems like most people recommend waiting until the norco is completely out of your system before taking suboxone (which may be an estimated 24-48 hours based on how much you took). So yeah, I get the sense that you're on the right track, but if it were me I'd probably try to wait it out for another day or so (may be easier said than done). I live in the Detroit area. Been filling norco for over 12 years now and never had a problem. Now I cant find a pharmacy to fill them. I read above that there is a shortage at the end each year. What is the equivalent of norco 10 mg to Tylenol W codeine, is it a #3 or #4 ? ## Hi brian, I'd recommend double checking this with your doctor first just to make sure it's accurate, but according various opiate conversion charts I viewed online, 10mgs of Hydrocodone has an estimated equivalency to about 60mgs of Codeine. And in that respect Norco 10/325 should be similar to Tylenol #4; which has 60mgs of Codeine + 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Does anyone else find this to be true based on personal experience?

I have a few pills that were claimed to be Norco, but I've never seen them before and I'm having a very tough time identifying them online. The pill is oblong but thicker than a normal Norco. I have been taking pain meds for yrs. and when the lortab 7.5 was changed to norco, I do not get full benefit. My question is where can I get the old lortab 7.5 pill w/the blue specks in it? I use Walgreen's. My pain med, Norco 10/325 is given to me with 2 refills, for a total of 3. I go to my Dr. every 3 mos. Unless I get sick between visits. I have noticed that on numerous occasions my Rx number on the refills do not match the original Rx number. Why? I should never have a prescription for this expire, but have seen many that have expired when I checked online. Somehow along the way, due to the appointment scheduling, I would have one refill left when I went to the Dr. At my 3 mos. Appt. Terrible hip pain from Arthritis. Taking 90 ml methadone liquid for over 13 yrs. Nothing can help pain due to methadone tolerance is so high. Friend gave me a Butran patch 15mcg/per hour, but after reading online advice I'm afraid of going into severe withdrawal of the methadone. I understand these two together will not work, but rather cause me great problems. I've tried Norco, Oxy-cordone, Percaset, n Ibprofin 800mg. If anything, the ibprofin 800 helped slightly, but nothing else even fazed my pain at all. I'm now seeing a pain management Dr. who has prescribed me lidocaine patches, and some type of non-narcotic inflammatory patches. I am waiting already over two weeks for him to pre-authorize these patches, so don't know if they will help my pain. Does anyone know of ...

which is more potent hydrocodone-acetaminophen (5-325) or Acetaminophen/cod 3 (300/30mg)? ## Milligram for milligram, hydrocodone is reported to be significantly more potent than codeine. So even with the difference in milligrams I'm going to have to assume that the generic norco you have may be more potent from what I've read online. While everyone's experience may be different, I have also seen comments from patients who've tried both and feel that "10mgs" of hydrocodone far exceeds the potency of "60mgs" of codeine. Though that may not be as accurate for someone else with a different tolerance, it does go to show that hydrocodone is superior and probably shouldn't ever be substituted for codeine in that sense.
