do mini thins expire? if they do, how long are they good for? ## to be more specific...in case people think im talking about crackers or something, mini thins are essentially speed, ingredients are caffeine and herb. it was pretty easy to sell stuff like this over the counter back in the 80s and early 90s. ## I am not certain about this exact product, but most supplements are usually stable for one year, after this time, they don't get dangerous but can lose effectiveness. Mini Thins can still be purchased online, they contain: Niacin, Caffeine, Synephrine (from bitter orange), Asian Ginseng, Ginger Root, Green Tea, Kola Nut, Rhodiola Rosea and Willow Bark. Was there anything else I can help you with?

I take a mini thin tablet everyday, but it seems as if i do i get more frustrated and more irritable. Should i stop taking them? I don't have time to exercise with two girls and i seem to have lack of energy. ## Hello, Bobbie! How are you? According to what I'm reading about them, they do act as a stimulant to aid in weight loss and increase energy. Pretty much anything that does that can cause side effects, such as what you've described. You may also experience nausea, headache and insomnia, as reported by the FDA. Many other users have said they experienced similar side effects. It might be best to talk to your doctor to see what you can take that may not cause such issues. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No thank you. I do not have a regular doctor as of now do...

As a teenage girl I was obviously self conscious about my body. I had been on dexamethasone twice before and the side effects were minimal. There was the increased appetite and the road rage. I had not gained weight or anything. My disorder pops up for a third time, this time quicker than ever, and once again I'm back on the roids. I figured this time I would try to change for the better. When I did have my increased appetite I ate healthy foods instead of fatty greasy things. I constantly drank water and did everything to prevent gaining weight. As the weeks gradually progressed I felt something different in my face. I felt a tight pressure and my skin tightening. It actually hurt to smile. One day it finally happened. I could not fit into my pants. One day I could and suddenly get...

I am 69 yrs. I have prostat enlargement. Urine flow was restricted. Doctors advised urimaxd 4mg. For the last 1 yr ,I have been using. The urine flow has improved. So far no recognizable side effects expect for stoppage of discharge during intercourse. What steps should I take to avoid any side effects. ## Hi OAR, Unfortunately when it comes to any type of prescription medication, there is always the risk of possible side effects. That's just the nature of putting a "foreign" substance into your body. Some things you can do to help lessen your risk of 'certain' side effects, may involve simple things like eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, keeping low stress levels, staying hydrated, and maintaining positive thoughts throughout the day. Not all side effects can...

My daughter Catherine (age 17), had an extreme case of Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (lasted over a year). We saw specialist at Nemours Children's hospital (Orlando, FL) and they recommend Xolair inj's. as a course of treatment. She has had 6 months of infusions. Although her hives are under control with the help of this medication, the side effects are a bit alarming. Each time she has the shots done, she becomes very confused, dizzy and lethargic. She has trouble remembering things and seems as though she's intoxicated (stumbling around). To the point where she is vomiting and unable to function normally. She has to stop life and just keep her eyes closed and rest. This lasts for 4 to 5 days. After the side effects wear off, she has told me she has shocks in her head (Brain...

I've been having trouble starting on a low of synthroid to treat sub-clinical hypothyroidism (TSH ~3.5, no values for T4/T3) for fertility reasons. I'm 33, generally healthy, not overweight, exercise daily and eat a healthy diet. Admittedly, I have been under considerable stress for many years and need to keep working on stress management. First attempt: I initially started taking 25mcg. I've taken the medication first thing in the morning with a full glass of water, not eaten anything for 2 hours and not taken any vitamins/supplements at the same time. 2 days after starting this dose, I began to have a racing heart rate, felt panicky, was very flushed and emotionally labile (crying for no reason/fly off the handle, not my typical emotional state). These symptoms worsened fo...

Hello, I took this for ten days four X per day for infected tooth. How long AFTER I get off it will the keflex still help? I am going to be doing a second round while I wait for oral surgery, but how long in between rounds should I be okay? Thanks MUCH. It's urgent. ## Unfortunately, there's no time frame that can be quoted to answer your question, since we are all different, and it may also be affect by other factors, such as your overall health, the type of infection you have, how severe the infection is, and etc. The best thing to do would be to try and minimize the dosing gap, as much as possible. It is an antibiotic, not a controlled substance, so to speak, so you should be able to pick up a refill right away. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Keflex as possibly inc...

How did this drug, with its horrible side effects and minimal efficacy (6 weeks survival vs placebo), ever get approved? How is its efficacy determined? What are the oncologist's responsibilities for managing side effects? ## @Rocky, With all the side effects, deaths, and money spent on the war against drugs, I have to wonder how almost every medication on the market has ever been approved. Regarding your last question, I think the link below may help shed some light on the roles and responsibilities associated with each type of Oncologist: cancer.net/all-about-cancer/newly-diagnosed/find-oncologist/types-oncologists However, I get the sense that their responsibility in managing each patient's side effects would just entail changing medications or dosages to better suit individu...

I used this prescription on my forehead twice a day for 10 days. Removed all my ak's. Has now been about 1 year and a few are returning. You must apply a very thin film. It did turn bright red after about 7 days. Remains that way while peeling. About three weeks after stopping treatment. Not much pain for me. Just too much time hiding at home. Don't use any cosmetics while treating. Never do your whole face at once! ## I agree completely. I did the exact treatment in 2014 and have been using this product on and off since then. Only a few have returned to this day. Works great for me. I experienced minimum sting or itching. You must use a very fine touch of cream and then rub it in. Keep treated areas small. Never exceed over 9 x 9 inch or it will get into your blood and cause pa...

I have only taken on Diclofenac Dr 75 (at 8:30am) and I have been dizzy, lightheaded, nauseated and had diarrhea all day. Granted I took it only with some yogurt because I needed it so badly for my shoulder pain and didn't want to wait till I had a meal. Do you think if I take it with a meal these side effects will minimize or as time goes on, my body will become accustomed to it and I won't have these side effects?? A bad day for me. ## Hello, Sorry to hear about your experience with Diclofenac. Unfortunately there is no real way of knowing how this drug is going to effect you the long run, since we all react/respond to these types of medications differently (due to body chemistry, age, weight, health, diet, and other individual factors that come into play). However from my own...

I can't find any information on specifically how long before a meal to take Belviq to get the optimal performance from the medication. I just started on it yesterday and want to make sure I'm giving this my best try. ## Hello, CB! How are you? From what I'm reading on the Belviq site, there is no particular time span that it needs to be taken before a meal, as a matter of fact, they say it can be taken with or without food, so if it causes nausea, you may want to take it with food to help minimize that. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include dizziness, changes in memory or thinking, irritability, anorexia and anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I think it is around 2 hours. I would take it first thing in the morning and then late after...

I would like to know if anyone has experienced skin and muscle mass changes while on Seroquel? I was put on this medication by my psychiatrist almost a year ago to help with manic depressive disorder and sleep problems. At first it seemed to do a wonderful job with minimal side effects (increased appetite and a bit of a dry mouth). I then was given a gradual increase in dosage when sleep problems started to become a problem again. At the increased dosage of 400 mg daily, I noticed that my skin was suddenly taking on a crinkly, crepe paper like appearance and there was a dramatic change in my leg and arm muscle mass with dramatic weakness and leg muscle pain so severe at night that it awakens me from sleep. My skin has become so paper thin that when I shave my legs, they bleed. At the ag...

Just started taking BioTe ADK and am having terrible gas pain and abdominal discomfort. Is gas a side effect of these vitamins? ## Most multivitamins can cause that, they can be very harsh on the gut. You might be able to minimize it by making sure to take it with food. The FDA lists other possible side effects as including nausea, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Okay, thanks! What about taking it at night (with a meal) instead of in the morning? Do you think that would help? ## I just started taking ADK and wondering if your issue was just temporary or continuing. Do you take one pill per day as recommended on the bottle, my doctor said, one every other day, so just curious. ## I started taking ADK 10 and DIM along with a pellet HRT two days ago. I have res...

how do you take the med???and how late to take not to make you get up during the night???? ## When I was on them, my doctor always had me take it in the morning, to try to minimize the chance that I would have to get up at night and go the bathroom. My doctor gave me a sample pack and a prescription for metanx because he thought it could help me nerve pain. But he said there were no side effects. Do you think this will be helpful? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The FDA classifies Metanx as a medical food, it contains nutrients that are believed to help support nerve health and minimize nerve pain. Thus, there are no commonly known side effects for it, other than possibly nausea, since it is rather potent. Have you tried it, yet? ## I can check. Thanks so much. There has to be something. ## I have not.. Thanks so much. Tried a lot of meds. Trying to get away from opoids. ## METANX definitely works for sciatica! We get samples of it where I work and nothing helps when I get sciatica. I tried the Metanx and 2 hours later, the burning, p...

I take high BP medicine and also acid reflux medicine and low dose asprin everyday. My doctor presribed 7.5MG of Meloxicam for arthritis. I have had several mini-strokes that affects my speech and I also break out when I take aleve, is this safe to take? ## Hello, Sheryl! How are you doing? I am very sorry about your various health issues. Was it prescribed by your PCP? If so, I'd suggest not taking it, until you check with whatever other doctor you see for your strokes. It can cause blood thinning, according to the FDA, so it may be contraindicated with your other medications. It can also cause elevated blood pressure, as a side effect. It would be best to be cautious.

I think as long as Evanston can continue to utilize this molecule while minimizing the types of side effects that plague most prescription drugs, they'd find much success expanding on it's application for depression. The research backing up their experiments gives hope to those with treatment resistant depression and in my opinion may be a viable alternative for patients seeking a safer approach to managing these symptoms in the long run.
